Stupid trip

When I got to the hotel, There was no smoking rooms available and i made my reservation 2 weeks ago. Then they made me pay a surcharge fee for the room. The next day I had to wait until 4 to transfer to a regular room. The pipes were running all night and a guy was demolishing the wall to fix the pipes. Then the hotel staff tried to run me out of my room before I checked out.

Affordable hotel on Vegas strip.

This was a family trip so we did more sight-seeing. To get to a lot of the good spots killed time walking so I suggest renting a car if possible, because even catching the bus takes awhile from where we were located. Overall, you get what you paid for...it wasn't too bad.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

It's a long walk from where all the cool spots are, so I suggest hopping on the bus or rent a car to get to places.

Stayed 4 nights. Guys week away

Stayed at the Riviera for 4 nights. Met up with some friends who were there for a function. The Riviera is on the Strip, BUT it is not in the thick of things. It is really far away from the other "Big" Casino/Hotels. Circus Circus was across the street... yipeee (Cue Sarcasm). My hotel room was very nice. It was quiet and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom sink was a little rusty around the drain, but other than that it was alright. Not the biggest Casino, and not alot of games open most of the day/night. I wouldn't stay here again due to location. Food in the food court was excellent. The 24 hour cafe was so/so. I only ate there once for breakfast. Not overly impressed. Pool looked okay, but the weather was cold so didn't go in. didn't see a hot tub. IT ACTUALLY hailed one day. Crazy Vegas Desert Trip

Had a great time!!

Stayed at the Riviera for a week in April and had a great time!! Saw the reviews and didn't know what to expect... First night there they overbooked, so they put us into a Penthouse suite. It was so big you could get lost in there... For the rest of the week we were in the Monaco tower in a 2 bedroom suite. It was nice, new furniture, plasma, air conditioning. Beds were really nice. Be aware that the Riviera is an older building, and its about 1 mile from the MGM and the other huge resorts. Get to Deuce $7 for all day pass - takes you up and down the strip. Casino is not huge, but is nice. BJ, three card poker, single deck BJ, poker room, let it ride and pow gow poker were the table games. It had plenty of Poker machines. Table games start from $5. Opposite the Riviera is a McDonalds and the Circus Circus casino. The buffet in the Riviera is good bfast priced starting @ $11. Dealers and Staff were very helpful and friendly - need anything then they are more then willing to accommodate. Defiantly recommend the Riviera!!!

average stay

i was a little disappointed at the few number of people playing table games at the riviera, compared to some of the other casinos we visited,i like alot of action, and not to be the only one at a table,i know mon. - thurs. is probably slow for everyone but seemed slower at the riviera. i did enjoy the friendlyness of the poker pit boss, i think his title is,cant remember his name but he is oriental and a super good guy, then on the other hand there was a amercian pit boss at the poker room that seemed cocky and unpleasant.but overall we had a really good time and love the 50k freeroll tourny coming up in dec. i will be back may 6th at the venetian hotel and plan to visit the poker room again at the riviera and try to get my max 5 entrys for the dec. tourny, otherwise i dont know if i can justify coming in dec.also it would be nice if there were more hotels within walking distance from the riviera.
