No, it's not on the strip
- - - but the hotel is a great value. Fairly priced; honest service, 30 minute shuttles back to and from the strip if you need them. Room was large, the bed was clean and comfortable; yes; there was a work table and a couple chairs. AC was a thru-wall 'shaker' but not loud and efficient. A clean iron and good ironing board was hung in the closet - - I didn't have to go looking for one. Parking (if you need it) is free and in an adjacent covered garage. Need to get to the Rio for a conference (like I did)? It's a ten minute walk to your meeting room. Food: buffet's are just fine - - - noting really special but very good and with a spread of choices. I could eat for less than $20 a day (with the gambler's card - - free too). I'll go back to the Gold Coast,

Greaat alternative too the Palms or the Rio
Exceptional value. Clean, comfortable, and accommodating. The food is very good (not LV 'exceptional' but I'll go back - - ) and very reasonable. I priced the neighboring hotels ( I had a conference at the Rio) and looked for reasonable alternative rates - - Gold Coast was so fair I couldn't chance it - - now I'll pick it at the first choice if and when I return to LV. Not on the strip, but a shuttle bus runs back and forth every half hour - - free too. Yah, it's a Casino and there some smoke in the public area but my 'no smoking' rooms was really that. My only suggestion would be to negotiate for a free WiFi, if you need it - - - it's extra. Try it, you'll like it ! ! !

Gold coast hotel
They don't provide any toiletry so bring your own shampoo/conditioner/toothpaste, etc. Average hotel, nothing special. Thin walls, could hear next room bathroom breaks. A bit pricey for what you get but it was a convention weekend so I think that's why they jacked up the prices.

Great Hotel and Great value
We spent a week at the Gold Coast. Everything went great. They put us at the end of the hall, with a mountain view. It was nice with very little noise and yet close to the elevator. The employees were Great and the Hotel was a Good value for your dollar. Nice pool and hot tub W/O lots of kids running around. The Buffet was a little sparce but I feel that you get what you pay for ($7.99 as compared to $35.99 at the Rio). It is located close to the Rio and the Palms if you like to see the sites. Being a local hangout I feel that you can play the games and get a fair chance on your gamble. I will consider the Gold Coast for my next trip.

Just okay...
This is fine for an older hotel... pretty much what you'd expect. Had good luck with the slot machines there though!

This hotel room was dirty and needed some TLC. Their were cigarette burns all over (non smoking room), gross hairs in the bathroom, and floor appeared not vacuumed.
