The New York New York Hotel Las Vegas was opened in 1997, at a time when Las Vegas enjoyed a spate of newly-designed themed hotels. The resort is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, and a stay at the New York New York really is uncannily like taking a leisurely stroll through the Big Apple itself. Gaze up at the magnificent Statue of Liberty replica overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, ride the Big Apple Coaster (reminiscent of Coney Island's heyday) or dine at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog. Evening entertainment is provided by the internationally-renowned Cirque du Soleil in their sensual show Zumanity; why not enjoy a fruity pre-show Manhattan cocktail at the Bar at Times Square beforehand? Get into the real spirit of Vegas at the 1,500 slots and 67 gaming tables within the 84,000-square-foot casino.

Neighborhood
The NY-NY, as it's known locally, is situated just north of McCarran Airport and the famous 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' road sign. There's so much to do at the resort that decisions become tough, but it's simple to travel to other parts of the Strip, either on foot via monorail, or by taking the Deuce -a bus service that travels along Las Vegas Boulevard all the way to Fremont Street -where visitors can witness free sparkling light shows in the evenings.
Hints and tips
Celebrating a special occasion while vacationing in Las Vegas? Pop a bottle of NY-NY branded champagne, available exclusively on hotel grounds. Just let the staff know and they'll make sure it's chilled, ready and waiting for you when you check in (fees apply).

Great time in New York- in Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas for a quick one night trip as we were close by and I'd never been. My wife's family lives a few hours away. The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice. Our room was great and very comfortable. The only down side to it was that if faced the west and the afternoon sun and 114 degree temps in Vegas were brutal. The AC unit in our room seemed old and probably needed a new filter or some cleaning as the air flow was pitiful even on High. Other than that it was great. Easy access to Excalibur, Luxor and Monte Carlo and then to Bellagio and Ceasar's via the tram. The only other issue I had was after paying our $22 resort fee and getting up to our room, my wife noticed another $50 charge on our bank account. When we asked about it the next morning when checking out we were told it was there for incidentals and was being put back and would be back in 3 days. Overall, not a big deal, but I really think they should tell you before putting a $50 hold on your money. that little difference would have given them a 5 star I think... Overall, had a great time at NewYork New York!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If there in the summer, drink LOTS of water. Dehydration is a major issue.

First timers to Las Vegas

So glad we booked at this hotel! We really loved everything about our experience here. The bed was extremely comfortable and even though part of the roller coaster was outside our window, we did not hear any noise. The location was amazing!! No complaints really...only issue with cleanliness was lots of dust on top of armoire...would definitely return.

Great 21st birthday celebration!!

Had a wonderful stay! Very clean, comfortable rooms. Lots to do right in this hotel. Pool was nice, with cabanas to rent. Plenty of eateries to choose from too. Just wish it was more centrally located, quite a hike to get to Bellagio or Caesar's Palace.

Parent getaway

Hotel was great and really nice restaurants however expensive. The extra $20.00 a day for the room was frustrating as well as the extra tacked on at the spa. Drinks were very expensive. My wife was also burned at the spa while getting her eyebrows waxed. Love vegas but will likely stay elsewhere next time.

After starting a business and getting the business off the ground I was finally able to take a vacation The New York NewYork Hotel was a great place to stay the entire hotel was spotless staff was friendly and professional . There was a variety of restaurants to choose from it's pretty close to everything (malls, activities etc.)the downside is that the pool should be opened a little later

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

All of the Major hotel&casino are pretty close to each other and the city caters to pedestrians I wouldn't rent a car because it takes longer to get there the way the roads are set up and all the traffic. A lot of the activities offer free shuttle services and if your running late you could catch a cab they are always available and most rides are $10 or less
