The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Awesome value for the price

Staff were very friendly, including concierge, front desk, bell man, and [...] the bartender. Room was clean and was a great value for the price. Though the Strat is at the end of the strip, it didn't detract from our fun enough to keep us from staying there again. Food at Lucky's and Roxy's was great.

Walking the strip is fun . but by the time your done you are all the way across town from your hotel. the bus in town is only 7 dollars for 24 hours and helps when your feet are sore and need a rest

Stratosphere Big Disappointment

A month ahead of our trip we asked for a room close to the elevator due to physical and medical problems and we were assured by management staff that this would happen. However when we got there we were assigned rooms that were very far from the elevator and the one room was overlooking the back of the hotel (view of parking garage and ghetto) although I specifically asked for a front view. The long walk from the elevator to the room was a huge letdown. I won't stay there ever again since they do not respect people with physical problems who require some consideration when assigning a room.

Inexpensive, but not a good location

The hotel and casino are fine. My room was clean, and the price was hard to beat. However, the Stratosphere is located about halfway between the strip and Fremont Street, in an area where you probably don't want to be walking around at night. So once you're at the Stratosphere, you're somewhat isolated and you really have to take a cab to get to the more fun places in Vegas. You're better off staying at a hotel in those other parts of town. There are certainly inexpensive places to stay on Fremont Street.

fun get away, just for the heck of it.

Even though it was at the north end of the strip & sort of away from everything, we just hopped on the DUCE bus & was at other spots on the strip in no time!! wish we would of know about that service the 1st day we were there lol. over all it was awesome & a nice place to stay. Had good food with quick service & friendly staff. Even let us check in to our room 7 hours early which was a big plus!!

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

take the duce bus line, it takes you up & down the entire strip with lots of stops so you can hop off wherever you like! the secret though is to go to one of the ticket booths & buy a 3 day pass. its better for your money that way but you can only get it at a few stops, so just ask the driver where one is. we got ours right in front of SLOTS OF FUN which is next door to circus circus you cant miss it. 3 day all access pass was only $15

Vegas Trip

The hotel is close to the Deuce stop. This is the best mode of transportation to the main strip and Fremont St. It is not in walking distance to either. We did not have a great view from the 21st floor, but the room was a decent size. Could use some upgrades and a fridge, but very clean. The pool closed early daily, we were told there hadn't been a DJ there in months. The buffet was OK, but $20 all day long. The staff was friendly and definitely a place to stay if you just want a reasonable spot to lay your head. Not much to do AT the hotel.

Cheap in every sense

Long walking distances with luggage through the casino. The best days seem to be over for quite some time, desperately needs a makeover. Very long check-in procedure, although the reservation was done online and prepaid. Location far off the main attractions on the strip.

Don't stay at the Stratosphere!

The worst Hotel I have ever stayed at. No customer service what so ever. If I had not already paid for this Hotel through [...] I would of demanded a full refund and left. Thats how bad the service was. Paid for an up grated room when we went to the room the A/C did not work so they moved us to a room that was not up grated and told us to bad thats all they had. And we even said we would pay for a suite and they told us No! They are all booked!
