The staff was very friendly but not helpful at the beginning. Upon arrival, the room that I had requested wasn't available.I ... requested a double, non-smoking room.Because my room wasn't available I was up-graded to a suite with a king, that wasn't a non-smoking room."What a horrible experience, I have been to a non-smoke free room before, but this room was the worst." The next morning the staff placed me in the room that I had requested. I would suggest to future travelers, request a room in the north tower. The tower is cleaner, and the entire 6th floor is smoke-free. Enjoyed the Rock-n-Roll Marathon race, excellent course.

The hotel, overall, is very good. We like the location, its customer service attitude, and cleanliness. The casino is ... attractive, clean, and there is sufficient wait staff for gamblers...and sort of gamblers. The rooms in the South Tower could use some minor renovation, but it's not a big deal. My wife and I will stay there again on our next visit to Las Vegas.

Horror at Bally's
Disgusted Dec 6, 2009
My husband and I recently booked a vacation package from [...] for airfare and 4 nights lodging at Bally's in Las Vegas for ... November 24-29, 2009. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with our Bally's Las Vegas experience. When we checked in and proceeded to our room, we found our accommodations to be dismal at best. We were assigned room 6930 in the south tower. The hallways were dark, depressing, dirty, and uninviting. This was just the beginning. Upon reaching our room, we discovered that we had been assigned to a room out of the 1960's that obviously had never been renovated. The furniture was old, out-dated, and scratched up. Tile was falling off the wall in the bathroom. Additionally, there was an incredibly offensive stench of chlorine bleach in the room. When we called down to the front desk to request a room change, we were told that someone would come up to the room to check our complaints. My husband started having trouble breathing from the noxious fumes in the room and still no hotel staff showed up. At this point, we called the front desk again and requested to speak to a manager to demand an immediate room change. We were referred to [...]. When we went to the front desk to see her, we were told that she could only assign us to another room in the same area as those were the rooms assigned to [...] customers. I demanded a refund with the intent of checking out and going to another hotel. [...] offered us another room in the North tower but told us we'd had to pay an additional $20.00 per night. When I requested to see the room first, she told me that she didn't allow room tours. By this time, my husband who is diabetic and had not eaten since 5 a.m. that morning was fatigued, hungry, and distraught. [...] and I were still negotiating at the front desk after she offered to split the $20.00/per night upgrade charge with us when I reluctantly agreed to take the new room (sight unseen). When asked to comp a lunch for our inconvenience, she responded by saying that she had already given us an upgraded room for ½ the upgrade price and could not comp lunch. We were assigned to room 1782 in the north tower. Though an improvement over room 6930, there was paint peeling in the bathroom and a shower curtain that was installed so high that water spilled out over the floor whenever a shower was taken. There were 13 Exit signs between our room and the nearest elevator. Of the 13 Exit signs, 11 were non-illuminated; apparently not only does Bally have no concern for the comfort of its guests, it has no concern for their safety as well.We literally counted the days until we checked out. We did not spend any additional money at Bally's. We didn't frequent the casino, the shows, the restaurants, the shops, nothing. We spent our money at other hotels and plan not to visit Bally's again.

Nice Hotel/Bad Valet Service
Boomer Dec 5, 2009
The hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean. However, when we were ready to leave the valet service at the hotel ... lost our keys to our car. Almost four hours later we were on the road and stuck in the worst traffic ever. We are still waiting for the keys to be found. They had to have a locksmith come out and make a key for us; but it was not like my key with the lock/unlock and panic buttons that I got from the dealership IN JUNE of this year. First road trip! The guys in the valet part need training on how to deal with the public and not be so blah about not getting your car to you. Almost 40 minutes went by before a supervisor of the valet supervisor came and started things rolling. Then it took another couple of hours after that waiting for the locksmith and whether or not he could make us a key. We are now playing phone tag with the insurance company. So will we stay at this hotel again? NO.

Me Dec 1, 2009
Overall I had no issues with this stay especially for the price. We were upgraded upon check in free of charge which was ... nice as well. Free parking and the hotel connects indoor to the Paris and only a quick walk to Planet Hollywood. Room furnishings were older but in average condition yet still clean. Gambling tables had low minimums and staff was helpful and informative. No complaints and I would certainly return. Great value for the price.

Joe from LA Nov 29, 2009
First, the location is great. It is on the same corner as the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, and the Flamingo with over-traffic ... walkways for safe and easy travel. Also, the price was about right. [...] provided a good rate compared to other hotels in the immediate area. However, there were some downsides: The staff is quite unfriendly. If you are not at a table gambling, you're dirt. We tried to meet with their equivalent of a concierge and he made it clear that he was there to buy tickets, not to talk to us or help us find a show (you can buy tickets across the street for cheaper anyway so the service is somewhat useless in the hotel.) The rest of the staff was equally dismissive except for the waitstaff in the one restaurant we visited in the hotel, Al Dente, were superb. Lastly, the rooms are a bit spartan. They have the basics - a clean bed, a TV, a desk. They do not however have some of the things you'd find in a Holiday Inn Express - a coffee maker or free WiFi. Overall, I would recommend this place if (a) the price is right (b)you just need a place to sleep, and (c) you don't need to talk to anyone from the hotel.

Everyone must experience Battista's Hole In The Wall Italian Restaurant. Walk out the side door of Ballys, cross at the pedestrian light, and you're there. Hollywood stars have eaten there for many many years, and we enjoy the food and the atmosphere every time we go to Las Vegas. Full liters of red wine and white wine are put on your table when you sit down, included in the meals which start at $20. We also ate at Maggiano's in the Fashion Show Mall, and would return there on our next trip.
