great hotel off the strip

This hotel is a good place to stay if you don't mind staying off the strip. There is a laser light show at night and plenty of things for the kids to do, with an arcade and movies.

Smoking Sam's

Subway, McD, TGI, and buffet options. Bowling and movie theater. Laser show with water set to music was fun. Outdoor pool crowded and small. Casino average and smoke filled. Rooms on eighth floor smelled of smoke from ventilation system even though designated nonsmoking. Furniture in room worn and tired. Bathrooms need overhaul. Okay for families except for smoke exposure and having to walk thru casino to get anywhere. Buffet was lack luster $10-20. Area around hotel was next to busy road, in a poor neighborhood. Hotel charges extra $100 hold fee for 5 days.

staff was very friendly; easy check-in/out; rooms were very clean and welcoming; this is not just a hotel- casino, but there are many things for kids to do, i e: an animated show featuring various animals of the north America wild set in natural habitat, a rain forest patio that provides for great rest and relaxation or read a book etc, there is a multi-cinema movie theater featuring all the latest movie releases; a food court and many other restaurants to satisfy any appetite. We will definately be staying here again. Also, there are shopping malls near - great location.

We loved our beginning of summer getaway. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was right there and we even got a free upgrade to a room overlooking the park. Awesome.

Nice, affordable place to stay. Definitely not 4 star.

I enjoy staying here because they have an awesome bowling alley and movie theaters inside the hotel. Also, the beds were fairly comfortable, but the room is 3 star at best.

Good, But not as great as last time!

We stayed here last year and got the deal of a life time! Stayed in a suite for the price of a regular room and it was wonderful. This time around we wanted a king size bed, didn't really matter what floor, but the gal didn't even pay any attention to us when we asked her after she told us about the room. Also the big thing that bugged me was the $9.95 fee that was attached to the bill after we paid Ortiz their price! That didn't happen last year with the "other" company we went thru last year. Not happy about that! When I see a price for a room, I like to see the total, not just part of the price!

Great value

Nice clean room and great value for the price. Poor hotel layout directions. Could have better signage from garage #2 to lobby, but ok after we became familiar with hotel & casino. Great free light show we enjoyed from our room window.
