Poor Quality Rooms
The Excaliber Casino and Hotel is located at Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo Rd. on the strip. This is a large property that has cheaper rates than many of the casinos surrounding it in the area. But sadly you are getting what you pay for. I had stayed here several years ago and was not impressed then. The quality of the rooms are very cheap. I have had better quality rooms at many micro hotels. Cheap fixtures and furniture. The bedding and pillows were terrible. Acceptable cleanliness but my non-smoking room did not smell all that great. The air conditioner was noisy and barely able to keep the room cool. Resturants in the property were acceptable and reasonably priced for Vegas these days. Nothing special about this casino. The property really needs a complete makeover. I only stayed here to save money and I needed to be close to Mandalay Bay for my conference. The best thing to say about Excaliber is it is a good location for walking to many of the area casinos. Also probably the cheapest rates for any of the major casinos on this end of the strip. If you are on a bare bones budget, this is probably your best option for a major property. If you want a high quality experience, stay away from this place.

Never Again
Excalibur was very dissapointing. Our room had dirty pillows and itchy blankets. I went home after two nights here with rashes all over my right ankle. The bathroom had a very worn out. Excalibur charged us $1 per a day for the telephone even though we did not use it at all. Pros? The lotion smelled good.

Bad staffing
It's hard when you want to get away and not have the worries of your regular life. So you go to Vegas for a long weekend! Then the problems start rollin' in. The bell hop never gave us the ticket for our luggage. The front desk clerk spat out his gum in front of us. It took forever to speak to a manager. One manager never returned the call after filing the complaint. Once we were settled in, it was okay... but that's because we didn't require their services anymore. At least it was inexpensive to stay there on a holiday weekend and we were on the strip.

Stunk like cigarettes
My sister and I checked into this hotel, went up to our room, and the stale cigarette smoke smell was so intense, I literally got sick. We immediately called down to the front desk to get another room, and they told us we had to wait until the morning. We then left and went down to another hotel and stayed with family for the night. We returned the next morning after making reservations at next door, and got our stuff together to checkout. I had a hard time with that, because they wanted to charge me $10.00 for an upgraded room, because it had a view, which we knew at the time of check-in. I told them I would not pay it, because we were not able to even stay there, and had to make alternative reservations. It took 3 people to finally check me out, and wave that fee. I will never set foot in this hotel again, and would never recommend it to anyone. Ever. I have only been to Las Vegas once, but I think any hotel is better than this one. And because it is so cheap to stay there, you have a very young crowd. Sometimes saving money is just not worth it, as in this case.

Bad Experience
The room that was given to us was the worst ever because they were doing renovations right across the hall. I had to contact the front desk to let them know our situation and at that time they suggested switching our room. I felt that would be an inconvenience for my husband and me since we were already settled in the room. The customer service when checking out was very poor. The lady I spoke with denied that renovations were being done and didn't seem to care how we felt about our experience.
