Family Time at Delano

I recently stayed here with my family and boyfriend for a wedding. The remodeled Delano (formerly THEhotel) is beautiful- super modern without feeling too pretentious or extravagant. Everyone was very helpful and super welcoming. The suite was very spacious (we had 5 in our group, and it was perfect!) and had a great view of Luxor and part of the strip (even though we didn't have any special requests). It was nice to be a little bit away from the hustle of the main floor, but not too far that you couldn't head back to gamble or eat. For the price we paid, we got what we expected. What's also nice is that even though Mandalay Bay is the farthest southern casino, you can easily walk to Luxor and Excalibur, which in turn make it easy to take the tram or street-bridges to the farther casinos.

Wonderful but chaotic

Renovation is magnificent but not everything is working smoothly just yet. The Grand Opening party added extra effort for getting around. :(

Had a great time, decorating was awesome.

For paying for resort fee's I would have thought you could get the inter tube free or rent. We were flying so what were we to do with a big tube, for the lazy river? I would like to have airport shuttle next time, taxi is quiet expensive, and takes the longer way there. Overall, a great place to stay, room was awesome!

Great room, great location

Pros: short walking distance from all the famous hotels in Vegas... the room was fantastic Cons: expensive for what you get... not only you pay the resort fee $20/day, but also you pay about $30 for using the regular spa services (hot tub, swimming pool, etc). Usually hotels give free coffee bags and water in the room but not this one.

almost as overrated at the city center

This place is very nice; but it lacks a lot. Like all mgm properties, the staff is great, and there is something for everyone. However, for what you pay and what you don't get.. stay somewhere else. What you will love is the pools here!!!! well at the M. Bay

WOW!!

Expensive, but comfort in every way. "The Hotel" suites are more like small 1-bedroom apartments. This hotel had a glass stand-in marble shower and a super deep two person tub. There are double sinks and a flat screen tv in the bathroom. The suite has one and a half bathrooms and his and her closets. It is a bit of a far walk to the hotel beach style pool, and at the end of the strip, but other than than, a GREAT place to stay!!

Ok for business trip

Only suites and impressively big. The common areas are too dark for our taste. The MIX restaurant at the top was very expensive. The service was very disappointing for this class of restaurant. The staff training is probably the same than for the Buffet!!

Amazing!

This was a nine day vacation for us, not the normal crazy Vegas long weekend trip that most people seem to do. We saw and did everything from jumping off the Stratosphere to renting four wheelers in the desert. THEhotel was very close and accessible to EVERYTHING! It was nice to come back "home" to THEhotel every night after a long day of walking, sightseeing and Vegas fun! The ammenities were fantastic! I have done a lot of international travel and stayed at some really great hotels around the world. THEhotel is right up there with them at the top!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Use the monorail system to get from one end of the strip to the other. Saves TONS of time and it's really inexpensive.

Not as advertised

The room was extremely noisy all evening and into the night from elevator noise (perhaps the service elevator) next to the room. When booking the suite it was advertised as either two queen or one king bed. I specifically requested a king. At check in I was told that in order to have a king I would have to upgrade for an additional nightly fee.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Bring your own coffee pot! The suite has a Keuring coffeemaker but you are expected to pay $8 for a "commemorative" mug and one K-cup. Ridiculous!
