We went to vegas for a short vacation. We visited Freemont street. We did get to to several other hotels while we where ... there. A room where water was not running through the pipes all day and night, possibly a vacuumed floor would have been nice. We stayed at this hotel 3 years ago, nothing compared to this room we stayed in. We had the option to upgrade our room but we didn't because our room last time was just fine. What a mistake.

The only reason we stayed at The Flamingo is because we were going to see Donny and Marie Osmond, so we thought: well, rather ... than driving around after the show, we will just stay there. In my opiniion the hotel is pricy if you only need it to sleep. No value for the buck!!!! Plus there were no ammenities to make it more comfortable. The room we stayed at is old, the furniture needs refinishing, the shower head did not work, and the carpet was not very clean. It just made it bearable because it was only one night and we were excited to see the Osmond show. Food is a nightmare. Restaurants close early so if you are hungry after 10:00 .m., good luck finding something fast and easy inside the hotel. I am sure out on the Strip you could find something decent, but not inside the hotel.

Beware - conned me
Conned customer Nov 25, 2009
When I checked in, they did not have any non-smoking rooms available. They offered us a mini-suite free upgrade. On checking ... out, they said it was a discounted upgrade and we were charged $22 more per night. No one would listen and the manager would not even show up at the front desk. I was not too happy with this service. To make things worse, the room was not good at all. We didnt get any DND signs and restrooms were stained! The staff is friendly to talk to, but the moment you have a problem, they put up a stern face. The only advantage of this place is its in the heart of the strip. I would personally pay a little more and avoid this con-hotel. Or if I go in there, I would be very vary of any additional things offered by the staff. This place offers bare minimum.

For the most part this hotel was great. The staff was super nice and the location is awesome, right in the middle of the ... strip so you could go in either direction for more casinos. I wish they had more restaurant options and especially somewhere that was open 24 hours, I mean you are in Vegas. The rooms were clean and tidy but it was a little noisy at times. Overall it was a great time:-)

We Expected Better Service
Kathy Nov 23, 2009
We like the Flamingo, but it was a little disappointing that it took forever to get waited on. We suspect that due to the ... economy, they may have reduced the number of staff. We were also hoping to get a few better deals cost-wise, since many people aren't going on vacations due to the economy. That wasn't the case for us.

needs good housekeeping
shannon Nov 20, 2009
The room was a dump. When we got there we had no towels in the room and no glasses and no liner for the ice bucket adn no ... shampoos or soaps. Also no alarm clock or coffee pot. The only thing housekeeping has done was make the bed, I hope the sheets were new, not sure. The room smelled like someone just smoked a joint in it and the nightstand was filled with stripper advertisements. I guess housekeeping overlooked that too. On the second day I still has no glasses or ice bucket liner, even after I called and asked for them. So I found the maid in the hall and got some. I thought for the price the room would be outdated, but it was worse than i thought it would be. After going to the other newer hotels, I will definately spend an extra couple of hundred to stay somewhere else. Also I just got a call from Hertz, which rents cars at the Flamingo. They said I needed to return my car, which I brought back the same day I rented it. I parked it in the same spot and put the paper work and keys in the afterhours drop box. When I called Hertz 1-800 number, they said theyed check into, probably just behind on their paper work. Today is Friday, I turned the car in on a Tuesday. A lot behind I'd say.

Carrot Top was worth the money, he was great! My wife didn't really want to see him, but after the show she was glad we did. Buy your tickets from the places on the street, like the one at Bills gambling. You don't get half price, but you will save a good bit of money.

Flamingo Las Vegas
Dan Nov 19, 2009
Our stay at Flamingo was fantastic. We asked for a room upgrade and where even able to get an executive suite for the price ... of a regular suite. The room and the view where spectacular. We played blackjack most of the time in the Casino. And we played at many other places, both on the strip as well as on Freement street. But none of those places where nearly as fun to play as the Flamingo. The dealers where having tons of fun with the players. They where dancing and singing, and playing along with us, when we would tip. We had a great time.

Vegas Survivor Nov 17, 2009
The Flamingo is in the middle of the strip which makes the north and south ends of the strip very accessible. There's a ... monorail station behind the hotel which allowed us to ride over to the Stratosphere. The rooms were nice and the hotel was very quiet which was enjoyable! The only downsides I experienced was that the bed could have used one more blanket, which I'm sure I could have requested. We didn't use the pool area because the temperature was in the 60s, which was pleasant but not warm enough for swimming! The Burget Joint in the hotel was excellent and we got to watch our Vikings beat the Detroit Lions! Overall, I'd stay here again for the price. It's no Palazzo, but it works for sleeping and showering!

We stayed 3 nights at Flamingo and our overall experience was nice. The check-in line was a bit busy around 1 pm, but ... otherwise it was okay. The room we had was a Deluxe 2-queen-bed, and it was very clean and cozy, with a view of the Bellagio fountain (which was very beautiful at night). Everything was so close; we walked to Paris, Bellagio, Ceasars, TI, even Venetian. We also utilized the Monorail in the back of the hotel to go South and visit MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay.
