Outdated and in need of renovation
Check-in was terrible! Had to change rooms twice as they placed us in a smoking room first, then in a room where someone had vomitted on the floor!

Monte Carlo
The casino wasn't bad - lots of slot machines, and there was a relatively inexpensive food court with McDonald's, Sbarro, etc. The location wasn't good for me because my friends were staying in the Venetian, which doesn't look like it's too far away, but when you walk, it's about 3.5 miles each way... The hotel room itself was a great disappointment. There were several dirty spots, and there was also a big WET spot (spill?) on the carpeting, that basically made me stay on the tile entrance way for most of the stay. I hate paying for a whole hotel room, when I only get to use 33% of it...I did complain at the desk 2x, but they never really did anything to resolve this. If you have a room facing the pool, there will be loud music playing in the afternoon - don't plan on a nap!

never again
The shower felt like you were being pressure washed. Had to call the front desk to have our room made up at 11:00pm. They claimed we were in the room too long, yet we left at 10:00 am to shop all day then dinner with friends...Put a do not disturb sign on our door only to have housekeeping slam the vacuum into the outside of the door while they cleaned the hallway. Sheets were only half way put on the bed. Towels smelled like smoke. Pool was dirty and water was hot. Drinks in the casino... heh, they forgot to put anything in them but the wash. I would never stay here again ...

Staff Great, Facilities Not So Great
Stayed at the Monte Carlo for a Bachelorette Party/Weekend. All the staff at the hotel were great and provided a high end feel. However, the actual facilities fell short. The room was a bit dirty. The elevator floors were always dirty and sticky. The pool area should be great with a wave pool, a lazy river, and a regular pool. However, the chairs are packed in like sardines, a little worn out, and felt kind of like a giant apartment complex pool. The hotel was fine for why we were there, but I wold not stay here if I spent money to go to Vegas for a getaway. Feels a little motel-ish.

Lovely Lobby
The location was good being right on the strip and having access to the tram to other hotels. The rooms need to be updated, wallpaper coming off in the bathroom, but the beds were great! It was an okay trip but the resort fee (which gets taxed per night)was a little too much.

Go to Holstein's at the Cosmopolitan for WONDERFUL burgers and adult milk shakes. YUMMY! They also have non alcoholic shakes and other treats. Loved the Belaggio for brunch in the atrium where you will be greeted by beautiful hydrangeas, and other assorted flowers. The breakfast fruit plate is wonderful and the omelets looked fabulous.

Monte Carlo Down Low
We spent most of our time outside by the pool. We requested a room with a view of the strip and got one over looking the pool. We had some issues with house keeping leaving our room unlocked after cleaning it. Then house keeping came back into our room for unusual "turn down service" that the hotel does not normally provide.

disappointed
I was pretty disappointed with the hotel considering the price for the room. The room didn't even have a fridge or a microwave and the carpet and chairs were stained. My boyfriend and I were on the 25th floor overlooking the pools. The music from the pool area was extremely loud and continued all day until 7pm. The next morning they were doing sound checks at 8:30am! Also, the electronic lock on the door was broken and the service guy came to repair it while we were in the room. Apparently, he didn't fix it right since the door still could not lock correctly after he left. The check in lines were very disorganized with no single line arrangement and the elevators were slow and crowded. The way the elevators were split up according to floors are supposed to alleviate crowding but their system seems to work in reverse. You can get a better experience at the Luxor hotel for a cheaper price and the rooms are a thousand times better and cleaner.

just doesn't deliver!
This hotel gave claim to luxury, it didn't really come through. We were awakened early in the morning by drills and hammers in the next room. Service in the buffet was very, very slow and the food less than exciting. We really enjoyed the pool area but felt it closed too early (7pm) and then offered no evening pool activities...disappointing! The other areas of the hotel just didn't have a pop to them. We found ourselves often going "next door" to find more enjoyable activites and much tastier buffets. Should have booked next door to begin with.

The buffet in the hotel just doesn't measure up! Very slow service and the food was not exciting at all. We found better buffets in hotels next door and reasonably priced foods in the shopping areas across the street.
