A fabulous experience from getting on the aircraft in Manchester to the return at Manchester airport/ The location and facilities and resort were above expectation. The only negative to the whole experience was the amount of smokers within the hotel area. Just a fantasticexperience

worth it to upgrade if u r a party for 2 or more
The room I booked was very small so I upgraded the room to one in the other tower w/2 queen beds, a larger bathroom, and a view. then we were v happy : ) The $75 food+bev credit came in handy and it was v convenient if u want to enjoy tubing on the lazy river, partying during the day at Wet Republic, or dancing the night away at Hakkasan!!

Hakkasan is AMAZING!! Probably the best club I've ever been to and that includes Miami and NYC. Girls must be on the girl's line between 10-11 on fridays and between 9-10 on saturdays or be prepared to wait!! It DOES reach capacity (8,000) every night!

Great service, impeccable rooms. What more can you ask for? Slept like a baby every night in the super comfy beds. Hotel complex is huge though so be prepared to walk but they have everything you need from shops, restaurants, shows, activities and a great casino. Located near the end of the strip but still close enough to walk to all the main attractions. Pool area is the best in Vegas! Will be returning!

Probably would not come back !!!
We were not very happy with our room, It was dusty and the Bathroom door would not close all the way and we were in room #550 and on the 10th floor. It seemed like we had to walk for a Half mile to get to it... My wife had to stop and rest 3 or more times while pulling our bags on the carpet... The casino was nice, but the room was poor !!!!

Awesome vacation!
Our time at the MGM was unbelievable. My wife especially enjoyed the Spa. We had a great couples massage there. The staff were exceptional. We had a casual but superb dinner at Wolfgang puck. The highlight without question was our afternoons at the pool. We had a blast on the lazy river and soaked up the sun while sipping margaritas.

When your at the MGM you don't need to leave because everything is there for you, the best restaurants and entertainment on the strip are right there. Average at best
This hotel was definitely in a great spot. Was close to the bus stop for getting around town. Also was very close to a convenience store for snacks and alcohol. Snacks and alcohol were extremely over priced. And don't touch the mini bar unless you have deep pockets. 9 dollars for a liter of water? Give me a break. Also don't let the pictures of the rooms fool you. They are not big and luxurious like they look. They were about the size of a super 8 hotel room. Very nice pool and lazy river. But don't expect a chair or affordable drinks.

Short walk from hotel
Always hit up the conveinience stores for alcohol and snacks. They're more than half price on snacks and one third the price on alcohol. Also grab a bus pass. It's so nice to hop on after you've wandered to far from you're hotel. Make sure to hit up the Fremont street experience. Very awesome

Bday celebration trip
Upon check in the lines were long and tedious. We were there to celebrate my bday and my boyfriend planned a couple of surprises such as a flower delivery and another delivery of strawberry covered chocolates. Both were late and he had to call and check on their status several times before they were finally delivered. Also I had a package shipped there that arrived before we checked in that I was never notified of, it was only when I tracked the package and realized it had actually already arrived there that they had it. Overall we would not stay at this property again.

The US' largest hotel has something for all -- the sprawling casino, sports book, world-class entertainment, food with entrees listed from $4 to $450, shopping, the largest pool complex in the city, and more. Not all was perfect: we got in late in the evening and the room class we paid for was not available. The good news -- we got a free upgrade; the bad news -- after a long day we dragged our bags to the 22nd floor room only to find a party going on it -- it was already occupied. They then put us on the 28th floor (of 29) and gave us a $65 food credit for the mix-up. The tower was newly renovated and the room reflected the very up-to-date atmosphere. Annoyingly, they have just 1 ice machine per floor of about 160 rooms, and ours was broken for a day, I booked when MGM offered a pair of tickets with the stay, apparently a recurring promotion. So we saw Cirque du Soleil's Beatles' LOVE at the Mirage for free -- a $200 value. They also sold hotel guests tickets to KA, another Cirque show, at MGM for more than 40% off. So we saw 2 Cirque shows for very little. We booked Sunday thru Thursday nights, when rooms are much cheaper. The same rooms were about 150% more on the weekends. Like most Strip resort/hotels, they charge a daily resort fee, which adds almost nothing more than would be expected. With tax, MGM gets $28 per day. This is just a price gimmick to make the base rate look more attractive.

CBS TV has a large presence at MGM. They run regular focus groups to evaluate future programming. While we were there, volunteers were given $20 to $70 for an hour or two of viewing and evaluating. It's a fun diversion to participate in even if there were no payments.

MGM getaway
Great location, although large property so even going to the spa or pool is a hike. Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We asked the concierge about reservations at a restaurant, she called immediately and found it was closed for a private parts and saved us the trip all the way to the Wynn. She even reccommended some restaurants in the area we might like. The room was dirty when we arrived. The bed was made and everything, but there was trash on the floor (tags from clothing and such) underneath the TV stand that was not picked up for our entire 5 day stay. It just shows they probably missed some other aspects of cleaning if they missed something I saw within the first 5 minutes I was in the room. Other than that, great stay, but will probably pick one of the other great hotels on the strip.

WOW!!! First time in Las Vegas, what a hotel to pick. Perfect location on the strip, short 12 dollar taxi ride from airport. Great entrance, amazing bars, restaurants, shops and VAST casino but the real treat was the stunning pool complex. Great relaxation in the sun. Everything to hand outside the hotel, Dueuce bus stop and booking desks for shows and trips at west wing exit. Could not have asked for more.

Had a great stay. The only problem is that we could only stay 1 night. Staff was very helpful. Large resort that had about everything. Disappointed that they did not offer any free points or coins for use at the hotel.

View from the top?
We paid for the Exec. King Suite. It was a large room and the bathroom was nice. The ad says we get "comfy robes." No robes in our room. We did not ask for them, but felt we shouldn't have to. The plumbing needed fixing and their staff was in our room in about 2 mins - nice guy who fixed the issue. The view from our upgraded Exec King Suite was a rooftop (i.e. = no view at all) The MGM is at the beginning of The Strip. You can't walk to other hotels....in fact you can't walk to everything inside the MGM. It's just too big, too expensive and too full of itself. There is ALWAYS a huge line to check in and ALWAYS a huge line to see a Concierge. We waited more than 10 minutes in line when the Concierge desk first opened at 8 am. At the end of our stay, a convention arrived of more than 14,000 people. You couldn't get an elevator, you couldn't walk down the hallway, get a seat for dinner....horrible. Had I gotten a "regular" room I might have felt the MGM was okay, but I paid for an upgrade and feel I got ripped off. If you intend to stay at MGM, get the least expensive room. You'll be treated no better or worse and get no better or worse room than we did. Oh, and the sheets don't fit the beds. Great bed - but the bottom sheet is just laying over the mattress. You'd think if the MGM can afford a plush bed, they could afford to get sheets that stay on overnight.

Short walk from hotel
We ate at Nathan's Hot Dog stand inside the MGM. We got 3 hot dogs, two beers and two orders of fries. Our bill was $48. Go across the street from the MGM and get food and drinks outside of major hotels. Miller Lite in hotel is $7.50. Across the street $1.95.

