On a budget?

The Excalibur is great if your going to be on a strict budget and will not be in the room very much. The room and the entire hotel is dated by about 35 years. Extremely old fixtures. The A/C wall unit smelled like horrible mildew so we had to leave it off the entire time. We also found a couple hairs on some of our "clean" bath towels. All of the staff looks old and miserable like they all absolutely hate their jobs. The absolute worst part about the Excalibur hotel is the amount of staff you have to avoid that is constantly trying to convince you to book another stay at the hotel at a "discounted rate". Not only would i not stay in this hotel again, but they way they approach you is incredibly rude and discouraging. The nicer hotels have better locations and offer other amenities that make it worth spending more money up front. For instance, if we would have stayed at the Bellagio they offer a free airport shuttle that would have saved us $40 on taxi fair. Long story short, dont be cheap, stay at a nice hotel and not the Excalibur.

Great middle of the road

Fantastic location on the south side of the strip. In Vegas, the "Amenities" means the casino, which was really good. Affordable Craps and Blackjack. Hold 'em was affordable also, but they were stingy about opening up tables and it was hard to get in. The room quality was the worst part, but it was just blah, not really anything horrible. Didn't give the experience of a posh stay. Overall a great value for someone who wants to do Vegas without over spending.
