Great Room, but
2 major problems. The hotel had overbooked for that week due to the APA national pool tourniment ans they sent us to the stratosphere for 2 nights and then we came back on monday. Once in the grand suite everything was really nice. Casino is very nice and the pool area was aslo good. the second major problem occured on checkout day when the elevators broke down so at 4 AM we had to walk down 15 flights of stairs with luggage so we would not be late for the plane. The overall room experience was very good, just getting in the room and trying to leave the room to go home was rather aggrevating.

Shopping tip:
In Hotel
The shopping at the Riviera is very good price wise due to being off the main strip and being an older hotel and casino

Not too bad, but not too great either
The Wifi signal didn't reach our room, and the ambiance was not 'three star'. Apart from that, we also had a beautiful view of two Carrier AC condensers (and nothing else) from our tiny window. Definitely worth considering if you get a really good deal (like $50 a day or something), but otherwise it's not too great of a Hotel.

Poor Customer Service
Valet great, bell hop retrieving my bags also great. Desk clerk awful. They overbooked which happens, but it was the way that I was treated that left a very bad taste. I also sent three different emails complaining to the Riviera. To date, I have not received a response. Even if you book months in advance as I did and receive a confirmation a week before you leave, be forewarned that they still may not have a room for you when you get there.

Great value and close to theLasVegas Convention Center
Without a doubt, the Riveira could use some sprucing up, but it isn't bad! If you have business at the Las Vegas Convention Center you can't do better than the Riviera for location and value. My room was comfortable and clean. I will patronize the Riviera again.

Disappointing Accomodations
From it's back alley main entrance to a confusing layout, we were not impressed with the Riviera. The room was not very well cleaned, the tub/shower and bath sink did not drain well, even after maintenance came and said they fixed it. The highlight was the pool area and the service staff there.

Good value for the money
The Riviera is one of the older casinos and it shows. It is not as large or flashy as the other casinos. It is also not centrally located on the strip so you are forced to walk or get transportation to the center of action. It was clean and service was good. August is a very hot month is Vegas. It was over 100 degrees during the day.