Love the River
I go to MGM to enjoy the river pool... other things are good too. I'm a senior citizen and did not find unruly behavior / excessive drinking at the pool as others have reported. As a resort fee is now charged, MGM should stop charging for the inner tubes and instead have them freely available for guests. The maid for my room was a delight. She did much to ensure I enjoyed my stay. I thought the bed too soft, but found my sleep to be refreshing. I believe the pillows and quilt to be well filled down. It was all white and felt very European. Ka is playing there. I see a Cirque du Soleil on every trip to Las Vegas. "O" is my favorite, but the staging, talent and visual art of KA is phenomenal. It was Grand to have KA presented where I was staying. I was in Las Vegas with others who stayed at Paris, so I can compare a bit. I thought the Paris buffet to be much better, only Paris had a much higher noise level in the public areas and few concierge (resulting in long waits to get a quick answers). MGM had 3 - 4 times more concierge, and having questions to ask several times, never had to wait. Paris has many more stores presenting items not available in the MGM stores.

Long walk from hotel
The strip is long and MGM is a distance from the outside shows provided by Treasure Island, Bellagio and Mirage. Many street crossings require going up a level to use a bridge. A 24 hour bus pass is available for $8 to ride from MGM/NY/Excalibur to Paris and onto downtown. I believe a 72 hour pass is $20. Passes can be purchased from machines outside the MGM, Excalibur, Paris and Bellagio. The bus is more convenient and less expensive than the tram. I got this tip from a concierge at Paris.

Horrible RUDE STAFF
I asked for directions to the west side of the hotel and the guy at concierge told me "its on the west." he refused to give me locational directions and acted like I was stupid. He caused me to miss our helicopter tour while we wandered around the hotel looking for the right exit. Then I called to see how much the club was...They said 75 bucks a person, no discount for hotel guests and then the person said IF YOU CAN GET IN. THE WORST PART WAS MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ASSAULTED AND ARE PRESSING CHARGES AGAINST FIVE PEOPLE WHO ASSAULTED US OUTSIDE THE HOTEL IN BROAD DAYLIGHT WHILE WAITING FOR THE SHUTTLE BACK TO THE HOTEL> SECURITY WAS NOWHERE IN SIGHT> GOOD LUCK STAYING HERE> FEAR FOR YOUR LIFE>

I havent stayed at the MGM in years but really liked the updated rooms. The last rooms we stayed seemed very dated. The pool was really nice but wasnt very family oriented. The lazy river was full off young, drunk folks... And i only saw three others children in it... Vs the lazy river at Mandaley Bay. I guess im getting to old for the partying scene..

Annoyances
My friend and I stayed for 2 nights. We arrived in Vegas early and got early check in, which was great even though it included a small fee. Here was the problem. We went upstairs to rest and housekeeping kept trying to let themselves into our room even after we told them someone was in the room and asked what they wanted. Apparently our shower curtain was due to be changed. So, we go out the next day. The DO NOT DISTURB sign was definitely taken off the door. When we arrived back to our hotel room 5 hours later, housekeeping had not been there. We decided that since we were leaving the next morning and didn't need anything, we'd let it go. But, it definitely marred the experience.

Paid for room to sleep and unable too NOISE
When I checked in, the desk told me that they had no rooms left, like the one I reserved, a kind bed. I was given a room with two beds right next to the elevator and ice machine. THE NOISE AT NIGHT WAS NON STP! I called the front desk to ask for a new room, they responded back if the noise is still paid at 9 am call us back. Tired beyond belief I called the front desk back at 4 a.m. I was told of a new room on the phone and the desk clerk told me to just go there and my key that I had already would work. I got dressed and went to the new room. SURPRISE! the key did not work. I was then stopped by security. He took me to the front desk and got me a new key then I had him walk me back to the room to make sure the key worked. Well, at 5:30 in the morning I was just now getting into bed. The following night it was quiet until the morning at 6:30 a.m. obscenities galore were being YELLED FROM THE HALLWAY AND NEIGHBORING ROOM. I CALLED THE FRONT DESK TO COMPLAIN. they SENT THREE GUARDS OUT THAT EACH WEIGHED OVER 200 POUNDS, THEY KNOCKED ON THE DOOR AN HOUR AND A HALF AFTER I COMPLAINED and said they heard nothing. I was so mad I checked out and went to another hotel, once there they told me that I couldn't check in until 3p.m. I walked around the slots and Vegas as tired as can be. THE MGM IS okay IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SLEEP. The Television did not work and there was only one towel in the bathroom and the lamps did not work. This hotel was below Motel 6.

Check in went surprisingly quick considering it was nascar weekend/pac 12. Got into room early about 5 hours early and didnt charge us anything extra for it. location of the hotel makes if for a bit of walking if you wanna check out the other hotels on the strip but nothing to terrible. Buffet wasnt very good here, but the rainforest cafe was pretty good. Just wish i had more time to enjoy their huge pool/lazy river area. All and all a great trip would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to go to Vegas.

Boycott Spirit Airlines
Construction Construction
Everywhere you went in the Hotel it seemed there was some kind of construction happening. Other than that it was great. The Airline we flew, Spirit Airline, was one of the worse experiences of my travels...never again. The staff was rude, the other passengers seemed just as rude and if it was a trip longer than from Denver to Vegas I would have killed myself. The seats in the plane seemed to be about 3/4 the size of seats on other airlines. Also, you think you are saving money by flying with them, but they hit you will all these baggage fees. Absolutely a nightmare Airline. Take my advice, spend the extra money for another airline.

I was very very pleased
I stayed at MGM because I was looking for a really nice hotel for a really good price - and that is what I got. I think the hotel was fancy enough (of course if you walk into the pricier hotels they do have some more "oohh and ahhh" factors, but they are also way more expensive). There was nothing in particular that I was not satisfied with. The staff were very helpful, the pool was great. the rooms were very nice and comfy. I went with a bachelorette party and there was a good mix of young single people and families. They have a lot of food variety options from upscale classy overpriced to cheap and edible food, so you can get what you want. I was very very pleased and would recommend it to my friends.

Not going back to MGM…
Maybe we hit the MGM at the bad time but based on this only experience, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. Below are some of the mishaps from our 4 days; Day 1; Keys don’t work, waiting for someone to come and open the door for 15 min. After that waiting for an additional hour for someone to deliver correct keys. Day 2; No running water for two hours. Waiting on a phone for 15 minutes someone to explain what is going on. Hanging up after 15 minutes when no one answered. Day 3; Lunch by the pool took 1.5 hours, the highlight being when the waitress questioned if my wife really needs her own mayonnaise…

