Under the big top, more family fun awaits
Opened in 1968, Circus Circus Hotel Las Vegas is one of the oldest hotels on the Strip, and though its classic neon lights are typical of the Vegas cityscape, the hotel itself is modern. Operated by MGM Resorts International, the complex is home to shopping alleys filled with designer fashions, hair and beauty salons, along with its signature trapeze and acrobatic shows. Check in for the evening at the 100,000-square-foot casino, or spin, roll and coast away the days at the onsite theme park, Adventuredome.

Key facts

  • 3,773 guestrooms
  • 100,000-square-foot casino
  • 9 restaurants: The Steakhouse, Barista Bagels, Blue Iguana Mexican Express, Circus Buffet,Horse-A-Round Snack Bar, Pizzeria, The Garden Grill, Vince Neil's Eat – Drink – Party, Westside Deli

  • 21,400-square-foot meeting and convention space

Neighborhood

Circus Circus Hotel and Casino is at the north end of the Strip. With all the advantages of a slightly quieter location and the nearby Wynn Golf Club, it's still easy to walk the Strip, and a short ride from the Fremont Street Experience, home of the 'original' Las Vegas sign.

Hints and tips
Traveling with children? Designed with families in mind, Circus Circus packs in many excellent distractions for the kids, including the Midway Carnival, and rides like the Happy Feet theatre experience at the onsite theme park.

If you're looking to get hitched, there's a wedding chapel onsite.

Good for a short stay but not very glamerous

It was not bad. Being one of the oldest hotel on the strip it was well kept and clean. Rooms were good size for us. Some of the plus points are Circus shows all weekend for free. They were really good acts worth hanging around. Lights outside the building are iconic worth taking a few snaps The food is not good at all. Some of the better restaurants close too early. It can great really crowded, since its a destination for families with kids. Finally, the hotel lacks the glamour of Vegas. It feels strongly when you take a walk on the strip and check out other hotels like The Venetian, Paris, Mirag, Bellagio etc.

Get a bus pass if you are staying here. Easy to get around. Dont bother walking, it farther from the center than it feels.

Not a bad deal

I did enjoy my stay - I wish they had better amenities. Especially the pool was packed and not that great. The rooms are very reasonable for the cost. Will do it again :)

So so surprised! (In a good way)

I have stuck my nose up at this hotel for over ten years, just convinced it was yucky and ghetto, but having never stayed. My hubby has stayed here before and convinced me to reserve a room for a quick, last minute trip over Labor Day weekend. I was so surprised by this place! It was by no means upscale, but the room was quiet and all the food was yummy and I even did some on-site shopping! That probably sounds very sketchy, but I bought really cute chevron print shorts and super cute cork wedges to go with. The shopping really surprised me, there's tons of small shops and kiosks selling anything you could need. There's also a CVS on the corner for cheaper alcohol, toiletries, and snacks. Our room was nice, it totally reminded me of the Monte Carlo, pretty standard but comfy. Elevators were never crowded and were quick (we were on 12th floor). Clean sheets, pillows, and our comforter was in a sealed bag on the bed. In-room Keurig came in handy and overall the room was spacious. Couch and chair was outdated, but my expectations were low to begin with so I wasn't expecting much. This wasn't a con, but be advised there were a TON of people were here this weekend, naturally, and lobby/casino was crowded with kids everywhere, but it's cool that parents can bring their kids to a family-friendly hotel in Vegas. There's a ton of stuff for the kids to do and then the parents can have their fun too. But if you're not into that, I would steer clear. It's not too far from Fremont, which I had also never been to for the same reasons I hadn't stayed at Circus Circus, where there was more good food and gambling, along with some colorful individuals. Overall, this hotel is far from pretentious and full of regular folks. I enjoyed that about it. It was not the get-decked-out-to-go-to-the-pool type of place. It was welcoming, accepting, and allows anyone looking for a Vegas trip to come as you are. I'll definitely be back - with kids!

it was OK

I appreciated that the hotel was off the main part of the strip, but it definitely needed some renovations. it felt very dark and run down. it had great options for food (Mexican, Italian, steak, lots of bistro-type places), I didn't understand the extra charges when I checked in: didn't use any of the items I was charged for. All in all, for the price it was Average.
