Great time we were there for the Rodeo Finals and found the hotel to be just great. Being from Illinois where there is no ... Smoking allowed in public places the Smoking was bothersome in the Casino and did follow us to the room even though we were in a no smoking room. Other than that was just great. Would have liked an auto matic coffee maker in room.

This hotel was ok, the rooms were not as nice as other hotels we have stayed in, in Vegas. It was clean and most of the ... staff was nice. I just couldn't believe they charge 15.00 a day for internet connection. Don't know if that is normal in Vegas or not.

Not worth the money
Won't go back Dec 6, 2009
Overpriced everything. From the ridiculous daily resort fee, which offered nothing, to the food and drinks, everything was ... overpriced. I could walk across the street to the MGM and save $3 per drink, at a nicer bar. Rooms were small, and clean overall, but there were moldy vents in the bathroom. Everday there was at least one escalator broken.

Such a great honeymoon idea
Bek and Ryan "The Newlyweds" Dec 5, 2009
Of course there are the bad expierences no matter where you go and NY NY hotel and casino are no different. Almost the entire ... staff of this hotel were so friendly and inviting it felt like a little home away from home even in busy las vegas. But when we went to the hair salon, not only was it over-priced for just a hair STYLE, no shampooing or cut for that matter, but the service itself was miserable. You are supposed to come out feeling like a pampered guest not a sucker taken for a trip. Overall the trip was fantastic and couldn't have asked for a better deal or experience for our honeymoon. It being winter times meant that the pool was closed but you take what you can get.

If you are going ANYWHERE on the strip I would truly recommend the "deuce" a bus service that is 24 hours and has frequent stops along the entire strip. wait times of 5-10min in-between buses was typical.

Ernest T Dec 3, 2009
Seems to be a sign of the times, but they charge for everything. If you need to use a computer it will cost you a dollar a ... minute. Access to airline boarding pass in their business center is suppose to be free but I never got it to work for Delta Airlines. Finally had to pay and go to my email address to access boarding pass. Great location though. Easy access across pedestrian brige to MGM Grand or Excalibur. Catch the tram at the Excalibur and save walking and time to Luxor and Mandalay Bay.

Best meal was a Gonzalez/Gonzalez mexican cuisine. Others too expensive. Happy hour at Mandalay Bay the cheapest on the Strip.

The bed was super-conformatble and all the sheets were well cleaned etc. The staff are friendly and they gave us a good strip ... view room but still costly compared to newer Planet Hollywood kind of casinos. NY-NY has lost how good it was a couple years before. It looks ordinary from outside and inside its just ok. I recommend staying somewhere in mid-strip, since the north and south are becoming shaddy nowadays

I'm a cyclist, and on two days I rented a bicycle from Las Vegas Cyclery on West Charleston Blvd., about 8-9 miles from the hotel. There's a great loop ride, about 33 miles, from the bike shop out to Red Rock Canyon and back. Rental cost is about $60 a day for a speedy carbon racing bike; they'll rent a helmet too [I brought my own]. If you don't bike, Red Rock and Valley of Fire State Park are worth the trip by car; both places also have good, easy day hikes.
