Located upstairs in the second floor mezzanine, this festive cantina is a lively backdrop for south-of-the-border favorites plated up in the kitchen. Enjoy a frosty margarita and endless chips with a trio of salsa, guacamole and beans while browsing the menu – there are dozens of selections to choose from. Tacos, tamales, enchiladas, chimichangas, sizzling fajitas, chile relleno, flautas, and carne asadas are among Baja’s bestsellers. For the bravehearted, Baja’s colorful tequila bar just outside offers a wide selection of fiery, mouthwatering spirits on display.
Now open at the South Point is Michael's gourmet room. Las Vegas visitors and residents alike know that Michael's gourmet room has been one of the finest restaurants in all of Las Vegas. For over 20 years, this intimate, 50-seat gourmet room has earned accolades galore. Its many prestigious honors awarded by the country's premier restaurant reviewers and dining surveys attest to its excellence not only in menu but also in service and style. Michael's awards have included being named one of the Top 5 Restaurants in Las Vegas by the Zagat Survey. It received the Four-Diamond Award for Exceptional Cuisine, Excellent Service, and Elegant Dining Atmosphere from the American Automobile Association, the Award of Excellence from Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and the Finest Gourmet Restaurant recognition from the Las Vegas Review-Journal Readers' Poll.
Following the tradition of Las Vegas's fine dining steakhouses, the Silverado Steakhouse offers the charm and service that discerning patrons have come to expect. Hand painted mural scenes and vintage photographs line the walls above plush high backed booths, providing an intimate meal in an elegant yet unpretentious setting. The menu, designed to offer the best in American steakhouse cuisine, centers on top-quality steaks and chops, fresh seafood and continental dishes. Perfect for finishing off an evening of play in the casino or watching an event in the Equestrian Center, a trip to Silverado will leave you wanting to come back.
When Italian cuisine strikes your fancy, Don Vito's is the place to whet your appetite. Our culinary team starts with the freshest ingredients and transforms them into traditional favorites Don Vito’s regulars rave about. Start with a Caprese style salad of ripe tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella Chef Angelo makes by hand. Next, on to homemade gnocchi or ravioli, two other local favorites. Savory soups, freshly baked breads, seafood flown in daily, and a wide variety of Italian desserts are showcased in this stylishly appointed specialty room. Attentive and accommodating service will make your pre-show dinner, special occasion, or night on the town an even more memorable experience.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the casino on the mezzanine is South Point’s newest restaurant addition, Primarily Prime Rib. Catering to hearty appetites, the menu features four flavorful prime rib cuts, dry aged to ensure tenderness, seasoned and slowly roasted. Other dishes aim to please all palates, including comfort foods like chicken and dumplings and sophisticated creations such as sesame crusted sea bass. Sip on a signature cocktail, sit back and relax as your favorite prime rib cut is prepared to your liking by our culinary staff.
Any time, day or night, the Coronado Café has something for everyone. The expansive American menu offers breakfast, lunch, or dinner 24 hours a day, and the Chinese kitchen offers delectable authentic dishes for lunch, dinner and late-night dining. Wake up to a bottomless cup of freshly brewed coffee, Eggs Benedict smothered with scratch-made hollandaise or a crisp Belgian waffle prepared to order. The prices, variety and quality can’t be beat, from the Coronado Burger to the Wor Won Ton Soup. House specials include Prime rib and porterhouse steak entrees for $12.95, and five graveyard special entrees range from $2.45 to $5.45 seven days a week. Service is fast, friendly and aims to please in Coronado’s bright, comfortable dining room.
With a colorful design and a bright, welcoming atmosphere, South Point's Garden Buffet offers a wide array of selections for unbeatable prices. Choose from six live cooking stations (Asian, Mexican, Italian, Barbecue, Chinese and Seafood dishes) or customize your own creation at the Mongolian Grill. Specialty nights at the Buffet are even better for all you can eat aficionados – fresh oysters, shrimp, crab legs and scallops on Fridays, char-broiled steaks on Mondays, and juicy prime rib on Wednesdays. Garden Buffet’s prices are as fabulous as the food, so everyone can indulge for breakfast, lunch or dinner seven days a week.
With a bright, airy atmosphere and a sleek granite counter surrounding the open kitchen, the Big Sur Oyster Bar displays the talents of its staff and the freshness of its top-quality ingredients. Shrimp, clams, oysters, mussels, lobster, crab, and fresh fish are prepared before your eyes and served at the bar or barside tables. Beers on tap and a selection of wines by the bottle or glass are available for pairing with each expertly created dish. Enjoy dinner after a movie or join a friend for lunch in this fun, social dining venue just off the casino floor.

