What's that smell??
First thing you will notice upon walking into this hotel is the smell. It is an overpowering perfume smell that makes your eyes water. We had two lamps in our room that were broken but upon calling the check in desk they brought us a different lamp. Then we were given a coupon for buy one get one free up to 4 cupcakes to the Cupcake Factory and the manager decided that they were only going to allow 1 at reg 1 free. So ended up spending $50 on 8 cupcakes just so that the people behind me didn't have to wait any longer. Really not happy. This was our first time at the Monte Carlo but really do not think that I would return there again.

Great Stay
The Monte Carlo wasa great hotel and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend staying at the hotel when you visit Vegas. Use the free tram to get you to Ceasar's Palace area. The Monte Carlo is located almost at the end of the strip, so it is a long walk to the Mirage or Treasure Island.

The hotel is in a great location on the Las Vegas Strip. I was a little disappointed in the hotel itself. When we arrived, our room did not have a do not disturb sign nor a book explaining policies and in-room dining services of the hotel. Even after calling, we never received the in-room dining guide. My pillow was too firm and made my neck hurt. Note: Housekeeping does have feather pillows, if you call & request one. During our stay, we also had to call to get our A/C fixed and get help because our tub would not drain. Overall the hotel was OK if you are on a budget.

Monte Carlo
I have stayed all over Vegas and years ago at Monte Carlo. The hotel is more gimmicky than prior and its theme is not so interesting any longer. Although last time I spent more time at pool which I did not do this time. The gambling at Monte Carlo was terrible and finally when I was ready to leave the last evening a person asked me if I wanted a players card. I am not sure I will want to stay there again as nothing was very positive. The physical building however is nice inside and out.

Don't go to Vegas to gamble. Vegas is no longer a place to have fun gambling. The hotels take too much money. I'd estimate the payout at in the 80s% range which is horrible.

The stay was pleasant as always. They have a great spa and the location is central. The one issue is the lack of repairs since we were there last year.

Getting out of the Cold
Great location, great staff....just be honest about what most of the rooms actually look like.
The staff was fantasitc, the location was perfect...but the room lacked. We chose this hotel based on pictures that clearly did not reflect the actual room we were given. When choosing a deluxe room, I made the assumption that it would be superior to a standard room. I was wrong. It was clean and comfortable, but not lavish room we had expected, so it was really disappointing when we checked in. We tried to upgrade to a suite, but none were available. Had we known what would be getting from the beginning it wouldn't have been such a 'shock'. We would consider staying there again, but would probably only stay in a suite.