No response
For the most part the hotel was all that I expexted...untill I received a phone call in my room from someone that new my name my room number and worst of all that I had ordered room service that morning. They asked me to confirm some of my check in info including credit card. Wow. I asked what department they called from and their name they gave me a 4 digit extension....all the extensions at the MGM are 5. I immediatly called the front desk and asked if someone had called my room re: verifing info. She said no and said she would pass the issue on to management. When I got off with the desk I called my cc company to block my card and review my transactions. I then received a call from a Ben the ast manager. Regarding a tip security had received re: my room number and credit card number. I told him I work in the hotel industry and that I wanted to know how a stranger could get my name and room number as well as info like I had ordered room service. As even my grown children back home didn't know what room number I was actually in. Ben said security was all over the issue and when we conculed the conversation I asked for a call back with an update as I was still staying with then for another 2 days. I received no such call. I also went back down to the desk to update my cc info as the card I had given then at check in was now comprimised. When I did this the young lady at the desk said she would ask Ben to call me when he was done with secuirty. At check out again I asked regarding the secuirty breech they had no further info I asked to speak with Bem they said it was his day off and that she would let him know that I wanted a call back. I have been back home for a week with no such call. The 1-800 number the desk gave me rings busy. So I am dissapointed to say the least in the lack of follow up by management they were happy to process my credit card for all the purchases, food and beverage and spa charges that were incurred over our 5 night stay. To top it all off I was now using my emergency credit card in case of any unforseen issues. The hotel pre authorized and addionial 1300.00 dollars on the day of departure. Which only tide up more credit. Thank goodness I had nothing else on the card other then the actual hotel room charges. But again no urgency by managemnet to try and contact me to know they had investigated the secuirty breach or how they were working to improve protecting their customers privecy. As a side note when I interviewed with hotel secuirty I did mention that I had noticed room service trays sitting outside my room and others in the hallway for well over 16 hours which can't be good for secuirty or hygiene to say the least. Sorry to the rest of the employees working throughout our stay from the desk to housekeeping that all seemed genuine and trying very hard to take care of us their guests. As for the lack of response from management. I think I have made my sentiments clear.

Not the MGM I remembered
We got a room in the West Tower that was a big disappointment. It was tiny and cramped and it had a bizzare decor that gave me the impression they tried to remodel it on the cheap. The hallway was very dark with a low cieling, dark wall and floor coverings and cheap room number signs. There is a separate lobby for this part of the hotel which was so dark it was like walking through a room with the lights turned off. In the middle of the night we were awakened by the pipes banging and clanging, and each morning at 5 am the construction work outside began, including trucks and jack hammers. Overall it was just a strange, gloomy and depressing place.

Front desk service lacking
Check in lines at this hotel are very long. I waited 45 min to check in around 10pm. The VIP line gets priority every time, so if you have 10 VIPers, then regular line stops entirely until the 10 have been served. The VIP line is constantly adding on, so imagine the wait at normal check in times. I got in around 11am but did not check in at this time; the line was even longer. By the time I returned to the hotel to sleep, the only available room was smoking. With some pushing (I'm pregnant), the hotel did give me a handicap non smoking room. However when we checked out, we could not use the in room TV express check out because they billed our room again and did not credit the free buffet including in the package we booked. Luckily at 8am, the wait was minimal. Since I paid roughly half fo what I paid last time I was in LV, this property is still recommended. The room itself had no view, but the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfy. As mentioned by others, to lock the dead bolt, push up.

Average overall experience
The overall hotel amenities are average. The room was fairly clean and organized. When compared to other Hotels like the Bellagio and Wynn is a bit inferior but still it was worth the price. Well located on the strip.

Family spring break
The hotel was clean, but our queen view room was a view of the airport. The pillows are very firm, feather pillows and can give you a "kink" from sleeping. The rooms are not soundproof, and we had a variety of people next to us at different times throughout the week; rowdy crowds, laughing kids...etc. and you can hear EVERYTHING! The hotel was very smoky, and it was difficult to breathe, even in the non-smoking rooms. The pools were great, but, there seemed to be a much younger crowd and it became inappropriate and obnoxious at times. If you want a seat at the Back Lot, (Lazy river) get there before they open!! Seats go fast! Due to construction the only way to get to the strip takes FOREVER from your room, and you have to walk through the entire smoke filled casino on the way! Short walks from the hotel by the Coke Bottle, is a convenience store with a large variety of snack foods for the pool as well. We were there for a week and tired of the food court in the hotel. Had several nice dinners at the hotel and the food was great! Not a bad stay, just wasn't totally appropriate for a family trip. As a couple or single, you would totally enjoy!

Saw David Copperfield in the hotel and he was GREAT; the night club music was pounding though througout the performance and it was so annoying because it was difficult to hear him. We also saw the Variety Show at Planet Hollywood! I totally recommend. Great show and Wally, the host, is hilarious!

Just not what I expected
I was expecting the MGM to be really nice. We got stuck in a business type room with no mini fridge for 4 nights. The room had one small window and only two side table lamps. The floor lamp was burnt out, so the lighting was horrible to her ready in. House keeping the first day knocked on our door at 7:45am!!!! It's Vegas, people are sleeping at 7:45 am because we didn't go to sleep until 7 am! Then the next two days housekeeping never came. The TV signal was awful. The TV kept shutting on and off. Then on one of the days a water pipe broke in the tower we stayed in so we couldn't take a shower for hours. When we called to find out why the water was working we didn't even get an apology or any other thing comped for the inconvience. Yes, there are beautiful things about this property. I just expected more from my stay

Amazing Hotel
I felt like their wasn't a person working at this hotel that knew the word no. Everything I asked the answer was responsive, insightful, with details I didn't think to ask about. The answer was always yes sir. I felt like I spent twice as much money on my room. I've stayed at some of the cheaper places on the strip and for the extra pretty small amount over 5 days I spent to stay at MGM it was well worth it. When I go back it's going to be hard not to stay here. The pools are also very nice, though I wish the lazy river were open the whole time, it was closed three days we were there because it was later March and not in peak pool season apparently. Coming from Ohio it was peak pool season for me! I also wish they just had a refrigerater in the room. I have no use for a mini bar. I'm not paying crazy prices for bottles of whatever that you have no idea how long have been in there. I'm sure some people use it, so I understand why they have it. You can buy a fridge for $35 a day, which seemed a little steeep to me. I tried to throw the maid staff $40 to see if they could just slip one in to me and not charge me, which I have done at much less organized hotels and it has usually worked. Speaking of organized, these guys were just on their game. Over 5,000 guests and these guys make you feeel like you are the only one staying there. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Lacking Service
We were here 4 nights. Our room was never made up before 4 in the afternoon. I know it is necessary to turn rooms over for arriving guests but even more important is to take care of guests you have to make them return in the future. The rooms were very noisy, all of the drunken commotion in the halls feeds right into the rooms. The smoke in the casino area is gagging. The television will not work more than 5 minutes without giving a "signal lost " message. Not what I expect from a destination resort.

Amazing!
We were upgraded and got for four persons (family) a very fancy suite. (We would"t go out of our room...) and it was very quiet. The only point which was disturbing us, was that the stuff came in our room. They knocked at the door ,but came in in the same second without waiting a while. This was more than one time! The location was great, the valet parking (we didm"t know) was very comfortable! We rented a car and drove to the Hoover Dam, but the real awesome ride was to the "golden canyon" and to the "death valley", It isn"t so far away from LV . We had four amazing days and a lot of fun!

