If you have a season pass to any Tahoe-Area hotels, you stay for $45 a night, but you can't make a reservation. They will not honor your season pass if you book through a travel site or their own site.

Perfect for what we needed
We were looking for a last minute MLK snowboarding and ski weekend... but were sort on cash. Staying here we could afford a clean, quiet room with a view of Lake Tahoe. Downstairs there was gambling and arcade games. The bar looked nice, but bring your own ginger ale. Worked for us.

gorgeous tahoe, as always
no snow this winter so tahoe is pretty laid back. all the hotels are nearly empty and begging for you to stay with them. the Cal Neva has great deals going right now and we're glad we took advantage of it. the staff was friendly and helpful - when the heater in our room was noisy, they moved us "instantly" to another room (actually an upgrade). overall, it's a bit run-down but who spends much time in their room when they're at tahoe?!! we'll be back to tahoe, and will probably stay here again.

good location. decent value. downside is facility is in need of desperate updates. Its relatively clean but outdated. Mattresses are the worst. if your okay with this its a good value for its location and relative cost.

Good Value
We stayed at Cal Neva for 3 nights for $290. Can't complain to much as it was the most affordable option on the north side of Lake Tahoe.

good value for taho location except for noise
Was apprehensive because of the negative cleanliness raitings but the room was clean and the beds decent. I needed a room for a friends wedding at the incline village and had to book rather late, this had a great price compared to all the other hotels. We had a room on the first floor and had trouble sleeping due to noise from other floors and people in the hallway, noise was a huge problem. Also be careful where you park because my car had the side door dented do to drunk people parking very close to my car.

DON'T STAY THERE
At check- in, I was told by a redhead snootie women that there where no smoking rooms and if I was caught smoking in my room, I would be "fined $150.00 dollars" and be kicked out of the hotel. When I called the hotel to confrim my room and such, no mention that there were no smoking rooms. The room was nasty. There were what looked like coffee and coke stains everywhere on the carpet, along with what looked like syrup stains. I wouldn"t walk on it in my socks. The furniture was worn and tattered, the air filter looked like it was from last year. The grout in the tile had mold. I called Orbitz, spoke to Sabastian and he took care of everything. We were moved to a cleaner much nicer room. The room we paid for.
