Nice Girl
Do not stay here! NO!
I stayed in the courtyard. As soon as I walked in, I had a sneaking feeling I did not belong - place looked rough. It was also worrysome that the person who checked me in made a big deal about out how they keep a deposit of $100 on your credit card in case you ruin something. What do you think I plan to do in my room? The smell of stagnant water and mold greeted you when you entered the room, the carpet was icky and I didn't take my shoes off. Towels were grey and smelled odd. The worst part was the noise ALL night. There were people loudly talking in all rooms around me, smoking, playing the guitar and singing drunk country songs. Twice during the night , someone pounded on my door and there were several incidents of someone checking if it was locked. I could here security dealing with folks in the hall. I felt afraid to leave my room. The place may have been called "Palace" but it felt like a dirty halfway house for criminals. NO!

Bates Motel
This was a stinky and dengy place, the mattress are worn out, curtains were grimy looking, carpet was old and i didn't want to walk on it with my shoes. The best thing about the room was the bathroom because it was update. The room was so out dated the paint on the desk was chipped and the desk and chair were old. I will never stay there again. We stayed 1 nite and left and stayed at a much nicer hotel.

The hotel had updates and remodeling 3-4 years ago. But seems to need a redo again. The room was okay for the price. Did not spend alot of time in the room as we were busy sight-seeing.

Not what I expected
The staff was friendly. I never could get the WiFi that my resort fee was supposed to pay for. One of the two pools was closed...wasn't there a commercial where the traveling gnome let people know about this stuff. When I booked the room it said there was a coffee maker in the room. I was informed by the front desk that had changed. I told them that is false advertising and someone should be updating their website and those of hotel brokers. I see that they have removed that as an amenity. The hallway in the courtyard room smelled terrible, but the room smelled OK and was clean. It could have used new carpet lots of stains. You had to use your key to open the door to leave the courtyard hallways (maybe as a safety measure so small children couldn't get to the pool) however it made me worry what would happen if here was an emergency or fire. The price was almost the exact same as one on the strip but I thought I was getting a coffee maker. If you want quiet I would go but get as tower room as they appear to be redone. Otherwise I think you can get just as good bargains on the strip with nicer rooms.

IT was good but could have been better!
I went to go relax in the pool..only one of the hotel's two pools were open. And getting to the one that was opened was very confusing. The pools seemed to be designed to be used by the people staying in the courtyard rooms. People from the tower rooms don't have a pool of their own. Other then that, the staff, security and valet were all very friendly and helpful

first time Vegas visit
I was in Vegas for the first time. I had 3 days... need more to really enjoy I bet... this was a good place for economy for that first venture. Seasoned Vegasites probably want a place closer to the Strip but they do have a shutle bus at least. The only problem I had was the lack of an elevator in the Courtyard section where I stayed. Even on the 2nd floor I may be getting lazy but still don't want to be always walking on the stairs. Also I am not sure but the feather pillows may have not helped allergies and asthma much.