Pool is second to none!
My husband and I chose to stay at the MGM Grand on a recent couples trip to Vegas and have no regrets. While the themed casinos/hotels have the possibility to transport you to another place, the pools at MGM is incomparable. The Backlot River is a lazy river that provides the best people-watching and relaxation that gives the feel of a Caribbean resort -- the vacation I initially thought I wanted. Be sure to call ahead though to make sure the river is open - otherwise you'll be stuck at one of their regular pools. Great time, all of the food and shopping you need, but still close enough a walk to check out everything Vegas has to offer. Have fun!

Why pay more....
Choosing to travel the weekend of the the NCAA Championships was an expensive venture. The hotel was so overwhelmed that it failed to provide the superior level of service I have grown accustomed to in my previous stays. I paid a lot more, and got a lot less. Won't do that again! I could have stayed a less expensive venue and got better service.

Not impressed.
I was excited to stay at the MGM after a coworker recommended it. Needless to say, I was not impressed. The front desk agent who checked me in didn't even welcome me and was gruff. The lights in my room blew out as soon as I walked in the door so engineering had to fix them. Also, watch your bill- I was charged for a buffet I never went to and when I called to inquire about the charge, I was hung up on and on the third try, was told someone would be in touch-still have heard nothing back. Ordered room service one night and $7.00 for a coke...really? Would've been much better staying somewhere else and plan on doing so next time!!

Great pool but resort needs improvement
My favourite part about MGM Grand is the pool complex, there were three pools (only on the weekend, on the weekday only the grand pool was opened), two hot tubs (one on the weekdays) and a lazy river open during our stay. The lazy river met my expectations, it was fun and relaxing, I enjoyed it a lot. Negative aspects regarding the pool complex is that they don't let you bring food (you can bring processed/bagged snacks though). Also tube rental is very pricey ($16). Moreover, the pool hours were 8am-6pm. Since this is Vegas it would make more sense to have it opened later, i would really enjoy an evening swim (especially because there's no inside pool). The cleaning staff was also very friendly. However, the day we arrived, check in was unbelievably slow. There were only a few people in line and it still took forever. They definitely need a better system to check in people who have reservations and those who don't separately. They also charge you resort fees, other than using the pool I don't think they really justify charging us $25 (+ taxes) each day. But almost every resort does this (some less). There aren't that many shops in this resort, also a better location will be near the south strip, we had to drive everyday because things were too far to walk to.

First time in Vegas
I thought the MGM Grand was a great Vegas location. It feels like a hotel AND a casino, not just one or the other like some others. I thought it would have been very family friendly--not sleazy, clean, bright, lots of food options. We saw Ka, too, which is conveniently located in the building. This hotel is also very easy to get to from the airport, making your cab rides cheaper. My only complaint is no fridge in the room. Even at a roadside motel you get that now. Here, you have to rent one for $35. Bogus. But I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, great price... wish the staff thought so!
I booked a cheap, mid-week stay at MGM. It's under construction right now, so keep that in mind, but it didn't really get in the way. I had a good experience, except that upon checking in, the desk clerk almost apologetically informed me that I had booked the West Tower, making it sound as if I'd made a mistake. I told him I was aware of that. He asked to make sure that I knew "it's a reeeeeaaaaally long walk from here to your room". I told him that was usually the case in Vegas. Then he tried to up-sell me on a suite. Usually, I'm happy to be informed of discounted suite upgrades -- pretty standard in Vegas -- and I've taken some hotels up on the offer. The problem was that instead of making the suite sound amazing, he just made my regular room sound like a horrible choice. I told him I'd stick with the West Tower room. It is a long walk from the check-in desk, but I soon realized that there is a shortcut through a bar that takes you right out to the entrance of MGM -- with a Starbucks in between that NOBODY was at! The rooms are small, and I wouldn't recommend them for sharing if you're not close with your roommate, because the shower and toilet have frosted glass doors. However, my boyfriend and I found the room perfectly fit for a one-night, cheap stay in Vegas. It's not the biggest room or the nicest bathroom, but we didn't spend much time in there anyway, and when we did, we slept very well!

MGM truly needs that special something. We visited 5-6 other hotels and liked all of them much, much better. Our room "petite King" was laid out poorly. The AC/heat flow was next to the bed--right next to your head so you heard the noise and froze all night or got up shut it off and sweat. Not good for anyone to have to sleep this way. The toilet door was glass, if anyone came to your door and stepped inside you didn't want to be using the facilities.--The was no separation of bathroom and sleeping area. Very little vanity space, narrow shelf, although they were 3 tiers so we managed to fit everything we needed. I would not go back there. And that $150 charge--they listed the 5 things it included :Wireless internet,Cardio Rm, free copy USA Today, Local 800 numbers and Outgoing Boarding Pass. in their "Welcome to MGM" booklet . we didn't travel with a computer, never even saw the Cardio Room or wanted to, THIS IS STRITLY A WAY OF GOUGING THE PUBLIC. We were too disgusted to even talk to them about it. They were kind of cold, anyway, when we checked in. As for the trip--WE ENJOYED IT ! lOVED SEEING THE OTHER HOTELS, TOOK LOTS OF PICS. 2 SHOWS, 2 TOURS. Great. Thank you, just sorry we stayed at MGM.

Arrived at the MGM check in around 5pm on a saturday,I requested a room in the west tower, as old rooms are too far & not nice!! The check in lady told me they were sold out, fair enough but I requested upgrade during any availability. I stayed there for 6 nights, not even once did they try to upgrade me, even though I called morning & evenings on my return from business. The Service is very poor & for the price your are 100% better off staying at Cosmopolitan ,Aria , even paying a few more $ & staying at mandaly bay, bellagio & the venetian, or even the wynn, i paid $175 with their resort fees per night, i will not be staying there again, I visited Vegas over 30 times, i have stayed at the MGM many times, but sadly this is last time I will reserve at the MGM ever!!

I loved the ambiance in the hotel...friendly staff, very great decorations and numerous things to do in the hotel (food, shopping, gambling). The room was a little disappointing because the 'petite king room' had no privacy for the bathroom area so the room felt really tiny.

Good first experience
This was my 10th in Vegas for business over the past 15 years but first time at the MGM. The renovated rooms are well done. The restaurants were very over rated -poor value food but good selection of wines. Service throughout was friendly and except for the bar staff was very attentive. Only disappointments were bar that closed 30mins earlier then published, restaurants that shut down at 10:30pm despite having 7500 in the hotel post a concert (that was a missed opportunity to keep us there gaming) and maid service that kept forgetting to refill all the soaps in the room bathroom.

Sadly, I would never book through you again. It is the first time in my 30+ years of traveling experience that I stayed in a high-end hotel and received such a horrible room. The location, distance from the room to main lobby, casino, restaurants, etc., was so far away. The room had no soaking tub -- simply a shower stall. I was placed right next to the hotel's maid's storage closet and the activity there was not condusive to a relaxing vacation. SIMPLY THE WORST I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED AND COULD NOT WAIT TO LEAVE.

Great room!
The room was nice, clean and comfortable. It was nice to be in a hotel casino and not have to deal with cigarette smoke. Very clean place. Only thing I can complain about was that there was a charge of 25.00 a day to use swimming pool, internet, sauna, and gym of which I did not need or use any. The buffet I could pass on. I enjoyed the restaurant much better.

