Great for the $$$

I only have 2 complaints, everything else was EXCELLENT! 1. Just not enough parking in main parking garage or even valet. Had to go to parking further away...still free and on the premises but not as convenient. 2. Pillows were rock hard! Had to request softer ones and they only had ONE...really ONE!

Fall Break Get away

The Riviera Hotel's staff was excellent and courteous. I loved the fact that the hotel was separated from the other hotels yet close enough to get to them very quickly.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Get a pass from the RTC for 24 hours for 8.00 or a 3-day pass for 18.00. The system runs 24 hours a day and takes you everywhere you need to go. The bus runs every 15-20 minutes.

Classic Vegas, but the bigwigs have moved on to New Vegas.

Staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, some of the current guests did not reflect the class of the hotel's famous guests of the 1950s through 1980s. It was also a bit disturbing that my air conditioning unit did not work for about 24 hours during my three-day stay, and that the bathroom sink marble had a large crack in it. Finally, be aware of the limited pool hours (10AM-6PM# and plan accordingly. To get to the newer strip resorts, I would recommend the 3-day $20 bus pass #a two-hour pass is $6#. However, very careful about when you buy it, because if it has expired by even a minute #even if your bus is late!), you will have to buy another.

First timer

Overall a good experience, the only issue for me was the location. Too far (walking) from the Freemont experience and from the big name hotels but for the price and history behind the Riviera; I will go back. One more thing.. Let's not forget the Crazy Girls!!!!

Riviera Las Vegas

Room was adequate at best. Old décor, water faucets on bathroom sink seemed to be on backwards and so old they weren't really working well. Definitely needs updating.

Staying overnight

Good place to stay for the weekend. Super affordable rooms, and it is on the strip (albeit at the end of the strip). You will need a good pair of walking shoes if you want to traverse to the other side, but for what I paid for, it was a steal. The rooms were clean, they have bars, casinos, barber shop, outdoor pool etc...everything you would expect to have in a Vegas hotel. Will stay again.

Great stay

I gave my review a 4 star, because the room elevators are spread out over a wide area, which made it a bit difficult for me. The hotel itself, however, was quite satisfactory, my room was clean and quiet, bed was comfortable. I was completely satisfied except for the long walks.

Showing its age but good value with caveats.

I spent 4 nights there and here is my review: Room: Clean, and had the usual amenities. Toilet was like you would find at a school or Walmart. Shower needed to be bleached. Towels were excellent and plentiful. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room keys: I had issues with the room keys as they were worn and had to insert them several times to get them to work. Annoying but not a huge deal. Amenities: ABC store is a nice touch and prices were not too bad and they had liters of water for a buck. they carry everything from wine to fruit to toiletries. Vicky's Tavern has a great burger special which includes fries and a pint of beer for 10.00. Great burger and good fries which came out hot. Service there is good. However, they advertise in several places on the web that they have 90 taps but they really only have about 12 but good ones. When I asked they said that they did about 5 years ago. The Banana Leaf Cafe had breakfast deals which were decent. There is a bus stop right outside which goes north and south is across the street out side Slots of Fun. The Riv has a dedicated channel on the TV spouting what they offer and it needs to be updated in regards to the gym. I was pumped after I initially saw the promo for it. Then you get up there and it is a different story. No attendant, no water other than the bathroom or the vending machine. The ad said they provide water and there is an attendant. The weight equipment and machines are out of the early 80's and some do not work. A few need attention and I did call down to the desk to tell them which ones. There is ample cardio equipment and there are plenty of towels. There is 1 bathroom and no water fountain. The one that was there was pulled out. I did not use the pool but walked around and it was busy and clean. Each morning I looked out my window and saw it being cleaned. Summary: Decent but the place is 60 years old and needs work and needs to redo the promos on the TV channel they have. I paid about 38 a night INCLUDING the resort fee which i think is more than fair. If you were to stay at a Motel 6 you would pay more. Would I stay here again? Maybe considering the price and what I know to expect. Place is clean and seems safe. Security is visible and they are very friendly friendly. Each time I asked about a location of something they introduced themselves and shook my hand. Nice touch. This was not my first trip to Vegas.
