trip to Las Vegas

was disappointed in the beds in the room, very hard and made my back hurt when I woke up the next day, could not get comfortable. The food in their diner was terrible, the staff was not friendly and they were not attentive towards your needs. The view was not good. Needed to be on the other side. The disabled room was not disabled friendly. Needs to be updated to help with people who cannot get into a shower/bathtub without help.

Not bad for the price

The hotel was overbooked so our room was complimentary upgraded to a jacuzzi suite. We didn't go in the jacuzzi cuz it had some yellow standing water in it (??) but the rest of the room was clean and fresh. Located near all the hip bars downtown.

Impressive quaint hotel/casino

I find the El Cortez to be an excellent casino/hotel. It's very well-run and in an area that's just two short blocks away from all the main Fremont casinos. The East end Fremont street area is becoming more and more attractive. This casino is the anchor for the East side of Fremont streeet. $3 craps and 21, a courtesy shuttle (and it's a Lincoln town car! to airport, excellent gaming floor and it's not small, either. Not just a few machines but a rather large gaming floor.I love the old-time "Vintage" rooms #expecially the rooms facing 4th street, Fremont street. Really a gem of a hotel/casino. Nice old-time Las Vegas photos adorn walls. Charming!

Great vibe for gamblers - and single deck BJ

Casino is one of the best - dealers are not robotic - Very friendly - multi cultural.... (fun atmosphere)... and then walk across the street and you are steps from the Fremont experience... Room was nice and cozy - and resturarant / cafe - had good food for incredible prices... Will go back - first time stay here and enjoyed it... The only thing is clientele is not the most classy or upscale - wide range of people demographically - but to be honest the diversity gives the place character -... down to Earth...

Good Value

Vintage room a good value - small but clean. Only negative is it took 4 tries to get checked in based on the room not being available. Finally got in about 4pm.
