Great place to stay

Very nicely constructed. Clean rooms. But a bit away from the main strip area. See full review

The Luxor might not be the oldest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, but built in the shape of an Egyptian-style pyramid with a fully-intact stone Sphinx out front, it has a character all its own -as well as being the sixth-largest hotel in the world. Renovated in 2008, Luxor Hotel Las Vegas hosts world-class performers like magician Criss Angel, and features a sky bridge jam-packed with upscale boutiques. Dream of ancient civilizations as you float past pillars in the hotel's oasis-like pools, before hitting the dance floor at the LAX Nightclub. Don't want to miss the game while you're working your way through the drinks menu? The Playbar lets guests keep updated with the latest plays and scores while they sip.

Perfect Las Vegas Stay

The Luxor provided us with excellant accomodations, with wonderful water pressure in the shower and a very comfortable bed. The location was both a pro and a con - you were located at the edge of the strip so it did require some foot work to get into the heart of the LAV strip...but it also provided a buffer from the crazy late night specters that had interrupted our sleep the last time we stayed elsewhere.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel tram was great...just hop on from the Luxor and you're either wandering through Mandalay Bay watching the aquarium, or heading out into the MGM casino floor, right by the lion habitat.

A great place for a BIRTHDAY

The LUXOR was a great place to spend my first BIRTHDAY away from home. The staff was great and took care of me in a very timely manor for check in and check out. It was very comfortable and i loved my view of the strip. I'll be going back in NOVEMBER and have told my friends about my stay and they'll be joining me.

The Luxor was very ...

The Luxor was very comfortable and friendly. The rooms provided the space needed for two,and the bathroom was kept clean and sanitary.Wasn't too thrilled with the distance from the parking area to the bedroom, but I guess that comes with a hotel of this size. The restaurants within the hotel were excellant in regards to the fact that you will get what you pay for.As with any of the hotels on the Las Vegas strip you have great location for nearby entertainment, shopping, etc. Would recommend this hotel to anyone uncertain of where to stay while visiting Las Vegas.

Good value, but starting to show it's age

The Luxor is on the south end of the Strip, which required a great deal of walking to get to the other areas of the Strip. The tram between Excalibur and Mandalay Bay is helpful, but be prepared to walk a lot. The outer view of hotel is impressive, but the inside of the hotel (especially the rooms) are starting to show it's age. The pool was always crowded and the staff was not overly friendly.

beautiful hotel

The Luxor is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Our room was in the west tower. The room was relatively easy to find and was very clean, nicely decorated and spacious. The bathroom had both a tub and seperate shower, very nice. The pools are beautiful, plenty of room for all guests. On those 105 degree days, very refreshing! My only slight disappointment was that the hotel is located at the end of the 'strip' which made for lots of walking. We didn't have a car while in Vegas, but found the public transportation quite user friendly.

Be prepared to wait in line

Accomodations were acceptable. Wait in line to check in, for in-room dining, and seems everyone working there would rather be somewhere else. Could barely get the waitresses attention.

Great Accomodations

The Luxor was a great hotel for the Las Vegas experience. The room was very comfortable, and had all the amenities needed. The trams to/from the strip made staying at the Luxor very convenient! Overall, it was a great hotel!

Vacation

My husband and I thought that the Luxor was a beautiful hotel. The room was clean, but the nightstand table could have used some dusting on the side of the table and the room smelled a little like cigarette smoke. I think the hotel needs to put more money into the rooms (such as a safe in the room and a small fridge). They need more directional signs inside and it would be nice if the train connected to the other hotels on the strip. The valets were good, but they need more bellman to help with the luggage. They seem unwilling to help or move from their posts.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Vegas is very warm, so we decided to rent a car which made it easier to get to attractions, shows, and restaurants.
