NFR Experience
We stayed for 4 nights. First impression wasn't the greatest because one of the chairs in the room was very noticably stained. The room lacked a coffee maker and a small refrigerator that many hotels of lesser value offer guests. The temperature control in the room was difficult to control because the room was either too cold or too warm. On the plus side, the bed was probably the most comfortable of any hotel we have stayed at. The cleaning staff were friendly and always greeted us when we passed one of them in the hall. The hotel itself is beautiful and it was nice to be a little out of the main congestion of the strip.

Not so great
The furniture in the room was old with stains. The carpeting looked ancient and stained. The bed was comfortable. Basically the room was dull and old looking, but the price was right.

Not exactly a four star experience
Overall the staff were very helpful. The gym was well laid out and had everything needed - water, towels. I was also told about a church nearby, which I could walk to and was really beautiful. My major issue was not having a coffee pot or kettle in the room, this I would expect in the even the cheapest motels?!! I was told you had to stay in a suite to have either item. Items for bathing were not great - conditioning shampoo rather than separate shampoo and conditioner,no shower caps.

Just a few things
The hotel was a nice place. The staff was easy to deal with. Check in took forever, 34 minutes in line to check in. The first day our room did not get serviced so I called and they sent up towels and were very sorry about the incident. They were very professional. The King Suite was very nice but very dark. The hot tub is not a hot tub but rather a tub. The jets are disconnected so they will never work but still a beautiful room with a good concept. Price was great for a suite and I would stay there again.

If you want to sight see rent a car as I always have. Cab cost add up after several days. My friends were leaving Vegas as I arrived and I know they spent $200 in cab fares. My rental for four days was $100. Just saying...:)

Okay spot at a fair price
The Luxor seemed like a good deal and I was excited to stay in the Pyramid; however when we arrived we were told that they didn't have any non-smoking rooms in the Pyramid and we can stay in the tower instead. While this was fine, I would have preferred a heads-up about it. The Casino on the floor is nice, with some decent bars in it. I wasn't a big fan of the food selections in the hotel (there was a Food Court with McDonalds and a couple of other fast food places plus a two or three "nicer" places that seemed average). The exhibits were excellent and a strong redeeming quality of the hotel. I went to see Bodies which was phenomenal. I wish I had more time so that I could take in the Fantasy show and the Titanic exhibit (which you can see for cheaper if you're a hotel guest and you buy tickets to 2 or more things). One thing I found very irritating was all the people on the floor who were trying to sell us show tickets and have us commit to coming back next year by selling us rooms in advance (and offering a free night). I know they're just doing their jobs but I found them uncomfortably pushy. All in all, this was a very decent hotel, but I don't think it was exceptional. Next time I go to Vegas I'll try a different spot and see how it compares.

One of the best places I found was the Public House in the Venetian hotel (*NOT* to be confused with the "Public House" in Luxor). This place had a fantastic selection of craft beer, including some barrel-aged rarities that went well with all the delicious food options.

What stays in Vegas
Not a single thing went wrong! Room clean, staff friendly but not in your way. Surprising number of kids @ the casino. Would like to see coffie machine in the room, but what would they do with the high priced stores in the commmon areas. Excellent value compared to the City Center hotels.

Nice Couples Weekend
Overall the Luxor Casino Hotel is an average experience. It does not have the bright, glitzy, allure of some of the higher end hotels on the strip but it is not run down either. It is simply an average-3.5 star (not 4 star) experience. I got an awesome deal on this site- had I paid the full rate, I would have been disappointed. THE HOTEL ARRIVAL -Valet and bell hop were speedy :) -Entering the lobby-immediately harassed by numerous telemaketers offering a "welcome gift" which turns out to be "free" show ticktes in exchange for sitting through time share presentations-VERY annoying :( THE CHECK-IN PROCESS -Check in was speedy :) -I was prepared for the $18 per night resort fee which I was able to pay in cash or charge to the room :) I was told that the resort fee was to include daily newspaper (which we never got), in room internet access (not wifi-useless for ipad/tablet users like myself) and free drink coupons (which include beer and wine only). -When we were given our keys, we were also given a scratcher game and told to go to a desk and see if we won. We get there and its another opportunity do a time share presentation for a future "free stay" at the Luxor :( THE ROOM -The non-smoking King (in the pyramid) room I reserved was not available so we were offered an upgrade in one of the towers or a smoking room "in the back of the hotel on the 7th floor". Having never stayed at the Luxor we wanted to have the pyramid experience so we opted for the smoking room. The odor was surprisingly not overwhelming. -The cleanliness of the room was standard :) -Comfy bed and pillows. Only a sheet and comforter so I used an additonal blanket from home. -No microwave. No frdige. No bathtub :( -Pool construction on Friday morning at 10 am :( -Maid left dirty glasses in the room :( THE HOTEL -Signage and directions are unclear. We wandered around with other couples getting off the elevators trying to find our room. The signage did not direct us in the right way :( -3 hotel empoloyees were not knowledgeable about the hotel layout/directions :( THE ENTERTAINMENT -Fantasy show is cool. Typical topless show- not worth $70pp. The theater is small so the least expensive tickets have the same view. THE DINING -Auroa bar is cool. Nice atmosphere. Cool Bartender-Paul :) $13 for a martini. We used our drink coupons for beer :) -Tender Steakhouse had a nice atmosphere for a romantic dinner. It had the feel and service of a 4 star resturant but taste and quality were subpar. Lobster linguini was bland and lobster was rubbery. NY Steak was not tender and lacked flavor. Mashed potatoes were good. Lobster bisque was average. Photographer took pictures of us-1 8 x 10 shot in an album for $40.