Viva Las Vegas!
On arrival check-in staff were really friendly and helpful. Throughout our stay the staff at this hotel continued to be very helpful including the concierge desk and bell boy. The hotel's location was pretty good, but slightly to one end of the strip. Easy access from hotel directly onto the strip. Deuce bus and taxis easily available. Our room was lovely with twin queen beds , very luxurious, exactly what we had seen in photos prior to booking. We used the in-house laundry twice and this service was very efficient and reasonably priced. Free Wi-Fi also available. The MGM Grand is a busy bustling hotel with really good facilities, plenty of restaurants including The Rain Forest Cafe, coffee bars and shops. We loved this hotel so would definitely recommend it!

First room was tiny with a 4x4 window with a view of the parking garage. There was no way two people could feel comfortable here for 3 nights. The first attempt to upgrade by telephone call was not accommodated. Once we called another hotel (MGM property) to change altogether, the option to upgrade was offered. The hotel uses a powerful odorizer to mask the cigarette/cigar smoke which is very strong and feels toxic. The room was fine and comfortable... very quiet which is a bonus!! The staff receives a needs that special something because the majority of people encountered were at best average. The exception is the manager we worked with for the upgrade.

Perfect venue for a 21st birthday party-everything you need is on the property. Great Restaurants, Tabu night club is fun., Great Brunch $19, Great Pool. Rooms were clean. The only negative thing is the windows had a view of another building.. making these great rooms very clastophobic.. hallways cielings are extra low as well. This hotel is ok for the price, rather go to the Aria where it is brighter and more room space.

I remember the rooms differently...
We stayed here 4 years ago when we got married and thought the room was fantastic. This time, although very clean the room is not as practical as I remember. The bathroom light is straight in the middle of the mirror (a horror for females trying to get ready) and the television in the mirror is to the left. Privacy in the toilet area is far from private so don't go there with a new or prospective love! Other than these few things the room is still pretty cool...

Horrible experience!!!
Pretty much the very moment we got to our hotel we were disappointed because when we went to check into our luxurious sweet we were told we had to down grade rooms because they screwed up our reservation even tho we called two days before to confirm then when we got there they said that room was no longer available. Our tv kept cutting out even After we switched remotes once just to add to it. They did give us one hundred dollars food credit for our huge down grade room but a simple breakfast at a cafeteria style cafe (nothing fancy) cost us about fifty dollars and the food was terrible, under cooked eggs and almost raw potatoes. The location of the hotel was rather far away from the central action as well. I would never stay at the MGM again, it seemed like each day we were there the worse and worse our stay at the MGM grand got.

The MGM Grand- its a tour onto itself
The MGM is beautiful. The lobby deserves the name Grand. The men out front are very professional, good thing because the MGM hosts conventions all the time. My room was great. It had an art deco feel like you might see in Miami. The shower was huge. It had a big, comfortable bed and perhaps a 30 in tv. Who goes there to watch tv? One thing, its not for the weak in the knees. Its a long walk to anywhere. I was told it was 300 steps from the elevator to my room. It was a 20 minute walk, plus an elevator ride to the conference center. There is no indoor pool at this time. If you want to sit in a whirlpool, there is one in the spa. They have several spa packages for men and women. As for walking outside, I don't know why sidewalks are optional in Vegas. Be prepared for that if you walk. It took me a long time to get to Harrahs. Methinks the maps are not to proper scale. The buffet at the MGM was $18. At one of the nicer restaurants the smallest steak was $29. The skirt steak and the shrimp were both delicious. It was a good place for people watching too. I'm not a gambler, I was there on business, so I can't report on how the gaming goes. They have the usual machines, as well as blackjack. There are several eating places like McDonalds inside too. Restrooms are few and far between, so the long walk advisory applies there too. There are shops for medium priced clothes, and even a wedding chapel. The MGM has a little bit of everything and is well run.

FIRST TIME IN HI
Exceeded my expectations!
I was turned off by the idea of paying a $25/day resort fee but decided to give MGM a chance. I am so glad my family made the decision to stay there! Our hotel room was on the 7th floor and was amazingly easy to get there. The room was very clean and decor was beautiful. We didn't have much of a view but didn't care about that much since we were only in the room to sleep and get ready to have some Vegas fun. It kind of sucks to not have your own refrigerator or microwave in your room but that's pretty much how it is at all the major hotels on the strip. We called to see if we could get a fridge but was informed that it was $25/day... NO THANKS! Good thing they have ice machines. I read other reviews complaining about the scent around the hotel and I will warn you that it is definitely overwhelming but you will get used to it where you don't notice it anymore. I didn't smell it in our room but all over the casino and hallways it was there. The WiFi was blazingly fast! I was very impressed with how fast I could upload and download stuff on my phone and computer. I've stayed at other Vegas hotels where they charged $19.99 for one freakin' day of mediocre service so the $25 resort fee was well worth it in my opinion. I can't comment on how the pool was since we went in February when they are closed. I was very sad to see the lion exhibit closed... Apparently they are building another night club (just what Vegas needs, right? Another night club?!). The hotel is far in my opinion, I usually stay in the middle of the strip. We had a rental car so it wasn't really a big issue for us. They also have trams (we didn't use it) so if you aren't renting a car make sure to wear good walking shoes if you want to check out other sites! Overall I would definitely stay here again. Staff was very warm and welcoming and our room was the best I've stayed in!

There were charges to the room that were added when we tried to put some of our leftover food in the fridge, we had to call 2 twice to have someone reset the fridge and to remove from our room. We had a $75 meal credit and once we used it were then told that the taxes would be charged to the room. The smell in the lobby and the hallways was unbearable. Whatever is piped in as air freshener should be re considered. I would not stay here again based on the smell that was throughout the hotel. The price was average, the rooms were quiet and comfortable, because of that I would stay again.

MGM Grand
I love the casino at the MGM and all the bars, clubs it has to offer. It's my favourite place to gamble in Vegas, I feel very comfortable there. The hotel room on otherhand was a bit of a letdown. It was clean and well maintained but a bit on the small side. The bathroom wasn't even a bathroom. It was the first area you were in as soon as you walked into the room and not a separate section. The basin area was so small you'd struggle to put any toiletries on it. I've stayed at 3 other hotels in Vegas and paid roughly the same price and always had really big rooms which is why this one was so dissapointing. I think next time I'll stay at another hotel and go to the MGM for the entertainment instead. Maybe the other rooms are better but I think they need to up their game for it to match the rest of the resort.

Just one issue
The MGM Grand is certainly a 'grand' hotel. I just had one issue that was very upsetting. I went to use the kleenex and after taking out the first one that was nicely folded, stuff in the box were USED kleenex. YUCK!!!!! It was especially gross considering this is the hieght of the flu season and that would definitely be a way to spread germs. I am sure someone thought it was something funny to do but I was very grossed out. We were in the west tower, 12th floor, room 534. This just might be something to added to the room cleaning process.

MGM Staff didnt cut the mustard
The Hotel is beautiful and they pump through this rose-like aroma in the hallways and in the casino which is pretty cool. But, the staff was not very friendly and they had lost my reservation which delayed my check in about 1hr. They also did not know how late their fitness room was open, and when I told the lady the next day what the hours actually were, she didnt seem to care that she was wrong. Also, whoever designed the bathroom counter is a terrible person and Im sure there have been many bruised and stubbed toes. They have a steel towel rack built under the bathroom counter top and its very easy to nail your foot.

