Run down...and I even upgraded!
I upgraded to a "newly renovated" room for an extra fee per night. The furnature was stained, the paint and wallpaper was peeling int he bathroom, the out side windows were so dirty that it was difficult to see clearly. No refund was given.

Casino in the main lobby is overpowering, urging you to get out of the place asap. There is no common space to relax and contemplate your next activity. Exterior needs a paint job.

disappointed
I have been to vegas twice before on business this time was for pleasure. I had stayed at Bally's in the north tower previously and was pleased this time on leisure stayed in the south tower and would not do it again. Upon arriving at the hotel we checked in they had put us in a room that was supposedly clean. When we got up to our room the beds were made but looked like someone had by laying on them. Hair on the pillows and the room had the odor of moth balls. When reporting the messy beds, the odor and our displeasure the staff really acted as though they could care less. Would definitely not stay in the south tower again and would have to think twice about staying at Bally's again. The best part of Ballys is the location.

The original room nicer than the DELUX. Afer a fight with the manager he agreed to credit my account for the one night. Will never stay a Bally's in Vegas again

not a 4 star
It never even occurs to me to check in advance that a room has free wi-fi and an in-room coffee pot. Seems to me that would be like checking to see if the hotel supplies towels. But internet service was about $12/day. It was hard to get off of the Strip w/out a car, and there was no inexpensive food anywhere close. The $700 worth of coupons amounted to only a few that were useful. We used the 2-for-1 Penn & Teller tickets, but that show was really disappointing. Eating fire? Really? That's the best you have to offer in Vegas? On the plus side for the hotel, the room was large and clean == except for the windows, which were filthy. And the pool was nice.

The Jubilee show was ok, but very dated. I think the constumes and sets were originals from the 50's. But it beat Penn & Teller at the sister hotel Rio.

Elegance and glamour are in the past.
I booked our rooms based on my historical perceptions of the hotel. We did not, at the price we received, expect the elegance of the casinos that have opened in the last few years. However, we were very disppointed in the condition of the facility. The rooms were shabby and the hotel is in desperate need of a facelift. We did find the staff to be generally friendly and eager to provide assistance.

Just so-so
I was here for a bachelorette weekend, and since we are all in our 20's we wanted a budget friendly hotel with a good location, which is why we chose Bally's. However it would've been worth it to shell out a few more dollars to stay at a nicer place with a better pool. The rooms were pretty big but you can def. tell this is an old hotel - wouldn't hurt to do some renovating.
