The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Excellent value for the money

Good for the money. Not enough outlets to plug in both lamps and alarm clock that came with the room :)

clean and comfortable

Being it is off from the other casino's, it made for a nice relaxing time when gambling. It was never too crowded.

Weekend trip to Vegas

The hotel was a bit farther from the main strip (Excalibur, Paris, Wynn, MGM Grand, etc) then we expected. If you want to save some money and don't mind walking to the other places then it wasn't bad money for the deal. If you have the extra money to spend then I would suggest something closer to the rest of the strip. My partner and I do not gamble so I can't help you with any slot/table information. We watched shows and visited other local sites.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you plan on walking places and drinking then your a bit far away from the other hotels, clubs, etc.. But there is always taxis if you can't make it (start about 3.30 then add.20 for every 1/12 mile or there are local buses that run for 3.00 one trip or 7.00 for 24 hr.) We saw Bite at the Stratosphere it was okay, glad we had 2 for 1 ticket deal otherwise I wouldn't have paid more for it. (if you are limited on budget and shows, skip this one and see another) Went to Tournament of Kings at Excalibur was a good show as well. Interactive with the audience, cheering for your contender. Great for family. Saw Le Reve at the Wynn hotel. This show was worth the money and the best one we watched. My partner and I enjoyed it greatly. The performers were amazing. We enjoyed the art galleries around Aria. When walking the strip be sure to take your camera for many photo opportunities. There is designer shopping and plenty of things to waste your money on. There are discount coupon ticket books located throughout the sidewalks (mixed with the call girls info.) Other then that, enjoy your trip!

Not bad.

The best part is that you can go up to the tower for free using your hotel room car keys. Good food at the restaurants downstairs with the singing waiter/waitress, nice clean rooms. But loud crazy drunk people near the elevators [...] So far so good. I would recommend this hotel for adults with low budget.

Stratosphere Casino Las Vegas

We really enjoyed our stay at the stratosphere. However, my partner has gall bladder issues and there were not very many healthy food choices available for him. Everything was very heavy, much of it fried - just not enough low fat healthy items to choose from.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

At the stratosphere, you are a very short walk away from drug stores and other restaurants. the most convenient location in las vegas, in my opinion.

Unbeatable amenities for the price

The hotel has everything that we could ask for and more. Just to sit in the comfortable chairs on the observation deck is worth going to this hotel. We have taken one similar trip staying Downtown - no comparison!
