Nothing exceptional in comparion to other hotels I have stayed at. The food was nothing exceptional to speak of & was ... expensive. The environment was just as smoky as other casinos The staff did not go out of their way to be friendly The only good thing I can mention is that my room was ready for check-in at 11:am When phoning the front desk inquiring about the shutttle bus service for pick up back to the airport, the front desk transfers the call to the shuttle service and bills the call to you room for a fee of $3.75, which the guest is responsible for paying DONT open the mini bar unless you plan on drinking from it: don't even place your own water in this frig or you will be charged. It is weight sensitive. I was not really impressed with this hotel. I am not sure how it came to be rated a 4-star facility. It was OK. Not horrible, but not great

Disappointed
dreamweaver Nov 18, 2009
One of the days our room was not made up by housekeeping. They told us later that the Do Not Disturb Sign was on our door, ... which it wasn't. Rest of the days, I called down to make sure our room was cleaned. Disappointed that Internet access cost $14.99 a day and a refrigerator for the room cost $20.00 per day. We have never stayed at a hotel where Internet Service and a fridge was not included in the price of the hotel.

Nice hotel, unfriendly front desk
BGB Nov 15, 2009
The hotel was nice. Average for Vegas. Front desk staff was terribly unfriendly. They told us we could have an hour ... extension on checkout until noon, and then 11:00 that morning told us they never said it. It took a manager to change the attitude. When we checked in, the desk person was okay, very matter of fact, but when we asked a couple of questions, she was annoyed and didn't give us any meaningful answers. I would not stay at this hotel again.

What a disappointment
Cris Oct 24, 2009
For the amount of money we spent on these rooms we were very disappointed. We were told there was a refridgerator in the ... room before leavng home which was one of the things we were looking for in a room because Vegas meals can be draining on the wallet. Well there was a fridge, packed full of pricey beverages so no room for your snacks. Bathroom door was soooo squeaky it woke up everyone in the room when someone used the toilet in the middle of the night. Double sinks were nice, but one of them would not drain properly, and even after maintenance fixed it, it made a loud knocking noise as if something was wrong with the plumbing. We stayed 4 nights and our rooms were cleaned everyday, but when the maid replaced our glasses and towels there was always something forgotten and we would have to call down and request something everyday. A beer and a margarita at the pool came to $18, the workout room cost was $20 a day, and the roomservice prices were outrageous. We will never stay at Mandalay Bay again.

For excellent service, wonderful food and good wine selection in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere I recommend the Verandha Resturant in the Four Seasons Hotel next to the Mandalay Bay. We had our wedding reception dinner there and we couldn't ask for anything better. Family and friends loved it at a very reasonable price. We returned a week later for an evening dinner for two. The staff remembered us and we were treated as old friends. If only resturants were as good in London.
--Happy Vegas Traveller, London, England Oct 22, 2009
Need a compass next time we go back, as within the casino you rely on signs from ceilings and you can walk around for hours just trying to get to monorails or outside to walk the strip. Compass would definitely assist us with the signs.
