A tropical getaway in Las Vegas

The California Hotel and Casino offers the best of both worlds, giving a tropical taste of Hawaii in downtown Las Vegas. Plenty of gaming action and award-winning food add to its appeal, while the spacious rooms and friendly staff at the California Hotel and Casino offer a relaxing respite away from the energy of the Las Vegas Strip. Relax at the rooftop pool, live it up in the casino, or spend the day shopping in the on-site shops or at the Bridge Avenue retail strip.

3 Reasons To Stay:
  • One block away from the Fremont Street Experience in downtown
  • On-site casino offers more than 1,000 video and reel slot machines as well as table games

we had a great stay!

We had a great stay. Warm and friendly staff. Great places to eat !! And the complimentary breakfast was awesome too!! The package deal we got was also great for our budget.. but Spitit Airlines should only charge for additional luggage and everyone should have assigned seats.. it's extra for assigned seats .. But we will definitely go back to the California Hotel and Casino. We already told our family that when they go to Vegas to stay at the California Hotel and Casino ...

Good price / Strip alternative

We stayed here for a family get together and it was a good price alternative to the strip. Fremont street is fun but a little crazy. If you have kids, you may not want them to see some of the things happening down there. Good experience overall.

Slow staff - no parking

Stood in line to register for 45 minutes. One person working the desk at 3PM on a Saturday. She was nice once reached, but standing for 45 minutes to checkin is not a good start. Room was a bit rundown, wallpaper peeling out in corners, shower caulking off in sections, etc, but AC worked great. A good thing in Vegas. Sheets were clean. However, once we got back later that night, there were no parking spots for guests in the garage. No one on duty making sure only guests used the structure. We ended up parking in a nearby hotel's parking structure and had to play at the tables to get validated. Elevators were slow, seemed to be only 1 of 3 ever working. When we went to checkout, I had to retrieve the car from the other hotel and get our stuff. Overall not the best experience. Not the worst, but probably wouldn't put myself thru this again.
