Hotel room was nice clean but was lacking the frig and micro and in room complimentary coffee which all of these are usually offered at Best Western and Quality Inns. Good location for the event we were attending.

You get what you pay for in Vegas
This resort must have seen some better days. It's got all of the basics of a typical Vegas hotel/casino, and absolutely nothing more. About a $15 cab ride from the strip, if you don't have at least 2 other people with you, it might make more sense to take the monorail at $5/person. Has all of the basic games, but no poker room. The sports betting area is decent, but has no bar even near it, so if you want to bet on sports and drink, you'll have to walk a ways back and forth to the nearest bar, or rely on the one waitress for the entire area. Pool was nice, but nothing special. Both of the rooms our party had were right up against the elevator shaft. The sound of the elevators through the walls going up and down was very loud.

Nice for the price
The hotel was nice for the price. It didn't offer anything special. You could still tell it was an older hotel and it had that old school Las Vegas vibe. I would not book this hotel again simply because i like to be on the strip. I did enjoy the vacation except for the airline we used. That was horrible and i will be sending comments to Spirit Airlines. Overall i give this vacation a 3 out of 5. It was nice but average.

Nice hotel if you get it at a good price
Got it for weekend at a very good price. This is not a 4 star hotel, but it has everything you might need. We got very quiet room in a center tower away of elevators. If you choose to go green, you will get $8 per night credit for food purchases or $10 for casino. We got the foodļ . Good value for your money.

reasonable hotel for conference stay
I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 15 years, and now that it is no longer a Hilton, there are some drawbacks -- $20 per day for the spa/fitness center, and a general disconnected sense of theme for the hotel overall. But many of the staff have stayed on - I met some catering staff who have 30+ years at the hotel -- and the rooms themselves are fine. The $13.99/device wireless rate is absurd, but I also had a waitress in one of the bars charge my Blackberry while my colleague and I had a drink. The Paradise Cafe still provides very reasonable and tasty fare, and I had a lovely time with Tamara doing my nails in the salon. I will stay here again, as my conference is here annually, The convenience goes a long way and it's good to see the staff staying on.

Not the nicest hotel, but overall great staff.
This was an impromptu midweek trip during a major international convention, so I was amazed at the price. The front desk staff was less than spectacular, but every other staff member we came into contact with was all about customer service. Being away from all the strip madness was great, but we were able to get our fill of it was always at the ready since the monorail was connected to the hotel. The resteraunts weren't fantastic, but great staff goes a long way. The pool had a nice relaxing feel and if I could have just hit the cash out button I would have come home ahead (in other words slots that paid). It is an older, so the rooms are not great. Typical need of a deep cleaning and bathroom redo that comes with the older places. I've been in worse. Overall a great inexpensive mid week treat.

If it weren't that it's right next door to the Convention Center...
I go to Las Vegas, typically once a year for only one reason-the NAB (Broadcasters) convention. Given the LVH (formerly Las Vegas Hilton) is right next door to the convention center, that one fact alone has kept this hotel relevant. If it weren't for that, then I suspect it would have been bulldozed several years ago. It really needs some major updating to keep up with all of the new hotels going up seemingly every year. Our room was fine, but very dark (my wife complained of having to go out into the hall to put on her makeup!) Bed was fine, and we did get a free upgrade just for asking (I did tip the lady $20.00). Parking is free, and our room (16-138) was right next to the scenic elevator on the North Tower, which made getting to the parking garage very easy. And, it does have a monorail route at the hotel, which is a plus All in all, if you're going to a convention, it's a great hotel, if you can overlook the age. Their cable tv is awful-they have "wide screen" sets, but it's not true HD. No HBO or Showtime either. Oh well, it is what it is. Next year, if I go back to NAB, I will probably get another room there since it's so easy to get around. But if I traveled to Las Vegas for fun, I wouldn't stay there.

Get a rent car. Don' get tied down to the hotel, where you only have the monorail or taxi service. Also, go out and buy a lot of water-you'll need it. You can get very dry in Las Vegas very quickly. By the way, we found a great local restaurant on Decatur Street, north of Sahara Blvd called the Blueberry Restaurant. Great atmosphere, and reasonable prices (probably because it's not on the strip!)
