CityCenter's spruced-up neighbor keeps it fun and classy
"Unpretentiously luxurious" is the catchphrase used by Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and it definitely holds true. This Las Vegas hotel pays homage to one of Europe's most lavish sites, but its new restaurants, bars, entertainers and penthouse-level boutique HOTEL32 mean you can use the words "opulent" and "swanky" in the same breath. Nice and clean - had all the essencials
Decided to go to Vegas to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend. Hotel was nice and clean; staff was very helpful and efficient. no complaint: the room even had a very nice hair dryer...not the little one you mostly see attached on the wall... Overall, we had a great time and were able to walk almost everywhere. would go back in a heartbeat!

Great value on the Strip
Our stay at the Monte Carlo was quite enjoyable. Is it the most exciting or most luxe place on the strip? No. But it has a reasonably central location on the strip. We paid a little extra for the "high deluxe" floors, which was well worth it. -Room: attractive, updated furniture with big TV. -View: amazing even though it didn't face the Strip. -Bed and pillows were quite comfy (I'm very picky) and no complaints about the linens. -Bathroom wasn't stunning but it was clean and spacious. Only complaint may be the shower, which was like a high powered spittle. Eh. You can and should see all the other exciting casinos, but the Monte Carlo casino has a lot of games and lower minimums to let your money go farther. The cocktail waitresses were also very attentive, which is a definite plus. The only real weakness would be the restaurants. The food court is fine (expect to pay about $2 more per item for typical fast food fare). We tried the Pub and like the beer selection, but the food wasn't worth it. The reviews for all the other restaurants were so poor we didn't even try them. All in all: sleep here and gamble here to get a good bang for your buck, but eat and go sightseeing elsewhere.

Lots of noise leakage coming into the rooms
There was a lot of noise leakage coming into our room on the 20th floor from neighbors and the hallway. Also, to add insult to injury, the $20 resort fee per day is taxed at 12%!!!!

Don't eat the "The Cafe". The ledge that circles the entire establishment was full of dust and dirty particles. Service is super slow (probably understaffed), even when it's not busy. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I loved the location and we could walk to anywhere on the strip. the room we stayed in had no fridge, the shower head was disgusting and needs remodeling. the bath tub too was getting rusty. we were placed in a double bed room instead of king and they promised to call us the next day when a king room is available. we never got a call. i have stayed in better 3 star hotels.

Monte carlo is very average
Monte Carlo looks fabulous from afar but its very average inside. Very small rooms, and refused to upgrade even those it was our honeymoon. no fridge, no panoramic view of anything other than a parking lot that was under construction. For the price we paid it was under average.

Good for the money
I had a good time at the hotel. It is a pretty good hotel in a very good spot if you like to walk on the strip. It is a good value (better than some of the cheap hotels in the center of the strip) but does lack that special something Aria and Wynn both have. If you are on a budget, I highly recommend staying here. If you want a complete Vegas experience, I would dish out more cash for the nicer places.

Good time had by all
We went during a quiet time but ended up it was actually a very busy time. The rodeo nationals were in town. The Pacqiao/Marquez fight was happening. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill started their show. Lots happening. But our room was quiet and was a nice escape. VERY HELPFUL TO HAVE A CVS PHARMACY STORE NEXT DOOR TO BUY WATER.

I really dislike this "resort" fee it is not an option so why not put it up front on the pricing. And it is 2012 you need wireless Internet.
