ok for money

Room is huge & clean but hilariously dated with pink bath fixtures. Front desk was robotic and not good at answering tourist questions. Location not what most tourists would be expecting, the downtown is really seedy. On the other hand easy freeway access.

Never Again!

We were excited about staying near Fremont Street and from the pics on the website the room looked nice. Wow were we wrong. They did not show the Vintage rooms which are smaller and you will need to walk up several steps to get to your room. Then we were not prepared for all the outside noise till 3 am. Not very good for sleeping. We did eat dinner at the restaurant which was good.

El Cortez

This is the hotel to stay at if you are looking for clean, safe, and economical lodging. Nothing fancy, but staff are friendly and helpful as well. Nice casino and good benefits to joining the Club El Cortez. Restaurant good as well.

The place is nice and near Freemont Street. We had a good time. The hotel was nice and clean. It had a 24-hrs Subway to get food. I will stay here again.

Not Bad, by any means

You're in Vegas, it would not cost you much more to stay in much better. I enjoyed my stay at El Cortez. Food, limits, comps, were all good, but not great. Downtown is surely headed in the right direction. Nothing to complain about except for no pool, or sun deck. I had a nice stay.

decent value, if you don't mind smoke

Most disliked: perpetual smokiness smell, even on the levels of the hotel rooms Most liked: closeness to freemont street experience, cost, no resort fees

Decent Downtown Hotel

I'm not a big Vegas fan, I find the strip overstimulating. Found this hotel to be a lot more comfortable and a lot less agitating, and generally a lot more laid back. A good match for someone who wants to go to Vegas but needs some more room to breathe.

it was a great experience

They should greet us like a simple hi or hello at the Casino's. We loved the parking cause its not a far walk to the Casinos & room. It would b great if their were elevators to the rooms but I can't complain cause we were on the second floor. The parking garage securities were really nice & friendly.

Over night stay

The sheets and towels were clean, But there was hair in the tub! The staff was very nice. We had asked for a smoking room but were told when we checked in that there weren't any left. We were told we'd have to go outside to smoke, after a long drive I just wanted to relax in my room and have a smoke.