If two bottles of wine are the same price, look at the labels and purchase the bottle with the label that would have been cheaper to design and produce. It means they are putting more money into the wine itself and you'll get more bang for your buck.

When I visit MGM I know there is a pretty standard to good level of quality that should come with this hotel. I can't complain about the rooms and the Buffet brunch was a great value (drinks included) for staying a weekend. My only complaint is that the level of customer service really has gone down a notch since I last visited 4 years ago. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day for service, or its the level of strain caused by the economy hitting the the hotels hard, but I really did not feel the ease of communicating with staff you normally would expect with a good hotel. Otherwise I would consider visiting again, for a short 1 stay.

Excellent New Room
I have stayed at the MGM Grand previously and compared to other Vegas hotels the room were getting a bit tired. I was pleasant surprised at my recent stay in a New Grand King room. The rooms are quite spacious and would hold up with almost any other room on the strip. Some construction is still going on at MGM which was slightly annoying but that should be done in a couple months and it was not that bothersome.

Las Vegas in January is Great
It was a great time. I stayed in the West Tower which needs some renovations. The Petit Room was perfect for one person. The bathroom is open and very sterile. Definitely designed by a man. However, the location was great. There was no need to walk on the streets to get to other spots on the strip. The monorail was the best way to travel in Las Vegas.

Excellence
The MGM Grand is right on the corner of the strip on Tropicana Avenue. The hotel is HUGE. I received the top floor under the penthouse and the price was average. The only downside is that the food pricing is ridiculously expensive. I'm talking about $14.95 for a hot dog at Nathans which is in the hotel. The shows are also expensive. Besides that the service is excellent, security is excellent and overall it's what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

We upgraded our room to an executive class. The room was elegant though we noticed that it was quite dusty. The tables, the sofa, the TV stand. Maybe because it has not been occupied for a while. Other than that, everything went fine.

Avaerage Experience...
Overall the stay was average... Pro's: Location of this resort is good and is towards one end of the strip. One can take mono rail from within this resort. Con's: We were allocated the room towards another end of the building which required lot of walking and was not considered the best part of the resort. One could feel by seeing the condition of the carpet in the hallway. In the room there was a very small window which had a view of backside of the building.

Fine if a Deal Pops Up
We stayed in a king sized room at the West Tower. The room was nicely decorated and clean but the layout of the bathroom really bothered me. It was cool to have the shower in that type of plexi glass/almost see through box, but not the toilet! Hopefully you've been married a few years and/or are staying there with a close friend otherwise things could get awkward. Felt really crowded which I suppose is to be expected at a mega resort. The buffet was ok, the restaurant's pretty good, and the David Copperfield show AMAZING! The concierge helped us get great seats for a reasonable price. Would probably not stay here again but the price for the room was more than fair.

owns our disappointment
O owns our dissatisfaction with the hotel and trip. Although the was a disclosure about air lines' additional fees the way Spirit charges there out to be some indication. Your sight prospers from these relationships. Had I flown Spirit before I would blame myself but your company did a poor job. As for the hotel much the same the place was nice but I could have gotten a better deal with the hotel on my own. These two factors to consider and i will be very reluctant to use your service again.

Fabulous Las Vegas Style Amenities
The MGM Grand accomodations are everything you could hope for in a Las Vegas stay. From sumptuous bedding to high end finishes as well as flexible window coverings that let you sleep soundly long after the sun comes up, the MGM Grand has it all. The location is perfect when driving from the airport, but it would be helpful if there was a sign where you must turn the corner to park. I nearly drove past thinking you could access the hotel from the Strip. Two things I would love to see changed however - 1) the long line at check in between 3 and 5AM makes an already exhausting day even more so, and no where for elderly to sit out the wait. This happened on both of my stays at the MGM when I arrived after a late night flight. 2) A door man or an autonmatic door would be SO helpful. Trying to open the heavy glass main doors while pulling luggage is very difficult and an oversight I found hard to believe!

The champagne breakfast buffet is worth the wait but if you don't like to wait you had better get there early. By 8AM there is already a line. The Studio Cafe is a great alternative but will probably cost you more than the buffet.

Not as described
The room was called a Petitie King, it wasn't the petite that bothered us but instead that it was actually more of a studio. The bathroom had no door to close off the noise if someone was showering or at the sink. It felt more like a hostel in Europe I stayed at as a college student. The hallway leading to the room got dimmer and dimmer and the ceiling seemed quite low. When I called to inquire where the cardio room was the operator told me that we were in the dark end of the hall and to walk towards the light--strange directions. The rate was very cheap due to the dates book otherwise I would have been more upset with te quality of the room. MGM has declined in my opinion over the years. I will not stay there again.

First time in MGM Vegas
Stayed for three nights. There is a $25 resort fee a night. But, you get free Internet access with that. The staff was friendly. I booked a small king room. Got upgraded to a bigger double queen room at check in. Bathroom was very clean and room was quite comfortable. Be careful on the bed frame. I hit my leg on the corner a few times. The sound isolation of the window isn't very good. Can hear the constant helicopter noise in the morning. Housekeeping does not replace the shampoo everyday. But you can always ask. Good strong shower head was very nice.

December vacation
My wife and I stayed during the week of UFC 155. Check in and check out were pretty fast. The hotel staff are all friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable for the price we paid. The only downsides I can think of is the walk from the parking lot to the hotel room elevators. There is also construction going on on tropicana so getting onto I5 north or Las Vegas boulevard after exiting may take a while. Overall, a very pleasant stay at the MGM and definitely worthy of the four star rating that most people have given them.

A 4 star hotel. The room was fantastic. Ours was on the 19th floor with a beautiful view of the strip. The mattress was the most comfortable one I've ever slept on. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. If I had anything to complain about it would be the windows. They could have been cleaner. The green lights shining on the hotel amplified that. Keep your expectation low..
Did not exceed or even meet my expectation at all after the "grand renovation". It bothers me when they claim that they are good, yet you don't feel it when you are living in it. Couple of things: We arrived around 5pm on 12/24, and it took close to 1 hour for the check in. (By the way, every time I walk by the lobby there is a huge line for check in, so I don't think it is an isolated event). I just hope that the hotel managers know that for ever minute the customers waiting on line, the hotel is losing $$ because the customers can't go "donate $$" on the gambling tables and eating the two pieces sushi for $50. Fix the check-in issue MGM...! On our 2nd day, we came back at night around 10pm only to find that our room has not been cleaned. I called housekeeping, and the lady told me that there were too many rooms to clean today so they couldn't get to all of it. When I told her that I expect my room to be cleaned her attitude basically said "you need to suck it up, we just don't have the staff". She then just transferred me to the front desk while I was talking to her in a middle of a sentence..... After explaining the situation to the front desk AGAIN, they offered me a 2 day resort fee credit, and move to another room. For MGM - I don't really care about your 2 day resort fee or a new room. I just wanted a no drama vacation, and you did a good job making sure that didn't happen.... Fix your customer service level and house keeping department!! Overall, my recommendation is to keep your expectation LOW. They are not as good as they say they are. And maybe go during a slower season, hopefully they are put more attention on you. The room is not bad for a regular hotel room, but try to stay in the newly renovated ones if you can. The in room wi-fi is not good, sometimes you can't pick up signal.

