The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.
Key facts

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Fantastically Awesome. Staff was so pleasant, rooms very clean & the Tower Resturant OMG, totally Amazing. The entire Stratosphere Family, Yes Family, they made me feel like FAMILY. Everything I needed was available right there in the hotel. I will be coming back to visit THE STRATOSPHERE, it will be like going home to Family.

Great location,some friendly staff

Stayed at the Stratosphere one time before and had a very enjoyable stay which prompted me to stay there again. Very disappointed this trip with the rudeness and lack of helpfulness and knowledge by the staff. I would personally not stay there again because of this experience.

Where There's Smoke

Believe it or not, many people come to Vegas on business unrelated to gambling and the casino life. I like the Stratosphere, because it's near my work site and easy to get in and out. But the RIDICULOUS internet charges are offensive, and the inconsiderate smokers EVERYWHERE is beyond offensive. You would think adults in this day and age would not smoke the way they do in Vegas.

Birthday/Wedding Weekend at Stratosphere

I would have liked to see the hotel staff offer "something" after they found out that we were staying at their hotel for a 40th Birthday celebration and a wedding. Not to mention there were 6 couples that all stayed at this hotel for the celebrations. I would have liked to see a coffee maker in the standard suites. I would recommend the Stratosphere to folks that are looking for a bargain hotel only. It is not close to anything and nothing to get overly excited about.

Nightlife tip: In Hotel

The C Bar in The Stratosphere was a great place to spend the evening with our group of friends. ALSO,the 8th floor pool staff were a wonderful group of folks and the pool area was large and not overly crowded. The Big Shot on the top of the hotel was a kick in the pants. Great photo opportunities up there also!!!

eh

i solely reserved this hotel in april for my sept trip for the free shuttle to the strip. but sometime in may the shuttle was done away with and i was not notified. this was completely inconvenient to me! it changed my plans for that week drastically. also, considering im paying a daily resort fee, i should've had access to every hotel amenity. including the rides. but i had to pay extra for that! and the concierge were not very helpful. down right rude. but the rest of the staff were nice and helpful. the rooms werent all that special. like a days inn or best western. and at least there i get a fridge! no fridge, microwave or coffee maker! that sucked!

Wonderful Wonderful

I was so pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It was very hot in Vegas while I was there...over 100 degrees so I wasn't too keen on going out. When I found out that the hotel had a tower of restaurants and shops attached...well.. that made my stay even more enjoyable. And the jacuzzi in the room was heavenly.

Taxi's like the location

I was disappointed with room service information, no menu, nothing stating there was room service other than a button on the phone. No coffee in room, stayed 3 night but room only cleaned once. Cab ride one way to main strip average cost $15 one way, not including tip. Just 2 of us, dinner buffet $45, breakfast $35 at restaurant, Roxy's had good food and entertainment, average to high prices for burgers and sandwiches. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were good size as well as the bathrooms.

Fun budget hotel on end of strip.

This hotel was on the end of the strip, which is a less convenient location than other hotels on the strip. The price is right, though, so that makes up for that slight inconvenience considering the bus fare is inexpensive. There is a selection of activities to do at the hotel, including a handful of rides, a couple pools, and plenty of games in the casino.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a pizza buffet a short walk from the hotel (walking toward the other hotels). I'm talking about so short, you'll be there less than 3 minutes from leaving your room. That pizza is terrific and the price is unbeatable.
