The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.
Key facts

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

This is the first I've traveled to Las Vegas and stayed at the Stratoshphere and my experience was great. The casino area was always fun and the $5.00 games is a plus..lol. Be sure to check out each hotel though because they all have a Name for a reason !!!!!

Good location for # 1 trip

We walk the strip, visited Hoover Dam, visited The Grand Canyon, saw the Terry Fator show, the American Stars show, shopped, experienced the night life on the strip.....and got very sore feet! but worth the trip. This in all 3 full days.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

This was our first trip to Vegas and staying at the Stratosphere was a good spot............it enable us to get out and walk the strip and see what it was all about. Visited the majority of the casinos except did not get the chance to see downtown......would have like to...but did not have time. We were told that the bus system around Vegas was very good.

no more Budget rental car

Express check out is great. You can do it in your room just with the TV connected to their system.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Always use valet parking. It´s worth! 2 bucks for each time you need to get your car instead going free parking (too much walking for little money!)

Decent value

We ate dinner at the buffet. It was just average in quality and cost too much even with the 25% discount for Ace Play members. Desserts were poor quality. Prime Rib was dry and practically inedible. We stayed here once before and were happy with the room. That was the biggest reason we returned. However, wireless Internet access was $11.99 per day extra and they charge a dollar per phone call even for 800 numbers, one of which was to a guy to help you get the wireless connection set up.

Wow, the Stratosphere!

The room is spectacular! The king size bed is soft and comfortable, the view is amazing ( I am on the 17th floor) and the housekeeping staff cleans the room very throughly. All things considered, the room is worth the value! I am impressed!

The Romance lounge is on the 107th floor of the stratospher and you can see ALL of Las Vegas out the window. I went on Jazz night (Wednesday). The crowd was classy, the food excellent and it was a winner of a night!

Not the best, not the worst

Service was great. From the front desk staff to housekeeping, we were treated very well. We paid for the upgrade to the luxury spa standard. The room was definately standard, nothing too special. But the jetted tub was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room service was unavailable, completely without explanation. Also, the pools were closed, I guess because of the weather. We didn't bother with the buffet, but enjoyed the endless tacos for $9.99 at the Back Alley Bar. It was awesome to watch football on the large screens on Sunday at theatre. Not the most happening place to be, but can't beat the price.
