CityCenter's spruced-up neighbor keeps it fun and classy
"Unpretentiously luxurious" is the catchphrase used by Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and it definitely holds true. This Las Vegas hotel pays homage to one of Europe's most lavish sites, but its new restaurants, bars, entertainers and penthouse-level boutique HOTEL32 mean you can use the words "opulent" and "swanky" in the same breath. Vegas comforts rounding out the Monte Carlo experience include a full spa, salon, serious fitness center and a pool deck with a lazy river, wave pool and cabanas (for a fee).

Very nice experience and super deal

Although the hotel was going through some renovations and an expansion it was well kept and clean around the areas they were working. There was construction on a new hotel next door that was noisy at times - but not this hotel's fault at all. And everything is under construction in vegas.

Superb Stay

After reading several reviews I decided to choose the Monte Carlo because of the great value and reputation. The Monte Carlo was nearly flawless. Check-In was completed in about 15 minutes (minute compared to some of the reviews of other hotels). The rooms were slightly on the smaller side, but the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were excellent. My only complaint would be the Monte Carlo's efforts to save water. They ask that you use a towel multiple times before you have it washed. This, in itself, was not the problem, yet the previous occupants towels were left on the rack and not cleaned. In defense of the Monte Carlo, fresh, clean towels were delivered to us immediately. Also, there is lots of renevations being completed on the casino floor making the casino much smaller than normal. The crowd seemed to be more for older people as I saw very few people under the age of 30! Finally, the Monte Carlo offers great food options with a Sbarro, Starbucks, Subway, and McDonalds all located on the casino floor. I definitely recommend this hotel!

So much to do under one roof

The Monte Carlo was an oasis in the heart of Vegas. Beautifully decorated with elegant style. Several restaurnat choices within the hotel. Casino had a variety of machines and tables. Cocktail waitress' could have been a little more accomadating and friendly. Front desk staff and bell desk were more than efficent. Our room had a view of the Vegas strip. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean. The only thing missing was transportation! Would definatly reccomend.

Great Business Center

The Monte Carlo had a comfortable room that was clean. Check in was quick as well as check out. I used the business center and found it reasonable as far as cost and with good service. The Vegas location was excellent with good access to cabs, monorail, and people mover to other casinos. Food was OK and the bar charges were reasonable.

Great location

We were looking for a comfortable hotel that was in a central location. The hotel and staff were very accomodating to us. We had a couple of unplanned instances happen, such as no hot water for a couple of hours because they shut it off while working on the tanks and a jackhammer on the floors above us while they were doing some construction. The hotel manager commped us a couple of meals to try and make up for the inconvenience. We were pleased by the staff and all they did to try and make our stay pleasant. We weren't very happy with the pool location. The area that we would have preferred to lay out in early in the day was blocked by the building until about 10:30 am. Other than that, everything was well maintained and very clean.

Check-in needs improvement

This hotel was great except for the check-in process. We got there approx. 10 p.m. there were three clerks checking people in. There were people with each clerk one group in front of us and approx. seven people behind us. It took 30-45 min. before we were checked in and headed to our room. I was very disappointed with the long wait checking in, I'd hate to seem them at rush hour.

Very helpful and friendly

The Monte Carlo was great!! I especially liked the pool area and the bar located right off the pool area. They also had waitresses come to poolside and get your order so you felt pampered. The only disappointment was with the gymn. The gymn required an additional cost per day, which I thought was unreasonable and did not pay. The hotel was also very close to great restaurants and some of the great attractions were within walking distance from the hotel. All in all I would say the Monte Carlo was the best choice we could have made.

The Paris hotel and New York where both a short distance away and very good eating. Right next door is a very good restaurant and bar, make sure to have the margaritas and watch the bartenders as they juggle behind the bar for your entertainment.
