Not Bad

It's easy to see that the Riviera used to be the hotel to be at. The rooms themselves aren't too bad at all. It was very clean and the room was pretty big in size. The casino is pretty dull throughout the day because most people are gambling at the larger casinos instead. The buffet is kind of questionable. It is nice to have as many options for food as the Riviera does and to have a convenient store in the middle of everything. I do wish they renovate the Riviera soon to bring it back to the place it once was.

Riviera for pool tourney

I didn't expect much from Riviera because I know it is one of the older hotels on the strip but my purpose was to shoot in the tourney so I didn't care about the extras and that's just what I got. My room view was of the old pool of decades ago - empty with tiles missing. They do have a larger, newer pool in the back but the tall building surround it so if you are planning on sunning long it's not going to work. The nice thing about the pool area is that it is not like the other resorts so if you want a chair to lay on, there are plenty around because hardly anybody uses the area. They are trying their best to make the Riviera look great but there is only so much you can do. If you have a need for just a room and nothing else for a good deal, the Riviera is for you. It's a lot better than Circus Circus.

The cool part of the hotel is that they have a couple of little stores inside that sell a lot of things you may need like sundries, soda, etc and they sell it reasonably.

Riviera near Las Vegas Convention Center

I chose to stay near the LV Convention Center without paying an arm and a leg or settling for a standard national chain. The room was nice enough, the staff were great. I could walk to the Convention Center or Monorail stop in ~12 minutes once I learned the cut-through(s). Took in a couple fun comedy routines in their StarLight theater and they provided me with decent advice, coupons, and tips for attending other LV Strip performances. Pool was nice, workout area was a bit weak. Saw some nice pool contested during their tournamment. Casino seemed OK but I don't play. Food and supplies were pretty high priced, but are in most if not all of the Hotels.

Great Place to Stay

I havent stayed at the Riveria in a couple of years until now. They were doing construction then but the accomodations were still very good. The room was clean and nice. They have flat screens in the room. I didnf turn the tv on because I was not in the room much. When I was in the room during day sleeping the curtains blacked out the room well. Air conditioning worked well. Staff was friendly. I would highly recommend staging here.
