Staff needs Customer Service Training

It was our 10th visit to Las Vegas. The noise and glitter of the hotels on the Strip didn't appeal to us this time so we opted for a quiet refuge with a close proximity to almost everything else. We expected a lot but was extremely disappointed with the staff on how they handled our problems with the internet and how rude they were when they responded to our inquiries about the Special Amex Discount. They probably did not need us to come back and they even pushed us not to recommend their hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean, decent size. However, sound proofing was very poor. I could hear the next door guests talking while I was in the bathroom.

Debit Card/Bank Card Holders Beware!!!

Blindsided! So, I thought I had booked a 4 star hotel at a bargain price. Upon checking-in I was blindsided with the incidental fees! This was not explained anywhere when I made my reservation. There is a $50 per day incidental fee, which will be charged to your debit card/bank card, and later refunded to your account when you check out. The only way they don't actually charge the $50 per day is if you use an actual credit card like Amex, Discover, etc. So if you don't own an actual credit card, be prepared for the ding in your wallet. Usually hotels keep your card on file but don't actually charge it. +PROS: Overall the hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. Housekeeping did an excellent job in our room. The lounge was really nice and the setting was very comfortable. The front desk was actually nice enough to inform me about the $50 they were going to charge on our card... -NEG: Cable went out for an entire day. We had to have a tech come to our room to fix it, because our signal never came back. On this same day the pool was closed for more than half a day because a kid pooped in it. The pool was shut down until the following day after it was cleaned and tested. When the pool was finally opened, maintaining clean towels was a problem. No one was stocking clean towels or picking up the used wet ones.

Review of Hotel

Hotel was clean and close to monorail, which was great. the alarm (or some beeping noise) in the room next to us was going on for the entire first day of our stay. When we called about it, they never checked on it like they said they would. The next morning (after an annoying sleep) we called again and they finally went and turned it off. After 5 hours, it started again. Not sure what it was, but it made being in the room very unpleasant.

dont check in late or expect the valet to be there

We checked in late, and as is common at hotels when you check in late while using a discount service like this, they stuck us in their worst room. We got the handicap bathroom where the shower floods the entire bathroom when you use it, unless you put a dozen towels down on the floor. The housekeeping staff said everyone has that problem with that room and they never fix it no matter how many complaints they get. The solution would be a $2 piece of rubber so there's really no excuse. We never saw the valet the entire time we were there, but they supposedly offer valet service. The person who checked us in at the front desk, I overheard her telling someone else to leave the keys with her because the valet was so backed up you wouldn't want to wait for him. Even at less busy times I never actually saw the valet guy. Luckily the self parking was pretty convenient. The rest of the room aside from the bathroom was good enough. The hotel itself was attractive and well maintained from what I could tell. And the price was quite a bit lower than the other options I had. Overall, I wish I could say I was surprised that I got a bad room, but regularly checking into hotels after midnight, I find your odds of getting a good room at anyb hotel are pretty slim. That said, there was no reason this hotel even needed to have a bad room, as the solution to our problem would have cost all of $2, and the hotel has long been aware of the issue.

Vegas Star

I loved this hotel because there wasn't a casino in the lobby! That means no smoke or loud slot machines, but the hotel was connected to the light rail to get to anywhere you want to go in Vegas. VERY CONVENIENT!

Perfect for convention center people

If you are going to the convention center, you won't get much closer than this. Having to pay for internet was not so cool, but no other fees like a lot of other hotels try to put on you like for parking, etc.. A nice peaceful place.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

They have a small cafe, but it isn't open real late like in the casino hotels, and there isn't too much right next door without walking a bit. Not good if you're hungry late at night...plan ahead. They have a fancy restaurant but we didn't check it out.

Just fine...

Everything was great....we should have known better than staying off the strip. It was our bad choice, not the hotel's problem.

Quiet, smoke-free location off strip

The Renaissance was a refuge from the crowds on the strip during the final week of spring break. In spite of a posted 3 pm check in time, we were settled in a room following our morning flight. The Easter Brunch seemed popular with locals.

Great place for families

This is an excellent hotel for families. We went to Las Vegas because of its central position for sightseeing - Grand Canyon, California. We were not there for the gambling and other things that are more adult. This hotel has NO casino. It is located adjacent to the monorail station which goes to the strip. Further, there is an easy to access parking garage that was free when we were there. It allowed us to simply drive to the strip when we wanted to. The hotel has an outdoor pool which is inside a courtyard, so it is in the shade most of the day. It also makes it sheltered from the city. We had a room on the West side which has a fabulous view of the strip.
