CityCenter's spruced-up neighbor keeps it fun and classy
"Unpretentiously luxurious" is the catchphrase used by Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and it definitely holds true. This Las Vegas hotel pays homage to one of Europe's most lavish sites, but its new restaurants, bars, entertainers and penthouse-level boutique HOTEL32 mean you can use the words "opulent" and "swanky" in the same breath. Vegas comforts rounding out the Monte Carlo experience include a full spa, salon, serious fitness center and a pool deck with a lazy river, wave pool and cabanas (for a fee).
Highlights
  • BRAND Steakhouse serving creative classics with a casino view
  • Monte Carlo's Hotel 32 suites, among the very best on the Strip
  • Guests can take the free monorail to CityCenter for world-class dining and entertainment options

Monte Carlo Snoozefest

You get what you pay for. The casino floor is much smaller than other casinos. It's not a very exciting casino. Zowie Bowie? Probably never see that show. We had the buffet for lunch on Friday and it was garbage. Half of the stuff looked just too scary to eat. The other half was either cooked bad or just wasn't that good. How you mess up steamed carrots I just don't know. I paid 17 dollars for a room service grilled cheese that I never even got. I told them I didn't get it and they assured me I did. I guess they know best. My friends stayed at the Excalibur and others at the MGM. They both had great stays. The sportsbook in the Monte Carlo is a joke also. It's like a depressing lounge with small tvs. I was winning bets and I could hardly stand being in there. Definitely do NOT recommend. You could stay somewhere cheaper and have a better time or pay a few extra bucks and stay somewhere that blows this snoozefest out of the water. Staff was ultra rude from check in to check out. It was like I was bothering them any time I had a simple question, plus they gave misinformation including that they don't have an airport shuttle. They do, they just want you to take a cab.

Same old Monte

March Madness is a challenge for any Vegas Sportsbook. Monte is too small and the nazi tactics with the drink tickets is unacceptable. I'm done with this property for the opening round of the tourny. On the positive side the tram to Bellagio is back up and running. Used that quite a bit. The menu in the brew pub has gone down. Diablo's is overpriced as well.

you get what you pay for

Check in was supposed to be at 3pm. My room was not ready for check in until 6:30pm. When I finally did get into my room it was dirty. There were no comforters on the beds and the floor had not been vacuumed. I requested comforters for my bed and they did not deliver until the next evening and then they only broght me one. I had two queen size beds. The manager gave me a complimentary dinner for the inconvinience but upon check out they had added that to my bill. I really felt like the customer service was very poor, the staff was rude and nobody really seemed to care. I will never stay at the Monte Carlo again. Now I know why it was cheap. My overall Vegas trip was great, but unfortunately my hotel stay was poor. My stay would have been much more enjoyable if things were more smooth and the hotel staff was friendly. Upon my arrival home I realized that I had left two personal items in my hotel room, I immediately called and was placed on "ignore" for about 20 minutes only to be told to call back tomorrow. I called back the next day and agian was insturcted to call back in a day. Unfortunate that people just don't care.

Not what i was expecting

The spa was out of order for the entire 3 days we were there. The ice machine on our floor was also broken part of the time. The rooms are just average. The dealers were arrogant and rude along with some of the staff. If you get a great deal, it might be worth the lack of quality. Great location on the strip by the way. Also it does have 3 pools but they are really all for kids.

NOT happy about the resort fee. We didn't use any of the amenities we paid for.We also never received newspapers and didn't always get our bottled water. And the towels smelled like burnt maple syrup. Also found a pubic hair on my bedspread.

not impressed

we were stung with an addition $12.95 "hotel fee" [...], and had to pay, it covered a tiny bottle of water and a newspaper and other useless items. Also the Monte Carlo has built a tacky cheap Mexican bar right outside their main entrance completely ruining their once elegant entrance. I guess Vegas is desperate!!After always staying at the MC...never again.
