A real jem

This place was charming, very much old-school Vegas - small scale, intimate & a block away from the Fremont Street mall which with its gigantic overhead videoscreen canopy (shows on the hour!) is a wild place to hang out. Also check out Container Park just around the corner from the hotel - very cool mall-type place made out of old shipping containers - and a firebreathing dragon out in front!!! They now refer to this part of the town as Downtown Las Vegas, to separate it from the gargantuan mega-hotel/casinos down on The Strip. I'd definitely recommend this place over any of those overwhelming joint. The room rate was ridiculously cheap - I forget, but something like $40-45 a night, and the room was large and comfy, with a sitting area (couch and chairs) beyond the beds by the window. (The view was of a parking lot, but there was a cool mural of an iguana next to the lot. The

Quiet room, great location

This hotel is one of the best values around. I know they don't have a lot of immenities, but the rooms are quiet, clean, and the hotel is easy to get to by bus from the airport or by car. They have a shuttle to the airport but unfortunately not from the airport to the hotel. I like the coffee maker in the room and 2 bottles of water every day. So disappointed they got rid of cafe Cortez though, the new place was too expensive to eat. Walked to Denny's one block away, much cheaper.

fun in vegas

I had a great room and a great stay. My only concern as a long time Tez stayer is they named the new restaurant after a dead gangster instead of Jackie G who made the place great.

Quick getaway

I like to visit Fremont St when visiting Las Vegas. This is an old casino but walking distance (1 min) of Fremont st and attractions. Very cheap to gamble and people here is friendly and drinks are coming all night long. The only thing to keep in mind is an old casino and hotel and smells like the 50's and cigarettes, but hey is vegas and everywhere you go you get smokers and drinkers. Overall a great place to stay on a budget always have a lot of fun and the strip with fancier hotels is just 6 min away.

Great cheap Getaway hotel

This is a great, cost friendly hotel. I have stayed here probably 10 times, and it is our go-to hotel to stay in down town when cost is a factor. The slot machines are good, its close to fremont street, and the alcohol is cheap. The bad is that the wifi is a joke, and shouldnt even be considered an emenity, and there is no pool, which would be really nice.
