Hyatt needs help!!!!

It is very clear that the Hyatt has put more money into their lobby than the rooms themselves. We has an executive king suite but it was nothing more than an oversized regular room. The plumbing did not work in our bath. The sink would not drain and the tub didn't either. Pretty disgusting!!!! You would think that such a place that charged $19.00 for a burger would at least have functioning plumbing. Did not enjoy the hotel at all. Overpriced and under achieving.

A Pleasant Experience

We were looking for a place to stay while we skied on Saturday. We were pretty impressed by this place. First, valet is included and the guys dealing with the car were very prompt, helpful, and polite. At checkin we got free s'more kits, which is a nice touch even though the materials are super cheap. They also gave us glasses of sparkling wine while we waited for them to get our luggage/ski stuff to the room. The place itself is quite nice and the rooms were spacious and nicely done. The only thing bad about the decor/ambiance of the place was the casino stuff, but that's what we get for staying in Nevada. Plus it was tucked away from the main corridor of the hotel, so that's a plus, and we were never bothered by the smell of smoke. We stayed two nights, but our sleep was not the best we've had. It was too hot (in the winter) and there was no obvious thermostat. It was also very dry, but that's not really the hotel's fault - it's just dry in the winter. Sound from the hallway (other guests) made it into the room a bit too easily, but again I'm not sure what I should expect the door to do about another guest yelling "Reno Sheriff's Department!" at 6am. The beds are comfortable, though, and we woke up feeling mostly rested. We ate at the hotel both nights, the first night at Cuthroat Saloon. We went here mostly because we checked in pretty late, and it was the only thing open. I wouldn't exactly recommend it. The food was pretty bland and didn't really offset the junk we'd eaten all day on the road making it up to Tahoe from the Bay Area. The second night, eating at Sierra Cafe, was much better. My mom and sister got the salad bar (just the salad portion of the buffet) and my girlfriend and I split the tortilla soup and chicken pot pie. The salad bar was given a thumbs up, the tortilla soup was okay (kinda boring, unusual being tomato based), but the pot pie was pretty tasty. We got a bottle of La Crema Pinot Noir that was also very tasty, and they let us take our unfinished glasses back to the room. Nice! The only other negative was that, though the wifi was free, we had to sign in to the tmobile page to access the internet if the connection had been idle for more than 10 minutes or so. Doing this on a computer isn't so bad, but on an iPad it's downright obnoxious. Overall the place was very nice and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to ski in north Lake Tahoe.

Go to Sierra Cafe instead of Cuthroat Saloon if you can, unless you're looking for greasy food.

Awesome Vacation Site

The Hyatt Regency, Lake Tahoe was spectacular. The accomodations exceeded my expectations, I got what I wanted plus more. The scenery of the Sierra Mountain Range from my window was breath-taking. The activities I did while my stay at the Hyatt include: enjoying the Spa inside the resort. I got a full body massage, enjoyed the shower, and just sitting by the fire place with a cup of hot tea in the serene ambiance the entire spa holds with it's dim lighting and nature inspired music, earth friendly lit candles, and soothing scents in the air. I also enjoyed using the work out facility, taking advantage of the state of the art exercise equipment. I experienced watching TV or music that was connected to the equipment and using the resort's personal headphones that were there for convenience. A glass of water provided by the resort in the gym was also appreciated after the hard work out. I ate at the Sierra Cafe where all my meals were appetizing and delicious. I ate at least one meal there everyday during my stay. The resort staff were very accomodating, very pleasant and hospitable and made me feel so welcome to be there. I love staying at a Hyatt Regency no matter where I go. It's first class all the way. Outside of the resort, I drove around the entire lake (Lake Tahoe). It is breath-takingly beautiful with the snow fall covering the mountains and beaches around the lake. I also took to skiing at Diamond Peak for my first time. The slopes were great and I had the best instructor, Steve O. The skiing made my trip that much more exciting in Tahoe. I also enjoyed the nearby shopping, site seeing in California, which is only minutes away, etc. I highly recommend anyone to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Lake Tahoe for obvious reasons.

Great All Inclusive Hotel

This is a great all inclusive hotel that has everything you need. Casino, spa, great pool and hot tub, fire pits with makings for smores and nice restaurants. One downside was the beds. They were not very comfortable. Overall though, a really wonderful place to stay and have a relaxing vacation. I would definately go back!

Liked shuttle service

Hotel was o.k. I upgraded to club for 75.00 a day and was really disappointed. Food was terrible, workers acted like you were stealing food when you ate there, and talked about people right in front of others who were eating , about how much others were eating. Really bad! I could go on but won't. They gave me a elevator room, so after two nights of listening to it go up and down all night I asked If I could get a different room, and then they wanted to move me across the sreet! and it was snowing, hard The best part was the shuttle. Every half hour it would pick you up or bring you back. Worked out well so Grandson could just get up get on and come back. Driver was awesome! Linda McDonald
