"Unpretentiously luxurious" is the catchphrase used by Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and it definitely holds true. Very accomodating hotel
Front desk clerk went out of his way to make sure we had a king size bed. Bed side lamp and safety deposit box were not working when we first arrived in the room, but were fixed very quickly after we made a request. Very comfortable bed.

Good location for the Rock n Roll 1/2
Good location for what we were in town for (Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon) and made it a short walk after we finished. Good eats nearby, CVS right by the hotel for anything you might have forgotten to pack. In our case, we were short of ibuprofen, oops! There are only 2 things that disappointed me during the stay: 1) lack of mini fridge and 2) Wifi was not available everywhere. The fridge for a room tends to be hit or miss where ever you stay (stayed at TI 2 weeks earlier and had one in the room). But, lack of wifi is less forgivable when a "resort fee" is charged every day. We were lucky because of the high floor our room was on but that makes it no less excusable. This is 2012, everyone uses wifi enabled devices! My stay this time was my first average/above average experience staying here as my previous trips had been good or excellent. And I had even recommended friends to stay here.

We went for the marathon. Could have catered to the runners but overall was a good choice. Relatively quiet with comfortable beds.

I stayed four nights. The staff was very friendly and the maids did a great job. My only negative comment is you can only connect to the internet via their ethernet cords, as the hotel does not have wireless.

Friendly service and great location
We stayed at the Monte Carlo for the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon and it was perfect for the starting and ending locations. The staff was friendly and helpful providing us with extra towels and water bottles and helping us with all the other requests and questions we had. Their rooms are clean and sufficiently large. We used the tram so much, it was quite a blessing after running a half marathon. I would stay here again. Oh their gym could use a little cleaning up. There were dust bunnies under the weights and the mats had seen better days. The rest of the equipment was fine.

Great Hotel, Great Value even with the bogus $20 per night fee
My only complaint is the $20.00 a day fee they charge for things you may not use. It says they charge the &20 a day for "wired" internet...(really? there is no network connection on my tablet or my phone and I don't carry a network cable around anyway), 2 small bottles of water (and if you don't drink your bottles from the day before they don't give you any more...), and 2 K-cups for the kerug (I like cream in my coffee so, I was going down stairs and paying $4.00 a cup at starbucks because all they give in the room is a foil envelope with some powdered stuff in it). All in all, I wish they had just charged the $20 to the per night room charge instead of making me feel I got ripped off. It is still great value. Right on the strip! It is aging a bit and it shows here and there but, I'd stay here again and that is the real review. Don't expect it to be the Mandarin and it's great! They did give us a $50 gift card for Crystal, a high end mall with great shops but, we never used it.

Love, the Cirque du Soleil beatles tribute. Amazing! I didn't really want to go as I thought it would be like the other cirque shows. Boy, was I wrong! I had an ear to ear smile the whole time!

Outdated
Only word that comes to my mind about Monte Carlo is outdated. The room was okay.. but the hallway and casinos were smelly and outdated. The restaurants are so pathetic that we couldnt use resort credit. Everything in the room looked so outdated and old... Do not waste your money on this, if you are looking for budget check other casinos, and if not on budget spend a little extra and go to Aria / Cesars / Wynn or even Luxor

I love the staying here
If I could change one thing about the Monte Carlo it would be the check in process. It is really bad, this was like my 10-12 time staying there and that is one thing that has never changed. You have folks walking around but not enough checking in, when you get off the long flight and ride to the hotel you really are not in the mood to wait so long to check in.
