The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

  • The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).
  • The pool at 8th floor will be closed for maintenance on 2-24 February 2015.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

great place for a family to getaway

I was there only for one day but it was well worth it, wish I could of stayed there more. I never been to Las Vegas, but the people there were great and friendly. I surely would stay there again. At night you have a 360 degree view of the city and it was so relaxing to see it. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel, city, and people in Vegas. Oh make sure you take shuttle buses from hotel to airport. That would save you alot of money and headaches. Instead of paying for 45 bucks in cab fares, the shuttle only charges you 8 bucks. Viva Las Vegas!!

always a good value

We have been coming back to the Stratosphere every year. Initially we were drawn by the room rates that are significantly lower than other hotels we've been to on the strip. There are other hotels that are a little bit more beat up that offer rooms at the same rate, but the Stratoshpere is newer and nicer than those other older hotels we've been to. The fact that this is at the "far end of the strip" has made this centrally located to us as we have now discovered the casinos downtown. Centrally located is now "relative" and we feel that the Stratoshpere is the true center of Las Vegas.

Main Street Station downtown is the best buffet for the money, hands down.

Stratosphere

The tower was phenominal. You do have to pay an additional $7.50 per day that is apart from the daily rate. It is a few miles from most of the other hotels on the strip and is not as new as most of the other ones. However,if you are looking for a place to simply spend the night and will be out during the day, this is a good value.

The top of the world

This is an older hotel, but with the best food and best attraction for non-gambler in town.I like my stay there, was really fun.If you go to vegas often, you cannot not visit this place at least once. The location is the problem for this hotel,it is very far for the most activities on the strip and also very scary.I wouldn't advice nobody to walk around there alone at night. Also, they need to get better TV.their televisions are ridiculous, nobody will buy movies from those.

Vegas on a budget....

The hotel itself is pretty nice and clean...it is however located at the end of the strip so you can't really walk to wherever you want to go, like you can with other hotels located in the middle of the strip. Its cheaper than the other hotels but u probably spend the difference on cab fare...

nice price, but nothing special

Nice place, a bit far from the strip, From Stratosphere to MGM or Luxor is 20$ to go. Rooms are good, a bit noisy, the walls are not isolated enough, but you will sleep. Casino staff are a bit old, and from everywhere (as seen on cruise ship) Over all it is not too bad, if you compare the price.