Great
My wife and I were there to meet our daughter and her husband to celebrate Xmas. We had all our meals in the MGM complex. Highlights of our stay in Las Vegas were visits to Madame Taussaulds, and the Shark Reef respectively. The MGM staff were courteous and Professional. They always had a smile on their faces. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. The staff performed their duties expertly and effectively. We thought that we had optimum value for the rates we paid. Compared to our last stay a few years ago, the rating is still five star despite the large number of guests around the clock. On the whole, we had an enjoyable stay, and we will choose MGM Las Vegas again.

Hike a mile to your room
Room in the West tower reminded me of a cruise ship, small sink, no shower. The door the the toilet was heavy glass and clanged shut when closing. It was so close to the floor that it cut my toe when trying to use the facility in the night. I had to turn on the bathroom which lights the whole room and woke my wife needlessly. The room was so far from the elevator I paced it off at 353 steps to the elevator lobby. On the good side the TV in the room was a large flat screen and the TV built into the bathroom mirror was novel. I've stayed in about 15 hotels on the strip, I won't stay at the MGM again.

MGM has downgraded
I've stayed at MGM seven years ago and was truly impressed. Wow how things have changed. First, the smell of the entire hotel is obnoxious, from entering the lobby until you reach your room. It's a powdery old lady smell, being pumped through the air. The kind of smell you can taste in your mouth and gives you an instant headache. Our room overlooked the Motel 6 and low budget hotels and the entry is on that road. It feels as if you're not even on the strip. Next time I'll likely stay @ Aria, Cosmopolitan, PH, Bellagio area.

Great Strip Hotel
Room was large, luxurious bed and bedding, good media connections and sumptious bathroom. Room cleaned every day but the bottom sheet was never straightened stretched or smoothed a call through to housekeeping ensured we got the sheets changed just once in 10 days. We chose this hotel above others for the lazy river but this was closed for the season. A pool at one of the Signature towers was open but this was disappointing and others Mirage still had their pool open. Would like to have had this knowledge before booking. The staff were wonderful from start to finish with nothing too much trouble. The coctail service throughout our stay was great, we fed the pokies frequently and tipped every time but we never waited long for a drink. The lobby area is magnificent with a good balance of brightness, glamour, efficiency and style without being pompous. I would stay here again

Sun lounging prohibited!
As the main purpose of our holiday was to relax in the sunshine, finding that the pool area "was closed for the season" was very annoying. Desk staff claimed that it says so on the website #it didn't at the time & still doesn't# and offered us the use of another pool which unfortunately was in the shade until noon #giving about 4 hours of sun# or the option of travelling to either the Mandalay Bay or Monte Carlo hotel pools which are both over 1/2 a mile away! Lovely room, but if you're going to Vegas for some winter sun, then stay in a different hotel!

great vacation
This hotel is amazing. It has so much to do inside of it alone. The location to the strip is perfect. There was some cleanliness problems with the room though. Such as hair in the shower when we arrived. Overall a nice hotel though.

1 1/2 hour wait to check in!
The title was the start of a memorable experience. This memory will be indelibly burned into me as "run away from here DO NOT stay at the this place". I'll do this by bullet points: - The wait to check in on Saturday was unreal. They had three large crystal water dispensers on line...guess waiting for a room here is expected. - Once at the desk, we had to split our rooms because my mom is a smoker and I am not. I ordered two rooms the way I wanted, but he said that "These online reservation places do that" (yes he's talking about you). So we had 2 non-smoking rooms. He told me that the smoking rooms were in another tower....and were $25 more. Bait and switch and he threw it at your feet! - The walk to our room was about a mile or so. No, I'm not kidding. We were in the West tower at THE END of the hallway. See what happens when you are not happy at the front desk? - Distance from events to restaurants to casino....amazing. As he said at the front desk, "We are the largest hotel in the Western United States". Don't care about trivia facts that make my stay worse. - We ate at an overpriced restaurant after the show we attended. Great food, great service, but very pricey unless you are getting main course food. $18 lobster bisque soup...ouch. Overall, if this place truly cared about me, they would have been responsive. When I complained about things at the front, they would have made it right. I even said we were not going to spend our gaming dollars at this place, and he acted as if he did not here me. Guess he was too busy giving me a North strip room in their South strip hotel. This hotel completely failed on this trip. I'll never be back. We played at the encore both days. Give your money to Steve Wynn, he cares about the player.

Getaway with Friends
The hotel was good. The rooms were clean and well maintained daily. The casino staff was friendly and helpful. The David Copperfield show going on at the MGM is definitely worth a watch. The two issues I had were : 1. The internet was very weak in the room and I couldn't connect to it most of the time. 2. After looking at my play, MLife offered to comp the resort and dining fees for my group. When I went to checkout, MGM people had no clue about it. Not sure if thats a MLIfe or MGM issue but there was a communication problem somewhere and that left a sour note at the end of an otherwise, very good trip. If you can spend more, I would suggest checking out other hotels.

Better Than Average
This place has international events and five star entertainment options. It also has a very costly Starbucks and some other restaurants, a massive number of slots, decent to very nice to fabulous rooms and suites and free parking. The $25 + daily fee is a real pain and they should roll it into the rent or give some gamblers comps to cover it. Be ready to pay top $ for food and drink and room service is another whole issue in cost. However the club sandwich on room service could serve two or three. The tea you have with it cost $8 or so. It is about as large as your medium fast food drink in size. The food, room service and other purchases are so expensive, they should comp them. If you gamble, you will not go broke as fast as you think. You might even win a car and they don't seem to make it likely or heavily promote it. I frequently see prizes in the better places but they are half hearted about it. . The less elite casinos have prizes everywhere. A nice feature is the cash allowance I got at check-in. It was just less than the fee for amenities or whatever it is. Finally, if you can, arrive at a non busy time. The place gets really packed but it is fun even then.

Long walk from hotel
You do not need a rental car. It is only about $7 to get from the airport on the shuttle. BUT bring all the items you need. Just getting around inside the Mega Palace is a walk. Nearby, there are drugstores. If you want anything else, plan on driving. They have essentials, here and there but anything you need like a small milk (10 ounce) is 2 or $3-- dental floss is 4 or $5, and I never did find socks.

Good hotel to enjoy Vegas
Good location and excellent casino facilities. The free upgrade was welcomed on arrival and the room was a good size and very clean. We had a problem with NO water from 2am till 6am with no flushing toilets and or tap or shower facilities. We complained to Duty Manager who was rude and arrogant, Nathaniel was his name. In the morning the main Manager sorted out some compensation in the form of a breakfast at the Rainforrest Cafe so that was fine. Would definately recommend this hotel and would stay again due to location and amenities including direct access to the monorail to take you to all of the hotels along the strip

Conference Stay
The West Wing Tower is the old part of MGM at the opposite end of the Conference Center. A good 15 minute walk. We were put in the furthest room in the West Wing on the 5th floor, where the hallway carpet was so old it buckled in places. The room itself was modern, but relatively small and narrow. The Cardio Room (only place to work out) had treadmills, a few bikes, and ellipticals, and on a Thursday morning at 6:30 all were taken and there was a line waiting for use. I had to wait 40 minutes before I could even get on. There wasn't any room to stretch while you wait... standing room only, and there was no one monitoring the room as one treadmill stopped working and went out of service.

