1st Las Vegas Casino lives UP to this TITLE.

Cafe is closed only 4am to 5:30 am for cleaning. Otherwise a 24 hour palace of adventure. Some slots such as "Fishing with an actual fishing pole" is extremely addictive, and you have to keep a pretty GQQD eye on your bankroll, as it can deplete quite quickly with it's frequent but meager payouts, but it is GREAT FUN. They offer one of those "What would you do for a KLONDIKE BAR" for any casino jackpot of over $25. However, you can always go across the street from the casino to the DELI (and buy one there for $2.99 and bring it back into the casino :~)

Binion Horseshoe Casino gives away the BEST "Free color photo with ONE MILLION USA dollars" making it MY #1 Las Vegas memory keepsake. It takes less than a minute total. BUT involves 3 steps. #1 Play the outside Free Binion Slot; #2 Play the Free inside Binion slot (50 feet straight into casino); #3 Take ALL the tickets that are handed to you and give them ALL to the Free Binion photo girl (She'll give YOU back ALL, but one). However one HUGE SUPER BIG hint is: if in a group of 2 to 12 people. Make sure everybody plays the slot (Let them know it truly take only 60 seconds ALL total) As you do group shots...insist that you have a different pose of the group for each member of the group that played the slot. OTHERWISE the casino will make one shot photo and duplicate it 2 to 12 times (You want ALL of those different poses, so you can scan and send out ALL the variety of FUN poses that the group created making this MOST MEMORABLE memorabilia of your trip to Las Vegas!)

Las Vegas Vacation

The El Cortez was very comfortable, the tower room seemed much larger than most with a desk area and a table and a chair and love seat. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area and there was a sink with a long counter and there was adequate space for hanging clothes. The location was very good as it was really only one short block from the Fremont Steet Light Experience and there were restaurants very close as well as the ones on the property.

I'm Pretty Tired. I'm Going Home Now.

The 4th of July weekend was a blast. I did the usual stuff like watch the fireworks and had BBQ plus saw the fountains at the Bellagio, the free concerts and Viva Vision shows on Fremont Street plus celebrated our freedom with tens of thousands of my fellow Americans and friends from around the world. A clean and comfortable room was available at the El Cortez at a great rate which freed up holiday cash so I could do more.

very good value

The hotel El Cortez is located in the downtown area. If you are looking for the glitter and swank of the strip, this will not be your cup of tea. But downtown has a lot going on in a very small area. Within downtown the El Cortez gives a lot for the money. The tower rooms leave little to be desired in comfort. Roberta's is a really fine restaurant. The table games are the best in Las Vegas. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful.

Very Friendly Hotel

The El Cortez Hotel was very comfortable, large rooms, desk w/table & chairs, 2 Q. beds, couch w/table. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area. It is downtown Las Vegas, & close to everything. We had a great time, the food was really good & we enjoyed it, and will be going back.

hotel

The hotel was very clean. It would be nice if it had a pool. I suggest you upgrade to the tower rooms as we did. Very accommodating staff. Casino was also nice. They do need to upgrade appearance. Any money invested in the hotel will pay off as the furniture market will increase in size. I will definitely stay in the downtown area again.

Great for the price( five stars)

When we first checked in, we asked for a room closer to the elevator on the top floor. A very friendly check in clerk with long blond nice hair took care of us nicely. Sophia, the room cleaning lady, was the best. She went out of her way to take care of us(I hope you pay her well). She is an asset to your great service. The only problem I had was when I requested an Iron and board, I never received it from the Room attendants office, even though she said she would deliver one. We will be back, beside that one person dropping the ball.

My review of El Cortez Hotel & Casino

We were impressed with the quality and size of the rooms. Roomier than most you'll find. The hotel is downtown, so it's not in the best area, but if you've got your own transportation (they valet at no extra charge, just tip and it's quite handy) then it's the perfect inexpensive alternative. Don't expect a fine touristy casino...much more the local scene.
