very helpful
My room at the El Cortez was very clean. The maid was very friendly and helpful. The registration desk informed me of several options forservices. The staff in and out of the casino were very good hosts. I have enjoyed my stay, and would use this hotel again in the future. The only thing that I would change about the room is the ws area. I think the sink area should have a door for privatcy. I like that the hotel was close to the public trangsportation terminal, this made it easy to travel.

Short walk from hotel
Jilian's Hotel was next to El Cortez, I found entertainment that was not casino related here. In this hotel I found a movie theatre, bowling alley, and game room. All a short walk away.

Awesome value
You will totally get your money's worth at this hotel. Especially with the Fun Book that they give you when you check-in, you will be able to get a free breakfast, a free BlackJack play, a free slot play for $5, and a free Keno play. The room is pretty clean. The gambling is cheap here too. It has a dollar Roulettes and five dollar BlackJack tables. I was very satisfied with the stay.

Perfect
If you compared the accomodations to the cost at El Cortez, this place certainly made the grade. The staff was very pleasant, the hotel was clean, my reservations were waiting on us when we got there late in the night, which I was grateful for... As far as location, it is right down from the Fremont St. little mall area and close to the bus lines that took us to and from the strip. I traveled with another female and felt safe and secure here, which was another concern before we got there.

Great stay at Elco
Our 1st stay at EL Cortez and it was wonderful. The staff are freindly and attentive. The Cafe is yummy. The rooms are large by downtown standards. The beds were comfy and we had a perfect view of the strip. 2-4-1 martinis every night! And the Flame has terrific food (try the garbage salad, NY strip, and the mac n cheese!!)

My child was stationed in Nellis. I visted three times and stayed at the El Cortez. They actually remembered me the second and third time, that is how good the staff is. Super friendly, but wish it had a buffet, however has nice family restaurant.