This hotel has a great look to it, but that's about it - definitely not a 4 star hotel. If you can get a good deal on this hotel, it's not a bad place to stay, but it isn't a luxurious place by any means. We had about 5 different rooms on various floors throughout the hotel, and each person commented that the walls were paper thin. I personally could hear the guy in the room next to me just talking on his cell phone. Everyone's TV remote had difficulties changing the channel. Housekeeping didn't clean the rooms when requested. Food was left out in the hallways for 2 days before being picked up. Carpet in the hotel rooms was stained. The restaurants in the hotel are average quality, yet very highly priced. We ate at 3 of the restaurants and weren't overly impressed with any of them. Many of us gambled at the slots and the machines, and no one received a good pay out. I did notice that the casino seemed to be a little less smokey than other casinos, but maybe that's because not as many people cared to gamble there. We used the Monorail to travel back and forth from the Convention Center, which was very convenient. If you have several people though, splitting a cab would be cheaper. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone if they've found a good deal on it and aren't too picky about the quality. It's definitely not what it used to be and there's much nicer places in town.

Okay Experience By Not For Business Travel
I've stayed at the MGM probably 10 times in the past couple of years. I like the hotel, the location and the amenities. However, I won't be booking at the MGM anymore for one reason. The Internet always sucks. I've experienced slow, sluggish connectivity on practically every trip and I'm just fed up. I've had much better connectivity at budget hotels with free Internet. I would expect any upscale casino resort to make sure their business travelers have a solid experience handling their business needs from their hotel room. So, it's been a good run MGM, but I'll take my business elsewhere from now on.

Great experience
We stayed in the Tower Spa Suite, and had a wonderful time. The room was large, and the bathtub was excellent. Some small issues: -We went in November, and the river tubing pool was closed for the season, though we felt it was warm enough for it to be open. -We had two issues with the room: the privacy notice was not available when we first arrived, and, halfway through our trip, we came back to the room to find the thermostat detached from the wall but still connected via the wires. After a quick call to the front desk, both problems were handled quickly and courteously. Overall, we had a great time for the price, and would return to the MGM Grand again.

Poor customer service lets hotel down
Our experience at this hotel started badly when we checked in , we were treated quite poorly by the lady on reception who we later found booked us into the wrong rooms (we found out the following morning that we had been put in temporary rooms even though we had booked these 10 months ago!!) This room and our companions room (next door) were quite basic and obviously had plumbing problems with no hot water and the toilet in our room failed to flush unless you lifted the cistern and manually adjusted it!!)plus all night we had noise from our corridor keeping us awake as staff were using the exit near our room to go on breaks and empty rubbish into skips which were collected by several vehicles at 5.00am directly outside our rooms window. We phoned down to complain about the various problems and stated we had expected a much better experience as we booked "king size deluxe" rooms upon which we were told we were currently in temporary rooms because of the hurricane situation (Hurricane on the other side of the USA ..some 1000's of miles away, a poor excuse if ive ever heard one and even if the hotel had extra guests due to cancelled flights etc... they should surely have given them the temporary rooms as we had booked our rooms months earlier???) They then attempted to shift the blame stating our third party must have booked the wrong rooms and that no other rooms were available. This is not the standard of customer service we had expected from a hotel of the MGM's stature so we then walked down to the main desk and spoke to the one person who was helpful (Laura) who arranged to change our rooms later that day and was very apologetic. The duty manager (Peggy) on the otherhand tried her best not to make eye contact and only came to talk to us at the last minute when we pointed out that we had no hot water or shower facilities but we were told we would have to wait until maintainance visited our room and tried to appease us by offering $50 food and beverage credit but was very abrupt and did not seem as though she was interested in our problems. After we changed rooms we enjoyed our stay, the room in the Grand Tower was of the standard we had paid for and had a wonderful view of the strip but our experiences over the first 24hrs have ensured that we will stay at an alternative hotel if we ever return to Las Vegas. On our previous visit we stayed at the Monte Carlo and would recommend that hotel above the MGM to anybody who is due to go in the near future.

The location is beyond perfect. The metrorail is right on the back of the hotel. There is a place to buy ticket for that same night at few steps from the hotel. There are tons of restaurants inside the hotel. We went to the mexican one. It was excellent. You can get VIP entrance to Tabu. We found it out on our last day. My only complaint is bed comfort. They were terrible. Extra soft, to the point that I felt like I was sleeping in a nest (a whole in the middle of the bed).

The MGM GRAND is just what I wanted from a Las Vegas property. We loved its style, location an comfort. Customer Service was attentive and friendly. The front desk was professional yet personable. We felt welcome and appreciated for our business. The "Lazy Lake " was SO MUCH FUN. I enjoyed MGM RADIO playing throughout the property. The Petite King was just right. I like the BOSE clock radio, the glass shower room and tv/mirror combo, comfy bed, and the available Emerald Green glow at night. It's just an all around great place. The only complaint was a slight mildew smell in the bathroom.

During checkin we were told the room was ready. We asked if we could check in early and we were told it would take $20 to check in early. The clerk gave us our info and told us to call back around 3 pm to see if we could then get our room number. I was tired from the early flight and called in at 1 pm to see if we could get the room. This clerk told us we could have had the room earlier without the $20 fee.

Nice Place - I would go back
Arrived and checked in at 3pm. Upon request Counter rep provided explanation on the $75 hotel credit to be used. I was a bit disapponted that when I purchased a drink in the club bar they still charged me and didn't apply any credit. They did, however credit my 2 meals when I ate at the hotel. Room was clean, but not very big and bathroom shower had 2 separate heads. Very nice after a long walk up/down the strip. The pool was nice. Was a bit concerned on the darkness of the hallways when walking over a football field in length to my room. Literally, I paced the distance and had to be 150 yards from elevator to room. I liked how the hotel offered a discount food court such as McDonalds, etc. The prices were reasonable for a quick breakfast. Also, ate at Wolfgang Puck restaurant and the food and atmosphere was very good. Even got free drinks as soon as I started to play on the slot machines. Parking was free, but like all hotels it took about 15 minutes to walk to the car. Overall, very satisfied as I am pretty particular on service and cleanliness.

Excellent place to stay when in Las Vegas
Our stay at the MGM Grand was very enjoyable. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, and our room was very clean and comfortable. The choice of five different swimming pools was an extra benefit that we especially enjoyed. We enjoyed the Grand Buffet. Everything we ate was tasty, especially the desserts! We did not dine in any of the other restaurants at the hotel; however, the choices in dining are numerous and appealing at the hotel. If we travel to Las Vegas again, we would more than likely choose the MGM Grand as our place to stay.