The hotel was beautiful I was lost for words when I first arrived. I can honestly say it was worth the money and much more ... you never have to leave the hotel for anything. The room was big and cozy and the environment is full of vibrant and pleasant workers making plans to go back real soon. Also, the perfect place for families and couples.

Be aware that when you buy show tickets at discount booths they only give you a voucher, which must be presented at the box office of the show at least an hour ahead of time. To get the best choice of seats from the vendor's allotment, you also need to go to the show's box office as early as possible.

I particularly appreciate that the room was large and the bed was comfortable. The Internet access was also high speed and ... hassle-free: easy connections. What a Relief
Old Folks Away from Home Dec 18, 2009
The South Point Hotel looked good on the internet, the reviews were good and the price was right (and exactly as advertised ... with no hidden costs). We walked into a big, tastefully decorated room with two inviting-looking beds and a huge closet and bath area. We have had many terrible experiences in Las Vegas with dirty, smelly, out-dated rooms so it was a huge relief to finally have a pleasant experience. We have finally found a descent place to sleep on our way to Southern California. The directions to the hotel and the location were great, too. There is no doubt where we'll stay on our return to Utah.

A Nice Place To Stay
C Mac Dec 16, 2009
The South Point during the National Finals Rodeo is the place to be. The nitely buckle presentations and live entertainment ... along with all the rodeo related events going on make this the place to be during the NFR. The hotel is situated a little off the strip making some of the commutes rather expensive. But the over all expereince and free nitely activities made up for the additional travel cost. I would recommend this hotel for your next NFR experience.

The Hotel's ventilation was awful! I expect the casino to be smokey, however, this was among the worst we experienced. Even ... the non-smoking floors - obvious people were smoking there. Because all of the restaurants were in the main casino area, it was seriously bad.

We were there for the rodeo. We found the rooms clean and spacious. We watched the rodeo on one of their big screens. We ... would like to have had more info on what they were offering during the rodeo. If you don't mind not going too far as it is a long way from the strip is is a great place to stay.

Visited family that live in town. We did some shopping and saw a couple of movies. Everything was great, easy to get there ... and to exit. The Hotel and Casino seemed to be clean at all times, the service was pretty good. There was something for all ages, entertainment with arcade, bowling movies, dinning, and night entertainment. South Point gets BIG Points!
FoodieForHire Nov 24, 2009
Let me first say if you are looking for 5 star hotel like the Wynn or Venetian this is not it, but I put on par with all of ... the next level hotels and maybe a little above. This was our second time staying at South Point and it was just as good as the first. If you are looking for great value this is it! A 4 star hotel, 3 miles from the strip, for $45 can't be beat. The rooms are giant over 500sq feet for regular room. king bed rooms have couch, desk, 46" flat screen, and granite counters. Free $25 slot play for joining their players club and a free drink at ever restaurant with a coupon book given to you at check in. The Spa is excellent and modern. A 60 lane bowling alley, 16 screen movie theater, and Arcade for kids makes this hotel an outstanding stay with an amazing price.

This trip was my first time in Las Vegas and i enjoyed my stay. one thing that i liked most was the valet service and bell ... boy. i did not enjoy the constant smokers and the fact that the whole hotel on the casino floor smelled like smoke. It did have another benefit, it was close to the strip maybe a half a mile and the trip was definitely worth it. maybe next time ill check out the spa if prices lower a bit. Also the housekeeping could have been a little better i would appreciate a new towel instead of having to use the same one for my hair and my body for three days.

Think twice before eating at the Garden Buffet on site. It was not "bad" food. But it was very hit-and-miss. Some dishes were okay. Some were bland. But the 2-for-1 coupon we got at check in made it worthwhile. The 24-hour Coronado Cafe is a different story. We stopped in for the "Cab Drivers Specials" (between 12-6am) and had a good-sized and tasty breakfast for cheap.

The Italian restaurant is great--for desert, the tiramasu is the way to go(the canoli is so so). Use the coupon book the hotel gives you at check-in (free desert and some money towards the casino). Poker at this casino had a nice crowd (i.e. not pretentious headphone wearing, sunglass sporting, etc.)
