You're not a tourist. You're a resortist. It's hard to imagine a Las Vegas resort more complete than Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, where luxury means a beachfront scene and casino, award-winning dining, vibrant nightlife, contemporary accommodations, a world-class Spa Mandalay, even a shark-themed aquarium. Dine at several star chef spots, find headlining acts and boxing at the Events Center, or rock out at venues like House of Blues and the futuristic Eyecandy sound lounge. Take in the sandy beaches, waterfalls, wave pool and lazy river at the sought-after Mandalay Bay Beach.
Key facts

  • Fine dining at Charlie Palmer's Aureole, Rick Moonen's RM Seafood and Wolfgang Puck's Lupo

Neighborhood
The Mandalay Bay Hotel is on South Las Vegas Boulevard, part of the official Vegas Strip, near to the Bali Hai Golf Course, and just up from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. From here, it's a six-minute drive to McCarran Airport (LAS). Across the road, guests can see the Little Church of the West: a wedding venue, Vegas institution, and funky jewel on the National Register of Historic Places, all rolled into one.
Hints and tips
Due to the hotel's location near the bottom of the Boulevard, getting around may be easier by monorail or bus.  There is a three-day bus pass available to ride the Deuce buses if you're on a quick business stay, and one-day passes are relatively inexpensive for vacationers.
Policies and fees
This property charges a resort fee of $29 USD/night (plus tax), which includes the following services: in-room wireless internet, cardio center access, daily newspaper, local and 800-number calls, outgoing faxes, complimentary notary services, boarding pass printing and 2 bottles of water/day.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Family vacation in Vegas

This vacation ended up costing us way more than we thought. We traveled with our four kids(three teens and a ten year old). The food was crazy expensive! Our average meal was 100$. Some were over 200$! Just to stop and get some sodas set us back about 25$ a pop! The elevated rail was a total waste of money. Take a bus, it drops you off in front of the hotels in stead of way behind them were you have to walk through all the casino floors to get to anywhere. We did most of the attractions and they were expensive. Circus circus was trashy and not worth the effort to walk to. The stratosphere was a big hit but bring your wallet. All in all I wouldn't bring the kids to Vegas again. We could have gone to Disney and done more for a lot less.

The room was still dirty.

When we check in at 9:00pm the room still had not been cleaned. Called the front desk, and they said they were sorry and sending someone right up. One hour later we still did not have anyone there. 10:00pm went down to the front desk because room still was not clean, and couldn't get through on the phone. The manager at the front desk said they would take care of it right away. We went and played for 3 hour, but on our return to the room still not clean. Went down to the desk again, and the manager again said she was sorry. Sorry did not get the room clean. What really got me mad was when I pointed out that I had paid for a room that I never got to use that day, and the manager said because I used a second party to book though they could not refund my room fee. They finely got the room clean on thursday.

You Better Dig Deep In Your Wallet!

We traveled from SLC to see The Jonas Brothers Concert and it took us 45 minutes just to get into the Event Center. We arrived at 6:45 and the concert was at 7:30. Then the line to buy T-shirts was 30 minutes, then the line for popcorn was 40 minutes. It as a horrible experience and needless to say we missed half of the concert as well as many other people.

Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay has pools for everyone. A wave pool and lazy river for both the young children and older adults. It was very very crowded with little shade. No umbrellas and the pool chairs were uncomfortable. The pools were clean and the hotel clean. The elevators were very crowded and you had to stop at many floors before reaching the beach level or casino level floor. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The location is at the end of the strip and to take a taxi to another location on the strip could be quite pricy on a Friday or Saturday night because of the traffic

Four Seasons

We ended up at the Four Seasons as an upgrade, because the Mandalay Bay was oversold. It was essentially on the same property, even though technically it is a different hotel. We were allowed to use the facilities of the Mandalay Bay, as well as those of the Four Seasons (which is a five-star property).

Great Vacation

The pool, shopping center and casino were all spectacular. Being at the end of the strip it is in a great spot where you can get into the action quickly if you want or just sit back and relax without the crowd. The aquarium is also an interesting find.
