CityCenter's spruced-up neighbor keeps it fun and classy
"Unpretentiously luxurious" is the catchphrase used by Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and it definitely holds true. This Las Vegas hotel pays homage to one of Europe's most lavish sites, but its new restaurants, bars, entertainers and penthouse-level boutique HOTEL32 mean you can use the words "opulent" and "swanky" in the same breath. Booked and paid in advance 3 months earlier for a strip view king room nonsmoking ....... checked in staff member was rude and totally unhelpful ...was told i had a choice of a 2 queens room or smoking king room.... had to take the smoking king room as i have a king bed at home I'm not down grading to a queen on holidays .... the room was old worn out and stunk i was discussed it was appauling burn holes in the carpet point peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom ....next time I'll just pay the $50 more a night and go back to wynn or cosmopolitan or planet Hollywood all cleaner better and friendlier.... also they didn't give my $50 resort voucher on checkin so i missed out on that as well ........NEVER STAY HERE IT'S TERRIBLE

On the Strip
Basic hotel on the Vegas Strip - walk to City Center, Aria &the Cosmopolitan. Room was fine except for being above the kitchen vents so I couldn't have the windows open w/o smell of grease & roaring. Would have asked to change rooms if I'd noticed before unpacking. Only real drawback was lack of access to a pool or hot tub! Having to pay $10 to get into the spa and ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE DAY was very annoying. What's the point of paying to stay at a fancy hotel if you can't relax and swim? It seems absurd that they have 3 swimming pools but none of them are available to guests when we want them.

The Full Monte Carlo
Great hotel. Casino floor layout is better than most LV hotels. Room was clean and bed comfortable. The desk chairs were bad. Springs were shot. Hotel location is great. Cross the street and you can shop or go to a movie. (Theatre behind Dennys). Go deluxe and get a room with a view. You won't regret it.
