Highland Inn Motel

The best that can be said for the Highland Inn Motel is that it is cheap. The stairways are filthy. The bed was comfortable. The check-in clerk made me pay for all five nights at once; I dreaded the thought of announcing that I had to leave: Would I have received a refund? The bath soap broke like a potato chip the first time I touched it; the maid never replaced the bath soap; I used a bar of soap that I'd brought with me. The maid replaced the facial soap on the last day. Whoopee. the lavatory stopper was not attached to the handle; I reached under the sink to manipulate it. The staff was stonefaced and strange. Acted as if I were there to cheat them. Nevetheless, the place was a cheap place to sleep. It's very close to SR 160. Silverton Casino is across the highway.

Really a short walk, too. Silverton Casino and Bass Pro Shop is across SR 160, the Blue Diamond Highway. Gas stations and fast-food joints are close by.

Pleasant - Far From Elegant - But Clean

Not the place if you want to be close to the strip- not walking distance. Manager very friendly - explained mixup in fees but reimbursed me for discrepancy in rate. Gave me a little bag of sample goodies - had a good razor in it which I needed! The room was clean - the stairs and walkway are all rather raggedy but the room itself was fine for a night.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Silverton is within walking distance for good meals and watching them feed the fish in the big aquarium. The basspro store is unbelievable - and there is a shopping center with a Target and other stores also in walking distance - burger king, jack in box, etc. also
