The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is a five-time winner of the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Best of Las Vegas Readers Poll in 2014. The Stratosphere Tower took home Best Place to View the City. Its burlesque performers won Best Showgirls and its Top of the World restaurant won Best Fine Dining Restaurant and Best Restaurant with a View. To top it off, the Stratosphere's Level 107 won the award for Best Lounge. Situated right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip, the Stratosphere Tower offers unrivaled views of Sin City and tons of amenities including a rooftop swimming pool, a gym and a full-service spa.

Location
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Highlights

Along with its iconic tower, visible throughout the valley, the Stratosphere boasts an outdoor pool, a casino with the full gamut of table games and video slot machines, a popular nightclub and bars. In the spirit of Las Vegas magicians Penn & Teller, the magic shop downstairs offers tricks for illusionists of all ages. All guests receive free keys to the tower and a free ride on the SkyJump, a controlled free fall from the 108th floor fast enough to blur neon. The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower has fine dining, great gaming and death-defying thrill rides, all within a short drive of classic Downtown and Fremont Street attractions like the Arts District and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in nearby Symphony Park.

Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

Policies
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

My First Vegas Trip

The front desk staff were nice, especially at check-out and so was our housekeeper but some of the folks at the shops weren't too friendly. Also-there wasn't a wide variety in the types of shops available. I also didn't like the people there arranging for time share tours bombarding me daily. It really would have been nice to have a spa discount or something and maybe I would have taken the time to even visit that floor! Lastly-I'm a tv freak and having only the basic channels was a bummer. Would have really enjoyed Bravo, Style Network, AMC, WE, even HBO or Showtime at an extra cost!

First Time at the Stratosphere

They were very nice rooms. Only complaint was we wanted a King smoking and when we got there they said the smoking was a request and not guaranteed. So we got to choose between a King non-smoking and two queens smoking. We took the smoking. We upgraded twice to get a room up high with a view of the strip, and we had a view of the tower base right outside our window. Other than those two things it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I used the concierge desk multiple times and was very pleased.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

We went to Table 10 one night. It was wonderful. It is not a cheap place to eat though. For four of us including tip the bill was about $300

The hotel was great, the location was great. Checking in took a long time, because they were understaffed. Also housekeeping did not bring extra requested towels and soap!

Nice place to stay on a moderate budget.

I checked in around 8pm, and there were no rooms available. The front desk staff were very courteous as I waited. The room was on the 14th floor in the Premier tower. I was disappointed that the room faced the North end of the strip and had not been updated like the other rooms on the same floor. The room had a regular tube tv while other rooms on the same floor had flat panel tv's. The pool needed updating in comparison with other pools in the Vegas area. Overall, the stay was fair - I wouldn't recommend upgrading to a tower room with a view because you would not see very much of anything. Even on the strip side about all you will see is construction.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Short walk to the North end of the strip. If you like "old Vegas" this is the place to go. The North end of the strip seemed more fun and less commercial than the South end. If you want to visit a long mall with overpriced shops and snobby people then the South strip is the right place. However, if you want to have fun and enjoy Vegas I would definitely recommend the North strip. Check out the $1.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate...very good. Also check out the 99 cent fried twinkie or fried oreos. You can get a free photo with a Million Dollars at Binion's.

Affordable, clean, & friendly

Excellent value! The price was well worth what you received. The room was clean and quiet. Though the hotel is not near the main part of the strip, their is a very affordable bus shuttle. The revolving restaurant was perfect: great view, great service, and the meal was excellent. 4.5 stars but not for the budget-conscious.
