Not What I Expected -- In A Bad Way!

I've been to Vegas before and stayed at 3 other hotels and I was ready to give NYNY a chance. After this trip, my first visit will be my last. When checking in, I was told non-smoking rooms were all taken, but for an extra $100 I could upgrade and get a non-smoking room. The towels looked like someone else had used them and after calling the front desk, housekeeping dealt with it by refolding the towels -- I've heard of water conservation but I don't share towels with people I like much less total strangers. I had the unpleasant experience of finding an imprint of someone else's dirty body parts on the towel after my shower. ICK! This hotel was not a good experience. Stay somewhere else.

Eat breakfast at America -- relatively cheap compared to other sit down places in hotel and the food was good, hot and they gave us a small carafe of coffee for the table.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

PROS: We paid extra and got a Broadway Deluxe room - extra large with a view of the strip. Definitely worth the extra dollars. That's about where the good stuff ended.CONS: There was only one clerk on duty when we checked in and at least 12 groups in line. This should have been the tip-off that service would be bad. Took forever! We got back to our room after 11:00pm the second night and it was still not cleaned. We called to complain and were told that the maid must not have checked back after we left the room. They offered to come clean it, but we were ready for bed and declined. No offer to comp anything or even a sincere apology.[...] Was told no kings were available and it was never entered in the system so we'd just have to live with it. The night clerk told me to tell the day clerk if the bed was unsuitable the next day and they could work out some type of comp. When I complained to the day clerk, I was told no note was entered in the system by the night clerk, so there was nothing they could do until the clerk reported for work. Unfortunately, he was not scheduled for 2 days - and by then we'd be gone. There is absolutely NOTHING special about NYNY. For the same rate we could have gotten as good a room with much better service. We will never stay or gamble here again. They have lost our business forever. And if you're smart you'll go elsewhere also.

Not worth the money

Overpriced everything. From the ridiculous daily resort fee, which offered nothing, to the food and drinks, everything was overpriced. I could walk across the street to the MGM and save $3 per drink, at a nicer bar. Rooms were small, and clean overall, but there were moldy vents in the bathroom. Everday there was at least one escalator broken.

'Not very good'

We had an incident in the hotel that left us with negative feelings. My husband was attacked, and the attacher took his glasses and threatened him with a knife. It was early in the morning, no one was drinking just sitting playing at a machine. The security people were there to see the guy run. It cost us $ to get new glasses,(+$400) and taxis to and from the eye doctor,($100) and an extra day at the hotel. They didn't comp us a thing. We asked about getting a shuttle to the eye doctor, we were told that since we weren't VIPs that no they didn't do that. This was on their property and there was a report filed but no one was concerned. So we would NOT recommend them... stay someplace else.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

If your looking for a good sleep in a nice bed; then stay far away from the New York Hotel. You litterally feel the springs in the matresses. The comforter felt like Levi jeans rubbing across my skin. My freind caught a horrible crook in his neck, and preffered to sleep on the floor versus the bed. There is no coffee maker in the room. The hotel is such a penny pincher, that they don't even allow you to freely check your email at a desktop computer. You can loose $5000 gambling but you cant check your email for free, what a joke. What do you expect from a hotel besides a good sleep, and computer access and coffee. Take my advice stay else where!

Not good

Well the mood of the trip started off sour. We arrived late in the evening after a hour long flight delay only to finally arrive at our hotel, New York New York, when it was our turn at the check in desk we did not even get a hello we were greeted with "ID and credit card please" really! Very Rude and we were in Vegas to get married. I had requested a non smoking room so of coarse they had none available, so we were stuck in a stinky smelly room. Also, I had requested a room with a king size bed, I was there for my wedding night so nope none of those either! So to recap: rudely treated at reception, smelly room 2 beds and the tv remote didn't work and no stations on the TV came in clear. Needless to say I will not stay at New York New York again.

Not the Cleanest or most price efficient

The Hotel had many hidden fees from the get go. Upon check in I hade to pay a resort fee. All we received that was extra were two free drink vouchers that were only good at expensive restaurants or clubs or a crowded bar. We also received a 20% off coupon for one of their well overpriced shops. Once we got to the room it just got worse. The bathroom was filthy and the AC was left off so the room was about a hundred degrees and stinky. Upon checkout there was another resort fee applied. This place is an absolute joke. Oh and before I forget. Don't get room service! Everything is a 1000% mark up and they add 18% gratuity and a $3 resort fee per item. Lame.
