After planning our stay at Luxor, we found many bad reviews for this hotel. Do NOT believe them! We had the most wonderful ... stay at this location. Customer service werechelpful and very polite. We arrived 4 hrs before check-in and they held our bags so we may adventure to the casinos and restaurants. The location was wonderful. We were able to get to nearby hotels through walkways-never going outside. MGM GRande and NYNY were very close by as well. OVerall, I would highly recommend The Luxor for a great stay in Las Vegas!

Dissapointing
Chris Dec 22, 2009
The service was so-so, we ended upgrading to the west tower rooms so that we could get our rooms close together. Cost us ... about $20.00 a room extra a day, and was told that it was a much better room. Newer, bigger, bathtubs, etc. The rooms were dirty, there were a pair of sandals left in one of the room, all the bathroom doors in every one of the rooms didn't work, and the the pool closed down. Nonetheless, we had to pay for the resort fee. Many other bad experiences. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

L&C Dec 19, 2009
Elevator jerked so violantly, it stopped at 7th floor and threw my husband to other side. Music too loud in the restarante ... we used, couldn't hear each other talk. Waitresses were more interested in socializing between themselves than waiting on customers. We don't have a lap top and didn't use the health club, so why did we have to pay that (hidden) charge. If it a mandatory charge, the room fee should include it up front. We won't come back and we will be passing our experience on to our friends.

It's very intersting and smart building. I've been at several hotels, almost all similiar but nothing to compare Luxor hotel. ... That hotel has good connection to other hotels. Service is very good, also staff and security are very friendly and helpful. I'm very satifsfied except charge fee which it really not necessary because I'm deaf and dont use "hearing phone" but they still charged me anyway. I will recommend to my friends about Luxor hotel. I was very happy to have Luxor Hotel. It's amazing building. Thanks, Dmitry

Room Needed Updated
Danielle Dec 16, 2009
We didn't have too many complaints...but the complaints we did have were quite a lot to deal with. The toilet in our hotel ... room broke 3 times while we were staying there. We had to constantly call the front desk...and one time it even took over 3 hours for them to come up and fix it. It was not a priority for the hotel staff to make sure our bathroom was in working order. Also - of all the high and low star hotels I've stayed in, the beds were by far the worst I've ever experienced. We weren't able to get any good sleep because the springs kept popping or the bed would suddenly sink in. The thing we DID really enjoy about the hotel was the amount of eating options. The casino needed some variety...but you never really needed to leave your hotel for food. Overall I'd have to pass staying there again. The inside of the hotel is beautiful with all the new upgrades...but the beds and toilets are so old it caused a lot of stress for our stay.

Very poor accommodations for the money
Hanging Chad Dec 15, 2009
Don't waste your money at the Luxor, you'll be glad you didn't. Room service prices are over the top ridiculous (e.g. $15 for ... a bowl of cereal and fruit). We had a suite mind you, not a standard room. NO MINI-BAR IN A SUITE??? No full length mirror. Rather used and uncomfortable queen size beds[...] Hey, the spa in the room at least was nice, but that's about it. The place needs refurbishment and the amenities sucked. For the same amount of money or just a tad more, stay at Venetian or Mandalay or MGM, all in the same area. I've stayed at all of them and they are infinitely nicer.

Fairly happy camper Dec 14, 2009
Despite the above complaints, there were positive aspects aswell. Although the walls are thin, it did not affect me, as I ... only heard people talking briefly during the day, and no noise in the evenings or nights. Whenever I was there, it was quiet. All the staff was friendly, including in the restaurants. I had a deluxe Tower room so I expected more, but each year it gets dingier. I think they need a complete renovation, it is time. The food at Tenders restaurant was good but the service was very slow. That being said, the ambiance is very pleasant and I felt comfortable staying there and I will continue to stay there. It is not as noisy as the other hotels on the strip. There is one more thing, the only place for coffee, water or snacks is at several Starbucks' in the lobby but they close very early in the evening, and so does the Essentials cafe. Room service only offers fast food-type meals, nothing healthy like fruit or cheeses. Also they said it would be a 45 minute wait for breakfast.

Watch out for drink prices in the hotel - I paid $12 for a fairly small margarita. I would recommend getting off the strip and out of the casinos for better dining options. I recommend Steiner's Pub that is a little farther south on the strip - definitely need a car, but it's worth the drive!!
