The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Very nice

The room was very nice and clean. The view wasn't that great. You see some hotels and the roof of the parking lot. The toliet make a loud noise when you flush. You have to walk through the casino to check to your room. But overall it was nice to be able to go up to top and see the rest of the city especially at night time when you can see all the lights. It was also nice to have a McDonald and other restaurant in the hotel close by. Also, there is a resort fee about $7.50 per night included. I don't mind the resort fee but it didn't included internet access. You had to paid extra for that. I wish it was included in the resort fee.

Not quite what I expected

I found this hotel on Orbitz when I was planning a last minute trip with some girlfriends. We were there just to have a good time, not spend a lot of money, and relax. First, I was charged a resort fee on top of what my original Orbitz price was. This really surprised me. The room was adequate other than that all of the drains were clogged, from the sink to the shower. This was a fun hotel to hang out the casino, lounge, etc, but it's at the far end of the strip so don't plan on walking.

OK hotel

the pool/tower entrance to the tower were difficult to locate.will need to take a specific elevator other than the one for your room which made it kind of confusing.

Amazing Getaway

It looks like a run down hotel from the outside. As soon as you get in, the stench hits you in the face and you start thinking you made a big mistake choosing it, but then, you meet the first receptionist and everything gets better. Hospitality is what keeps this place open! And the cleanness of the room, honestly, it was very good. (We had been told ours was an updated room) So, despite the noise coming from the other rooms, the experience was not that bad. Now, at the bars was another different story; we were ignored like like integration was part of a remote future waiting for at least 15 minutes and leaving without greeting. ROXY is the best diner in the area. A +

my vegas stay

the stratosphere was a very very fun hotel to stay at. There are plenty of places to eat, even have a ihop just outside and across the street. The Sahara isn't very far only a few blocks and thats where the monorail starts. I would say take a cab though because its only $6 bucks and saves you 15 minutes of walking. Now, the Sahara has $1 hotdogs, beer, mini shots, and $1 tables. The rides at the top are the best in Vegas and they have a new jump attraction. Its $100 bucks but you free fall almost from the top to the bottom. The MAJOR downside for me and my friends was the fact that the A/C only goes down to 69 and in reality the rooms are at abot 75 degrees. Now, you only have this problem in the rooms that were upgraded in 2008. If you stay in the old wings like tower II your A/C is actually a wall unit and you can crank that puppy all the way down so your room is nice a chill. ONE really great plus is the 4pm-8pm happy hour at the main bar of the stratosphere for only $30 bucks!
