The Luxor might not be the oldest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, but built in the shape of an Egyptian-style pyramid with a fully-intact stone Sphinx out front, it has a character all its own -as well as being the sixth-largest hotel in the world. Renovated in 2008, Luxor Hotel Las Vegas hosts world-class performers like magician Criss Angel, and features a sky bridge jam-packed with upscale boutiques. Dream of ancient civilizations as you float past pillars in the hotel's oasis-like pools, before hitting the dance floor at the LAX Nightclub. Don't want to miss the game while you're working your way through the drinks menu? The Playbar lets guests keep updated with the latest plays and scores while they sip.

Neighborhood
The mighty Luxor Sphinx looks out onto a constantly changing lightshow and a neighborhood that's rocking and rolling 24/7. Next door to the Luxor, guests will find plenty to eat, drink and try on for size at the Shoppes at Mandalay Place, while legendary Vegas gambling spots such as Caesars Palace and Bellagio are only a couple of miles away. If traversing this northern section of the Strip, visitors might find it easier to use the local monorail.  The postcard-worthy "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign is only a little way south from the hotel.

Family friendly

Very nice, comfortable, and clean. Another thing that I liked from this hotel was the location. And now with the Chris Angel show that the hotel will have soon, it will be the best show in town!

Romantic Getaway

The Luxor is a very nice hotel, location is great. Bring your walking shoes if you plan to stroll down the strip. There was some light construction in the hotel, however, they are very modest about their construction in the casino area and it was hardly noticeable. We were dissapointed in the buffet, it is expensive and the food was bland. I wouldn't recommend it. The Pyramid Cafe is very very good - you will be pleased with the food and the service. The staff was very plesant at the Luxor we would definately stay there again.

Poor Customer service

The casino and reservation/check in/out staff provided very poor service. Staff poorly trained on computers, had to wait multiple times while management located to override their errors. Consistantly overcharged by food service and management had to be notified to correct their errors. Location of hotel not conducive for exploring city. Room was comfortable and adequate but had to climb over furniture to open drapes. Had construction throughout facility, subsequently very noisy and confusing to walk through. Staff unable to adequately direct to area which going as they were poorly trained.

Great location and fun atmosphere.

The Luxor had all the things I needed, nice shower, big bed, plenty of space and close to all the action. The rooms were clean and easy to access. There was some remodeling on the main level near our elevator, sorry inclinator, but very well managed. My only complaint was that the beds were too stiff for my liking.

Decent Value

The Luxor Las Vegas is a decent value for the money. I ate at the hotel cafe for a late dinner and it was decent. The selection wa slimited but the food was decent for the price. The room was nice, however. I recommend staying in the renovated rooms for the additional $20. The room was clean, comfortable and the location on the strip was perfect. Be warned, however, the check-in line took us 30 minutes so arrive early!

Just ok...decent if you aren't spending a lot of time in your room.

Although I realize I visited during the summer and the 112 degree heat...I would have expected better airconditioning. The room was blazing hot and never cooled the room down. It was my first trip and just expected it to be more hip and posh. There was lots of construction in the lobby area on going and the IMAX attractions were closed. Be prepared to have timeshare salespeople hit you up each and every time you walk through the lobby. The baggage hold for my late flight was great though. Although there were approximately 200 guests in line for check-in, the process went quickly and the staff was friendly.
